Curious what:
1.) Meier
2.) Gurianov
3.) Kylington
4.) Zacha
5.) Crouse
6.) Sprong
have done that had you taking them all over Jake DeBrusk, who is having himself a solid rookie season in the NHL? Also, you're missing Brandon Carlo, who has proven to be a top 4 defenseman in this league and would go before a bunch of these picks.
I apologize for Carlo. Yeah I knew I was missing someone, couldn't quite put my finger on who though. He definitely deserves to be mentioned you're right
Crouse could easily be switched with DeBrusk yeah I'll agree (more points through 23 games than Crouse did all last season)
Meier could easily be argued as well. They were both pretty equal players in the AHL last season. Meier gets a slight edge for me though being the bigger prospect, also having a better offensive touch in my opinion.
Kylington has drawn many comparisons to Erik Karlsson prior to being drafted, and he's been putting up fairly good numbers with Stockton this year. By far one of the best offensive defenseman to have been drafted in the last few years.
Sprong probably has one of the best scoring abilities of any player in this draft, having consistent 30-40 goal seasons in the Q and having still good numbers in Wilkes-Barre this season. Really sucks that a prospect of his caliber is stuck with such a good franchise.
To be honest im not too familiar with Gurianov, i just kinda went off scouting reports with him. Supposedly has one of the highest potentials in the draft but i dunno for sure haha
Zacha produced really good numbers in europe and is a guy that actually didnt see his numbers drop at all once he came over to Sarnia
Id be glad to hear your opinion though!
As a B's fan I'm certain you'd be happy to hear me say that DeBrusk plays on, in my opinion, the best team out of all of these prospects (minus Sprong of course) wouldn't you agree? That being said, not that I'm saying DeBrusk's good rookie season is only because he plays with the likes of Pastrnak, Marchand, Bergeron, Krejci, etc., it helps boost his numbers when he does a tad bit, especially when given a top 6 role (example: Crouse and Zacha were given bottom 6 roles in their rookie seasons) on a team as good as Boston. Looking back at my choices, does DeBrusk drop as far as 21st? Arguably not. Does he drop from 14th? Likely yes.
