Detroit trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CJ1909</b></div><div>Neither is Brandon Hagel and he got 2 firsts because of his contract similar to Kubs, which does warrant a 1st with his contract and on pace for nearly 60 pts. Teams against the cap can plug in Kubs in the top 6/9 and he immediately produces.</div></div>
I didn't say you may not get a first for Kubalik, though I don't think anyone will pony up that asking price. I said he's not a 1st line winger. He's a 3rd line winger and PP specialist.
Plus Hagel is younger, cheaper and better than Kubalik and will still be a RFA when his current contract expires.

Bert's really having a tough season. Shooting percentage at 3% is terrible but likely won't stay that low.
Kubalik is not a 1st line winger though.

Deadline
Jones is nice, but Detroit is loaded with LHD prospects. Also probably not interested in Henrickson. Blais is probably there to make salary cap work. So how about Othmann, Blais, and the two picks?

People were very harsh on Seider early on this year and some said he regressed but, I actually thought he was playing very well despite the drop in his numbers. Situations & matchups matter quite a bit.</div></div>
Seider was playing with Chariot at the time. Just saying. :)

We signed him to essentially a 4th/5th defenseman salary and expected him to be a top pair guy. I am hopeful with an increase in the salary cap in the next couple years, his contract won’t become much of a hinderance if at all.
I think he’ll have a better year next season with tempered/realistic expectations.</div></div>
He's just not good. :) Honestly the worst move Yzerman has made. All stats say he's not good, hasn't been good, and probably won't ever be good.

I think the left side next year will be Chariott (boo!), Wallman and one of Wallinder/Edvinsson. With the right side of Seider/Hronek and some UFA to be name later. Add in someone like Hagg or Oesterle as 7th D and I wouldn't be unhappy with that setup on D.

How about Van gives us Horvat and Detroit takes JT Miller off your hands for "future considerations?" :)

Two things. 1. Keeping all three *decreases* their chances of winning the lottery and 2. The Coyotes have as much chance of winning the lottery as the Wings do... Namely zero. :D

Setting up a move for the future
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Yotes269</b></div><div>No not at all, which is why the deal won’t happen. Crouse is on pace to hit 30 goals, no one deals a 30 goal power forward</div></div>
I like Crouse, but he's still just a .5 PPG player. And being on pace for 30 doesn't mean he's going to hit it.
The question is more around what does Army do with both Crouse and Keller? Both very good players now but what are they going to be in 5 years when the Coyotes hope to actually be good? Chychrun is also only 24 and he's obviously not part of the future so what of the 2 higher end forwards? Does Army rebuild around 19 year olds Guenther and Geekie and they're the future rather than Crouse and Keller?

The inevitable my team's players are better than your team's players so you should give up more for them.
See EDM ACGM wanting top pair D and a draft pick for Pulijujarvi.

If Vrana isnt a fit going forward
Right now Vrana has almost zero trade value so this whole scenario is predicated on him performing well first in GR and then back in Detroit and so far he's been scratched 2x in GR.

We aren’t a bubble Team this year in this division. Maybe next year. We need to keep building the foundations for the future with assets who won’t be here when we’re good. Perron fits that, so if someone is tossing a 1st and second our way, I’m hitting the sell button.</div></div>
I like Perron, but yeah if someone's going to offer up something like this (even 2 2nds depending on the cap hit and player that comes back) the Wings should do it.

Ditto for Velano. I think the Wings will have excellent center depth for years to come with Larkin, Velano, Ras, Kasper, and Copp. Will they be superstars? Maybe Kasper but having 4-5 very good centers is a luxury.
And yes, I do think Copp will regain his form after his surgery. If not this year than next.
