NYR what would it take?

Description
I just threw a trade up here without too much thought. NYR are off to a slow start, but they also need help in a couple of different areas. Murphy clearly isn't as good as McDonagh (obvious!) , but that's why you get a #2C and Murphy and the Hawks #1 last year and a conditional 3rd which can go to a 1st if he resigned, but that's the thought anyway.

I'd like to hear form NYR fans on what it would take? Another prospect? Another Pick? OR is this just completely off base??? I hate to qualify this, but this post assumes they don't bounce back. I hope they do though!

In short more that that.

McD has 1 more year at 4.7 mil so a 1st in 18 would start the conversation. Other than that NYR are in denial. They need a rebuild and this roster just needs to be blown up.

With that said since McD has 1 more year left, he does not HAVE to be moved this year.

Agreed that he doesn't have to be moved. Just to clarify, you'd be looking for (3) 1st rounders then? I have (2) already in this and the only reason I did the 2019 is because of that additional year McD has on his current deal...combine with the conditional resign. I'll clarify in the trade because that may not have been clear.

No I am just saying the conversation starts with the '18 1st rd pick. I have no idea what NYR would be looking for as before McD gets traded one would assume, Nash, Zucc, Hayes, Kreider (if a solid offer comes in). So who knows what NYR would have received from those deals. All I know is McD, barring a blockbuster, will not be the first to go so to predict the return is very hard but it would be big.
