That was my original impression, but I have been very quickly corrected on that by other canes fans saying he doesn't really play center, he is more of a winger. If he can quickly readjust back to center to play the 2C role (and likely be the 1C after ROR as NSH has a 2C prospect in system, he just needs more time in the AHL), then I'd be more open to the idea of moving Evangelista.

He's not included, you're not getting Necas</div></div>
I don't disagree with you, NSH needs that talent, it just can't come at the cost of players that NSH is building their future around. From NSH's pov, Necas is an upgrade they would like to have, but I don't think they see it as 100% necessary. They have other issues like finding a competent 2C and a 1RD, so until something happens to address that I can't see Trotz going out and making a move like that. I won't rule it out entirely, but I just don't see it happening.

That is my bad if I came off as directly comparing the two. I wanted to illustrate the fact that NSH sees Evangelista in the same way that CAR sees Jarvis. If Evangelista is the only piece that gets the conversation started then NSH is likely out on Necas.

1. Mittlestadt is simply asking too much for the Avs to pay thus damaging the depth of the roster, and if he's signing 6x6 then the Avs are keeping him.
2. Retaining Sissons down to at least 2 mil.
3. The Avs somehow add a 2C on a bargain cup chaser deal, i.e. would have to be one of Stephenson or Duchene in free agency as they're really the only guys I can see as a fit to fill that role. Or else acquire one in a trade = unlikely.
I'm a big fan of Sissons but those are the circumstances that would have to happen imo for this to even be considered by the Avs.</div></div>
For Mittelstadt I'd be willing to retain down on Sissons, but completely understand that the remainder of that deal is outside of NSH's control. Mittelstadt is 100% one of the guys I'd be looking at if I'm Trotz in trying to acquire with all of the draft capital they have acquired. He fits the mold NSH is looking to build really well.

Makes sense. There is interest in Chychrun, I'm just not personally as sold on bringing in another winger when NSH already has a war-chest full of them who are NHL caliber or will be NHL caliber within the next year.

That makes sense. Evangelista for NSH would be a non-starter. I think NSH would be willing to throw in other pieces that are either NHL-ready or in the NHL (e.g. Fabbro and maybe Novak) for someone like Necas, just Evangelista is just too integral a piece for NSH's future. For someone whose first full season in the NHL looked a lot like Jarvis's first two seasons, it isn't hard to put together why NSH won't move him.

It's definitely close. I just think that as much as Trotz and Burnette have talked about the young players someone gets promoted from within this year, I'm just uncertain as to who.

I'm not opposed to a deal like that from NSH's perspective. It definitely opens another hole in the defense that NSH needs to plug, but with players like MDG, Ufko, Wilsby trending in the right direction I think they could reasonably plug the hole internally. Just a big risk given Norris's injury history, but he has the speed and skill that Burnette wants.

Totally fair. There just isn't really room for someone like Mathieu in NSH. NSH has too many young players who are deserving a spot (L'Heuruex, Tomasino, & Afanaseyev). Doesn't make sense to bring someone in to fill a hole that has already been filled

Trotz Takes Nashville to Next Level
That is a lot of give up for Marner. If NSH is giving up that much in terms of draft capital, I'd rather the prospect be different since we still haven't seen Wood truly perform. I'd rather send Tomasino (who was also a 1st round pick) instead since he would resign for significantly cheaper, is NHL-ready right now, and can perform in a top 6 role if he is put in the position to do so (e.g. 22-23 season is a good example of this, he just didn't have the talent surrounding him to shine). From what I keep seeing, that would be more in line with what TOR is looking for (players to help them win now). With Wood still at least another 3 years out
I agree with <a href="/users/toxicelec2" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@toxicelec2</a> in not trading Parsinnen and I would personally not sign Henrique to that deal and put Novak there on the wing. Novak can drive play like a center, but he is not good in the face-off dot. His talent, IMO, is better utilized on the wing. Sign Parsinnen and put him either at 3C or 4C with Sissons taking the other spot. Likely saves the team around 2.5M in cap space by doing that.
I don't think you can move on from Glass just yet. He dealt with too many injuries last season to get used to Burnette's system and I'm personally still holding on to hope that he can be a good middle-six forward, especially considering his performance in 22-23 he showed that he can step up to the occasion. Its more a matter of him getting his confidence back, but this is very much a last shot for him.
The last piece of feedback is that I don't think you can get Carrier for that number. If NSH could have locked him up for that number they would have done so already. NSH has been connected to Pesce a couple of times now, so I think NSH is going to be seriously in on Pesce

