ROUND 1TEAMORIGINALPLAYERDETAILS
1Logo of the Toronto Maple Leafs-
2Logo of the Winnipeg Jets-
3Logo of the Columbus Blue Jackets-Centers are valued higher than wingers
4Logo of the Edmonton Oilers-
5Logo of the Vancouver Canucks-
6Logo of the Calgary Flames-Like McAvoy a little better than Sergachev. Numbers are almost identical on a per game basis, similar situations.
7Logo of the Arizona Coyotes-
8Logo of the Buffalo Sabres-
9Logo of the Montreal Canadiens-Like Hronek a little bit more long term than Chychrun. Hronek has a more all-around game, Chychrun is a very good on the defensive side, somewhat limited on the offensive side.
10Logo of the Colorado Avalanche-
11Logo of the Ottawa SenatorsLogo of the New Jersey Devils
12Logo of the New Jersey DevilsLogo of the Ottawa Senators
Tyson Jost (-12 )
13Logo of the Carolina Hurricanes-
Adam Fox (-13 )
Probably underrated in this draft because he's in his first year, while the others above him have 3-4 years on him (except Hronek). Good first 60 games, let's see where he's at when he hits 200 games.
14Logo of the Boston Bruins-Another guy I probably underrated, but for being an offensive defenseman, his scoring rate is behind all the dmen in front of him except Chrychrun. All the guys in front of him are 1/2 dmen potential, if not already there, I believe Girard is closer to a 3/4.
15Logo of the Minnesota Wild-If Pool Party is drafted here, very little complaining would be heard (plus, he wouldn't have been rushed into the NHL).
16Logo of the Arizona CoyotesLogo of the Detroit Red Wings
Jake Bean (-16 )
Could be the best dman not in the NHL (though, a few other guys would probably have a major argument with that).
17Logo of the Nashville Predators-
Luke Kunin (-17 )
18Logo of the Winnipeg JetsLogo of the Philadelphia Flyers
19Logo of the New York Islanders-
Sam Steel (-19 )
20Logo of the Detroit Red WingsLogo of the New York Rangers
21Logo of the Carolina HurricanesLogo of the Los Angeles KingsI think he was rushed to the NHL. With him leaving St Cloud State and going to juniors, his development wasn't very smooth. It'll take him longer than some others.
22Logo of the Philadelphia FlyersLogo of the Chicago Blackhawks
23Logo of the Florida Panthers-
24Logo of the Anaheim Ducks-
25Logo of the Dallas Stars-I'm not big on 1st round goalies. Always a crap shoot. Hart could be the exception.
26Logo of the St. Louis BluesLogo of the Washington Capitals
27Logo of the Tampa Bay Lightning-
28Logo of the Washington CapitalsLogo of the St. Louis Blues
29Logo of the Boston BruinsLogo of the San Jose Sharks
30Logo of the Anaheim DucksLogo of the Pittsburgh Penguins

Winger that plays on the third line for a really bad team and does most of his work not he PP? Orrrr a legit number one all situation d man that plays 25+ a night in the playoffs for a team that goes to game 7 of the cup final? Ya, I’ll take the d man @TMarch

In his career, Debrincat has 49 of his 167 points on the PP (or just over 25%), and that includes 13 points this year out of 39 (or .33). He's not only a PP guy.

McAvoy is averaging 23:09 per game, with a 1:20 of that PP time (2nd PP line, Krug being on the 1st), and 1:45 SH time on ice (2nd penalty killing line, Carlo and Chara have more). He's averaging less than a .5 PPG playing in a 51/49 Ozone/Dzone split (he's averaging .43PPG this year, and .49 in his career). He may be a number 1 guy in the future, he's not the all situations dman that #1 guys are at the moment. He's a very good #2 guy at the moment. He was actually much better last year at driving play and possession than this year (he's a negative possession guy this year, and a significantly positive player last year.)

McAvoy numbers aren't much different than Sergachev (either season or career numbers) in terms of points, PP time, SH time, possession, or metrics. The difference is Sergachev at a true #1 guy on his team (Hedman), while BOS has 3 #2 guys (Chara, McAvoy, and Krug) splitting up the time.

I suggest watching the bruins. It will blow your mind. Sometimes the stat sheet doesn’t tell you everything, chief. There is no argument that mcavoy isn’t the bruins number one d man that is based in reality.
