I get fit may be wrong. But in reality, Kulich is a fairly similar level prospect to Morrow. And I don't see any world where you're getting the 11th pick for Necas and then Jokiharju and a 3rd. Regardless of how you value Jokiharju.

Blues aren't trading Parayko. If they do it would have to return a young high-end defenseman. Not a value issue here, but the Blues aren't tanking, this would be the quickest way to do it.

I don’t think retaining on Faulk is necessary. Especially if you’re looking to extend Marner, which really doesn’t make a lot of sense given the state of the Blues.

I know it's not perfect. But it's a 1st, 3rd and a pretty solid NHL ready prospect. It's right in line with what most rental trades are.
In terms of doing it pre draft like this is, it's extremely unlikely anyways. They'll at least do their due diligence of trying to extend Buch.

If you remove the 2nd from the Blues side of the Buch trade you're a lot more in line with what would be expected.

There was literally a trade last year of Krug and Sanheim that got vetoed by Krug. It was pretty heavily reported. And if I had to guess Laughton was in that deal as well given all of the swirling it was reported there was a Blues prospect involved as well

I think the ship sailed on Sanheim unless we get another late 1st somehow.
I think we’d be best off just keeping Krug on a 3rd pair as PPQB1 and trying to find a partner for Faulk that’s a little more defensive orientated to lighten the load on Leddy/Parayko.
In terms of Lindholm, I do think that’s an area of need. I’m just not sure he’d be willing to sign a 4 year deal like that.

Wasn't an "offer" I just think Miller would be a good player to add to the Blues. I can't really see them moving their first given it's in the lottery. Fwiw I can't really see the Rangers moving off of the guys you have listed for only draft picks after just making it to the ECF. Doesn't send a great message.
If those players you have as expendable are deemed expendable by the Rangers though I'd certainly hope the Blues would make a solid offer.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Tsmash</b></div><div>Agreed. I would much rather just take sennecke or solberg at 16</div></div>
If those are the two options I'd rather move down. But I'd venture to guess there's going to be one of the "Upper tier" defenseman or forwards that fall down the board. Look at Arizona last year taking the two Russians way above where they were expected to go. A lot of teams use different bench marks for what they want. I'd even be happy with us taking a guy like Eiserman at 16 if he fell. We lack a true shooter. There's just so much that can go wrong dropping down from 16-22 and unless one of the 2nds are moved, I don't see a reason to covet adding another pick in that range to take on that risk.

I think every teams fans want to move up. It's rare that they don't. I think it's hard to pinpoint where an organizations philosophy is at in regards to moving up. For all we know too, a guy mocked around 25 is each teams choice #1

We can eat up the retention as we're not going to be competitive for the duration of his contract anyway.</div></div>
Either that or move Faulk/have one play LD. 2 year committment makes it feasible given our desire to remain competitive, but not really in a competitive window.

Yes, because UFAs better than Barzal are readily available.
Mayfield is on a pretty much UFA contract. That is what UFA contracts generally amount to. Either too much AAV or too much term

We have 2 2nds, and 2 3rds this year. It's why the general thought is a trade up (if possible) is beneficial. I don't really see Armstrong trading down unless it's for a purpose.
We aren't in a heavy compete window, and wont really be for the next 2-3 years most likely. I can't see there being a real big push to dump Krug when in reality he's the only defenseman, save, Perunovich who has his own issues who moves the puck well on the backend.
Realistically I think one of the defenseman that are projected in the mocks to go top 10 could fall out. Most drafts have a bit of a wrinkle. We aren't too far off from being in a position to draft a higher pedigree defenseman.

Harris, Strie, Kovacevic and Barron are all way to close to waiver eligibility for that to make sense for the Blues.
And honesty none of them have shown anything more than Kessel/Perunovich.

Necas
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SemiAutomatic</b></div><div>Kyrou is the best forward defensively the blues have currently due to the improvements he made this year. Necas is nice asf with the puck and 4 years younger than Buch. I think this trade makes enough sense.</div></div>
Kyrou made a lot of progress towards becoming reliable in all 3 zones this year. But it’s not there yet. You can generally tell who is the best defensive forward on a team based on PKs. Analytics for wings are way too heavily influenced by other players. Analytics in general are.
The same issues that Kyrou has, Necas has in a much worse degree. They both play a very high risk high reward game. I can’t imagine if Necas can’t play center and they are on separate lines it would go over too well. We’re facing a similar dilemma on our backend where we have one pair that can be relied upon. What that does is puts them in extremely tough usage and severely hinders their offensive opportunities.
If we had a bottom 6 that was extremely reliable and weren’t trying to interject in a bunch of youth I could see chasing Necas as viable. But unless we are planning on run and gun full on shootouts, trading one of our two most reliable forwards for an extremely offensive geared forward when he produces at a lower clip is a recipe for disaster.
