Looking to the Future PT 2

Created by: JhonnyCanuck
Team: 2018-19 Detroit Red Wings
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 30, 2017
Published: Oct. 30, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Wings shed salary durring the 2017-2018 season. Acquire picks and get A. Svechnikov in the 1st round of the 2018 Draft.
Wings could look to add Evander Kane or Jonathan Marchessault for around 5.5mill a year as UFAs in the off-season, but the likely move is saving cap space to make a run at one of the big D-Men available after the 2018-2019 season. Rasmussen could also make the team out of camp.

Lol why does every Wings fan think they'll land Svechnikov just because they have his brother?

Its gonna take either Detroit winning the draft lottery or finishing last in the league for this to happen, you do know that right?

Edit: I just realized it was because you traded for EDM's 1st. Even then, that would A) mean EDM would have to still think they can make the playoffs and B) them be in a higher position to finish in the draft. I

You're way to optimistic that that Habs and NJD want those salary dumps. They can likely find better value on their own.

Need to stop waiving Nielsen to Montreal, Zero chance that Nielsen would accept a trade to Montreal. And besides pretty sure that MB wants a C younger then Nielsen. And Ericsson waiving his NTC for the NJD no way.

It's still early in the season. MTL can still be in the playoff mix and if Detroit retained some on Nielsen, it could work. And if faced with the option of waive the NTC or play in Grand Rapids, I think Ericsson would waive.

Detroit will probably finish bottom 5 in the league. And it's still early for the Oilers. They still have plenty of time to right the ship and if not, any team that needs blueline scoring and/or PP help can take Green

It isn't that Ericsson would waive his NTC, it's just no way that Jersey wants him with his contract.
