You can have Holl and Fabbri for free.
Otherwise we'll keep Fabbri and buyout Holl.

That's a good question. Would you rather have a PPG C or a PPG wing?

I don't hate that Wings trade. I don't necessarily like it but 1 year of Rakell v. 3 more of Holl? I could be down with that.

It's not the player necessarily, it's the pay for performance.
PLD is $8.5M (until 2031!!) for 39 points.
Velano is $825k for 26 points.
Is PLD better? Sure. Not $7M better...

I agree with the Holl buyout.
I'd also buyout Petry because as long as he's on the roster Newsy will play him.
Red Wings need Matt Roy so bad.</div></div>
Would Tuomisto be any worse than Holl or Petry? :) He's having a pretty decent season in GR.
But I wouldn't buy out Petry. Wouldn't want to give Pittsburgh an extra half mil in cap space next year.

Chiarot - has been really good for most part of this year, good signing
Holl - hasn't played much and has filled in just fine, fine signing
Petry - has played fine and wasn't a signing
Plus, none of the prospects were ready and other UFAs were either too expensive or didnt want to come....so once again, wrong.</div></div>
Maatta is actually good.
Ghost gets cratered at ES. One of the worst in the league.
Chiarot was terrible last year and has improved to just not good this year.
Holl is a replacement level D

But none of them are as bad as Holl.
But would Detroit really be any worse this season with Holl playing each night over Petry?</div></div>
|shrug|
Petry's WAR is -.1 and Holl's is .6. So technically Holl has been better than Petry. But neither are good enough in the deployment Detroit has to use them in.

Yep, Holl will either be traded for "future considerations" to a team like Arizona that needs a contract or just bought out.
Also I think Raymond's next contract is going to start with an 8 and not a 7.

Need to find a goalie
No, Husso hasn't been great this year. GSAA of -6
Who's worse you might be wondering?
Gibson - GSAA of -12
Vasilevskiy - GSAA of -9
Oettinger - GSAA of -10
So I wouldn't expect yet another retread goalie for next season and ride out Husso/Lyon until Cossa is ready.

Another year of pain
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Octopus_Guy</b></div><div>Probably have to pay a price to trade Holl away. I think this roster is kind of realistic for next season & that scares me. It's running it back with a worse team in my opinion. I think Edvinsson will help but losing Ghost and Sprong is a big deal.</div></div>
Possibly correct on Holl, though Arizona is going to need both cap $$ to hit the floor and actual players as they have 0 D signed for next year (though 4 RFAs).
Ghost is having a great year and would definitely miss him though he's probably going to get good offers as an UFA. I hope he doesn't become another SY overpay on D.
I don't have a problem losing Sprong. Even with his goals I'm not a fan of his play.

Sure, still is a lot for a D who has a ton of hard minutes on him already at 25. I mean, I watched him play here in AZ. Wallinder and either Berggren *or* the 1st I could see. Forget Fabbri and the 2nd.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Fail4Nail</b></div><div>Ha, I've seen a lot of Red Wings AGM's post potential Zegras trades. All of you are undervaluing Zegras. He's going to cost at least Kasper or Danielson as the main piece coming back, stop trying to lowball. Back to back 60 point seasons on a terrible Ducks team. Last season he had 65 points and the Ducks had the second worst PP in the NHL......Easily can be an 80 point player.</div></div>
How many centers does Anaheim need? Seems like they're thin in the goalie pipeline and RHD.