NSH declines. NSH has too many other holes that Rakell doesn't fill and would rather spend their cap filling those holes (2nd pair LD, 1st Pair RD, 2C) before going after a wing upgrade, especially when NSH potentially has upgrades in system to where Rakell will fit

What is Wright and what is Wrong
In terms of signings I do like the Skjei signing as I think that could work out really well, there would just be an adjustment period for Dunn getting used to the right side. It just means that Evans for next year, which I don't much care for, but since he is waivers exempt we could have him start in SEA and have Dumolin as a scratch and if Evans needs more ice time or isn't working our for some reason we could easily send him back.
That said, Tolvanen makes more than that. I'd be more than comfortable giving him 4.5x5 or even 5x5. He keeps trending in the right direction and is showing he can be a top 6 player, so I'd rather lock him up for a while.
In terms of the lineup, players are very much in wrong spots for next year. It is going to be more like
Schwartz - Berniers - Burakovsky
Tolvanen - McCann - Eberle
Gourde - Wright - Bjorkstrand
Kartye - Jost - Tanev
Skjei - Dunn
Oleksiak - Larsson
Evans/Dumoulin - Borgen

Selling High on Boeser
NSH declines. I like Boeser, but not at the cost of L'Heureux. He is one of the better prospects and likely earned himself a shot in the NHL next year, at least for a bit after how dominate he was in his first season as a pro.
Would be willing to put a different prospect there for Boeser if he is actually on the block though

NSH declines and blocks your number. No way are you getting this much back.
Evangelista is NSH's equivalent to Knies and Svechkov is the best center prospect NSH has in the system and is likely destined to be one of NSH's top 6 centers in the future. Accepting this deal from ANY team's perspective is a terrible idea and it is just poor asset management. You don't get an entire draft class worth of talent for 1 guy.

Not opposed to Fabbri, but I just don't think NSH has any room for him realistically. With multiple prospects prying open the door for an NHL chance (Tomasino, L'Heueruex, and Afanaseyev are all deserving) there just isn't room on the wing for NSH to add.

Thread:
Askarov Roy Hronek Tanev
That deal for NSH is highly dependent on several factors from NSH's perspective. I'm not opposed to something like this, especially with the likelihood of any kind of Saros trade being 0, but it is dependent on whether NSH can sign not only Saros but Lankinen as well, considering he is supposedly looking for a potential starter job. If Lankinen leaves in FA, then NSH is likely going to want Askarov in the NHL backing up Saros for a few years instead of going to FA for a backup.
The only other consideration that NSH has to make is their need for a 2C and after signing Marner and most of the other players they need (RFA's: Tomasino, Afanseyev, Stastney, Parssinen; UFA's: Lankinen and top pair RD like Pesce) there isn't a lot of money left to sign a competent 2C. To do that, NSH would realistically need to send some money back to TOR to make it happen, something like Schenn or Lauzon just to realistically afford all of the players they need.

SEA declines. SEA is not moving Wright for anything. This has nothing to do with value. SEA is not in a position to compete for a cup right now and Marner is not going to move the needle enough for SEA to compete for a cup truly. Sure, it makes SEA more competitive from a making the playoffs perspective, but SEA could compete for playoffs with a few smaller moves instead of just doing this. Long-term it makes more sense for SEA to continue developing Wright and the rest of their prospects and make moves to improve in goal and defense.

I agree, but I doubt Askarov is what NJD is looking for. From what it sounds like, they want someone who is proven and who can help them win now. Moving that for an unproven NHL goaltender seems like a huge gamble.

Apparently Burns is on the market
Doubt that gets it done for Pesce, probably more in the the 6M range to get Pesce with a lot more term. I also doubt Stamkos leaves TBL. It doesn't seem like TBL is posturing to do anything other than sign him, likely doing something like what Pavelski did with DAL, but I'd happily take him at that number.
I'd want to stay away from Burns. Nothing against him, but I just think at this point he is a bit too much risk for me, especially at the cost of Parssinen, who I think could help in solving NSH's situation at center to get Novak back to the wing. If I want a more offensively inclined defenseman I'd rather go after Chuychrun.
I'm a little puzzled by the Ferraro trade, I'm not opposed to it, but it goes a bit against what Trotz has been saying about targeting guys with more size and Ferraro just doesn't fit that bill given that he is no bigger than Fabbro.
