Big yikes. When he doesn't have to babysit (i.e. not on a line with Mittelstadt) Sheary is high-third/low-second liner, whose skillset is very modern: fast, soft hands, good shot, and he's no slouch defensively--was clearly snake-bitten for parts of last year with the most woodwork shots on the team. Pair him with Eakin on the third and I guarantee they'd do well together on a 200ft line.
With Patches, Machessault, Stone, and Reilly in the top-6, they really do need a good third line LW to pair with Tuch. Otherwise they're playing Pirri, who is... quite the drop off. Sheary - Eakin - Tuch would be one of the better thirds in the league.

Corey Pronman's Draft Picks
Should be an interesting draft for Montreal. Players falling or not, should be a good player at 15. And even the potential to trade down once or twice to pick up addition assets with such a good large tier below them.

this years pick makes the team your thoughts
Big time recency bias. If he were NHL ready he wouldn't be available at pick #7.
He is currently listed at 5'7", 163lbs...

he's saying the bruins are getting a laughably bad return I assume. There is no possible other way to interpret this.

I like that the Eberle contract is short-term, seeing as the contracts we've signed other Islanders' forwards to have been disasters. I think he'll demand more money for that term though.</div></div>
Lol kinda forgot to check RFAs XD. Just assume Larsson and McCabe are there

I think the Blackhawks have enough 30+ year old players making more than $5M for the next 5ish seasons. No thanks on Okposo. If the goal is to dump the contract since there's so much more term on it, it'd take like a 1st plus a top prospect which CJ SMith is not.
That said, for the right offer Saad could be had, especially on this site. He's not the most popular player since coming back and has been underwhelming.

NYR ARI PIT trades revisited
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ADTR55</b></div><div>I'm open to getting Namestnikov, but I really think Hayes is the guy the Sabres should target from NYR. Solid, decently fast center who puts up pretty consistent numbers and can help replace ROR on the PK. But if Botts is just going for speed right now, Namestnikov's a good option. I probably wouldn't give up a first for him though</div></div>
Id offer the same package for either or. With a team built like that im not worried about costing the 1st

He's only 19, just drafted last year. We wouldn't offer him one until next year or the year after and then he would play 1-2 years in Rochester

Big Moves
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>J_Sand3rs</b></div><div>Gonna take more than Ristolainen to get Heiskanen from Dallas. Miro is widely regarded as the Stars top prospect. After signing him to his ELC, Dallas will have him for 3 extremely cheap years, as opposed to paying $5.4M for 4 years, for a players who could very easily end up being worse than Heiskanen. If Heiskanen doesn't pan out, then the Stars don't give him a massive contract. If Ristolainen comes to Dallas and struggles then they are out $5.4M for 4 years. I just don't see Dallas parting with Heiskanen for ONLY Ristolainen. In regards to the trade, I think you are on the right path by offering Risto, it'll just take a little bit more.</div></div>
"Only Ristolainen"
You mean a 23 year old Defenseman who has played 25+ minutes a game since he was 20, gets you 40 points, top pk, top pp and was also drafted 8th overall?
People HOPE their prospects turn out the way Ristolainen has.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ADTR55</b></div><div>O'Reilly isn't fast enough to play at 1LW, especially on Eichel's line. I think it's going to be a battle between our prospects/AHL guys to see who gets that spot, so probably one of CJ Smith, O'Regan or Mittelstadt if he signs this year. I don't think our GM likes the idea of getting another big contract when we already have so many (ROR, Okposo, Bogosian, Moulson)</div></div>
Ooooo you're right I forgot all about Mittelstadt, yeah that's fair. Gunna be a young team. I think they really need a bonafide puck mover on the back end... Then again, so does basically every team not in the playoffs.

What’s Alex Nylander’s Value?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ADTR55</b></div><div>That’s what I mean, there’s so many contradicting opinions on him. He’s one of 6 players in the AHL who’s under 20, and he’s coming off an injury. At the same time, there’s concerns about his work ethic & defensive play. He has so much raw skill though, that I think teams would be willing to give up quite a bit for him.</div></div>
I think it is more not being used the physicality of pro hockey. He has started to come on a little bit of late. I'd like to get him a few games at the end of the year in the NHL to measure his progress, but a playoff run and a good offseason and hopefully he challenges for a roster spot.

Nylander has been mostly disappointing in his first two pro years, (primarily Rochester) but might live up to his potential if joining his brother in Toronto! At this point he's a gamble at best!
First 2 Years pro AHL stats:
Nylander: 99 games - 43 Points
Leivo: 110 games - 74 Points
Rychel: 88 Games - 60 Points</div></div>
we are not trading Nylander for 2 failures.
Nylander was in the AHL at 18 years old, those guys were 20 or 21
