We have to start contending
San Jose is not giving up a 2nd for Gallagher. Montreal would have to give us picks to take him. The Sharks are trying to get out of long overpay contracts, not take more on.

Myers is RHD, 50 % retained nets a positive assets</div></div>
except this is has no retention so youre asking the sharks to eat almost 4 million in cap space when in all reality they have less than 3 million because of Peterson and Okhoituk who are eligible for waivers that being said maybe like a 4th at the highest lol. But idk how Meyers ends up in san Jose we have 8 defenders who require waivers and the club likely wants thrun to play NHL games

Big Trade After First Round Exit
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AK50</b></div><div>Doubt San Jose does that.</div></div>
Sj absolutely does that. Offload the full EK contract, get a first rounder, get a young nhl ready RD, and Tavares who's on a contract two years less committed than EK and can retain 50% in one of his last two years and get a 1st plus as they come out of their rebuild in 3 years.

Timo trades that actually fit SJ needs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Smitty426</b></div><div>I'm trying to understand the OP with some of these values. I'll use the team I follow NJ abd the NYRs since probably know them due to dustsbce from NJ
NJD: Blackwood, Holtz, Mukhamadullin, 1st
NYR: Jones, Othmann, 1st
The 1sts cancel out, Holtz cancels out Othmam, Blackwood > Jones
Why the throw in of Muk?</div></div>
There is one thing every is leaving out of these Meier synopses. Since everyone will want to extend him, and San Jose will want the higher return of trading him with term, the biggest variable in determining his value are Meier’s wishes for his next deal. Where does he want to play? How big of contract? Money? Location? Cups?
For instance, if he says, “I will sign in Winnipeg for $5m but in New York for $10m”…the bids will be very different.

Well that’s just it, if the best prospects the canes have aren’t up for being moved, with how late that pick is I don’t see them winning a trade for Meier. I don’t even know if they are interested in him, these are just the teams I see on here most often.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>UBS_ARENA</b></div><div>Remember holmstrom and bolduc are in there as well. Not to mention a much better draft where 19 is probably more like 14-15 last year as well as debrincat being significantly better.
As for the contract what do you think he gets?</div></div>
In the absence of a top 10 pick, San Jose is going to want the closest thing to a sure thing they can get. SJS may still get some great prospects in the 20s of the 2023 draft, but it's not the kind of player they could get with a lot pick. They may ask as high as a Romanov or potential superstar in Raty in the absence of another late first.
To acquire a bubble elite RFA is going to hurt, whoever can pry him from SJS. And SJS has to admit that their window has closed, which they are still publicly stating they are in compete now mode.
As for money, I figure in the 9-10 range, assuming he shows last year wasn't a fluke.

Don’t forget Dylan DeMelo was a part of the EK65 trade. He probably would play with Ferraro which would keep Vlasic and Braun together.
Also Tierney is probably still on the team and would be your 4C

But yeah, might be one of the worst aged trades of all time.</div></div>
Karlsson's injury and the lack of depth contributed to that fall. we were missing a lot of players who would have otherwise been here.
could argue higher like 14-17th but that's a hypothetical debate with no real answer. I was just trying to be as realistic as possible.
obviously another thing that could be argued is with a better team Kane maybe doesn't self implode as much and is still on the team

Man that’s a great deal for Florida. Dump Hornqvist and get a solid D for giving up not much. I’d want the 2nd to take Hornqvist so it’s basically Samo for Ferraro. Seems like a bad deal for San Jose.

I fear Gregor might be available… but I really hope not.
he’s fast… like really fast but also plays hard checks and hits and has a plus shot, last year he was one of the best forwards night in and night out but was unlucky! I saw about a dozen highlight reel goalie saves on his shots. but he didn’t get discouraged and kept pushing. could easily see him getting 15-20 goals 35-40 points playing with a solid C instead of Bonino.
