We need Pickard to be our backup, McEllhiney needs to go.

With his production this year I think he would be a 7th or future consids.

True, maybe a conditional 7th would work.
If McEllhinney plays at least 18 games it becomes a 6th, if less it stays a 7th.

Can't see any team taking him but that's really not a problem. Call Sparks up and have McElhiney backup Pickard

Gee, I didn't know McElhiney was the reason have been playing so poorly for two weeks. No reason to think Pickard or Sparks will be any better. Because McIlerny has to be waived but has no cap implications if sent to the Marlies, I suggest don't trade him if you really want to go with another back up.

Pickard players admirably for a team with horrid defense last season, he’s got put on waivers once and now everyone thinks he’s worthless. Pickard has more potential that McEllhiney, and should be played over him.

Daryl: I'll agree that Pickard has more potential. But that isn't the reason to promote him. Is he a better backup than McEiliney is the only question.

If he can be decent in Colorado, he can play better than McEllhiney.

I don't understand why you'd call up Picks instead of Sparks, who's been the best goalie in the A by far.
