Scotty was always the odd one out: with Schneids and Kinky being the goaltenders of now scotty was getting no playing time especially with developing Blackwood in the AHL being a priority. I've also always like scotty's game and do think he is NHL ready (at least in a backup capacity) and that unfortunately was never gonna happen here in Jersey. I think he will be a solid starter down the line and wish him the best!

Anyone is an upgrade over Arizona’s current lineup.

Now Arizona has six goalies under contract, doesn’t make sense to me. Seems like too many. New Jersey only has four goalies now under contract. I don’t get this trade.

Well, Raanta's on IR, Domingue's on waivers, and Langhamer's got an out clause in his contract to go play in the Czech Extraliga, which leaves Wedgewood, Hill, and Miska. 3 functional goalies doesn't seem like too many.

While I get how the nickname came about, "Kinky" doesn't seem like that great of a nickname for... anybody, really.
