Realistic offseason
Don't think Habs are looking to clear cap
Especially not if it entails giving away Harris
Sure there's a team out there that would offer a 2nd or 3rd for him

I like Terry but that offer seems abit steep, since next yrs first is still potentially top 10
and Beck/Engstrom have both become very intriguing prospects
In my dream world Mesar + Harris/Struble/Barron + WPG 2024 1st gets it done

What if habs add Ylonen and/or Heineman as cheap middle six options
heineman seems to be ready to make the jump
Ylonen offense has not translated to NHL yet but the potential is still there and he is responsible(ish) defensively
Armia also an option but makes 3.5 mil

You said I was overrating him, but I'm rating him just like everyone who watches all these players does. So maybe the issue isn't everyone overrating him, it's that you're underrating him. He's a very high floor prospect with an elite shot and a well rounded game. A late 1st and a meh Dmen doesn't get a sniff of Snuggerud.</div></div>
You still don't get it
i said "i think you're overrating him"
This sentence is formed as an opinion not a fact
Maybe i am underrating him, it's possible but why does that upset you so much?
I'm not pushing the fact that you have to like the offer, I'm saying you don't have to react like a whiny little punk about it.
Look at BluesReport18 reply to my original post, that's how a mature human being replies
Wha wha " are you serious"
wha wha "but the pundits say"
wha wha wha
Maybe it's time to have a warm glass of milk and go to bed kid

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mokumboi</b></div><div>I dare you to find one prospect pundit or service that rates Snuggerud as having a "middle 6" ceiling.
ONE.
I'm not over-rating anything. My view of him is precisely in line with the consensus. Where he was picked two years ago is entirely irrelevant. Time marches on, dude.</div></div>
It's ok to have different opinions.
No need call me out for being serious or dare me to find what pundits have to say. I
Once upon a time it was acceptable for 2 people with different takes to have a healthy conversation. No need to get insulted because I'm not as high on him as you are.
And there's nothing wring with being a solid 2nd line player. You should be happy if he develops into that. If he does more than great!
You aren't as high on Harris as I am, that's fine. I moved on without calling you out or crying about pundits.
And when it comes to pundits, in the 30 years i have been watching hockey i can't count how many players have been celebrated by these same pundits as being blue chip can't miss top level next big thing superstars only to fade away. Hundreds if not more.
I watch hockey and form opinions
I may be wrong and that's fine
i don't need someone to tell me what to think
Time will tell with Snuggerud
I hope he becomes all you hope and considering your expectations the Blues should definitely hold on to him

Also not in a rush to get rid of Anderson especially with only 1 retention spot remaining for next season. This is not the scenario where they would use it.

Not a good match</div></div>
I would love to get our hands on Holtz though.
What would the devils look for in return? Is WPGs 1st a starting point?

Yes i'm serious Snuggerud was drafted in 20s if i'm not mistsken
WPGs pick will be somewhere between 20-30
+ Harris who is for sure a solid bottom pairing dman who can play both sides with ease and has middle pairing potential
You don't have to like the offer but it's closer to the return you would get vs 5th overall
I think you are overrating Snuggerud
He's a good prospect but will not be a superstar and projects as a middle 6 player IF he reaches his potential.
Solid prospect but not the next coming of Pasternak

Deck chairs on the titanic
Although its a decent offer I don't think the Habs trade Anderson.
They have hope he returns to his previous form; when he's playing at his best he is a solid middle 6er.
If he gets back there he can help this team take a step or can be traded for a higher return.
If he doesn't they have the cap space and time to ride out his contract or buy him out the last year or two if need be.
Forward depth for the habs isn't an issue as no one's 100% ready to make the jump so he's not really blocking a roster spot.

He played first 2 weeks of the season in the AHL
Got recalled and never looked back getting better as the season progressed
Scored 17 goals in 66 games while being solid on the defensive side of the puck and an important PK player.
Not everyone in the NHL is an allstar. Depth players are also important

I don't think the ask would be too much. 3rd sounds about right, especially if it's Sens' pick as it's an early 3rd.
But i don't see Habs moving him or any other forward this offseason as they don't have much depth up front.
They need to bring in TOP 6 talent so that guys like Armia slot in better to where they belong on the depth chart.

RE: Armia Trade
Unfortunately Habs only have one retention spot for next season
I don't think they would use it in an Armia offseason trade since the return would be meh.
They probably hold on to it until deadline where they could cash in more retaining Salary; whether its Armia or another player (Savard, Dvorak)

I like the idea of bringing in a vet for 2 years to fill out the top 6 while prospects develop.
I think Duchene can also be a good candidate. Plays both C &RW and HABS were the runners up before he signed in Nashville.

Agreed. I think Newhook is on his way to being a solid 2nd line LW who can fill in at C as needed.
For next season i think Dvorak is a lock for 3C and Evans at 4C.
Offseason wish list would be a top 6 winger who can play with Dach and Newhook
a depth winger fin the bottom 6 - maybe Beauvillier at a home town discount. only 26 and showed some potential early in his career. Marty might be able to get him back on track.

Not sure the "stupid" was necessary. That's really mean. Hurt my feelings a little bit
Also, not really a troll. More like sarcasm.
In all seriousness getting 2 1sts and some decent prospects for that albatross of a Huberdeau contract is obviously not going to happen. Even with bad contract coming back.
And if Calgary got this sort of offer they wouldn't just "consider it" they'd jump on it without hesitation.
