<em>Better</em> =/= More valuable
Plenty of other factors to consider.

Jack Edwards needs to retire
I wanna feel bad and then I also don't.
He's struggling with whatever his medical condition is (I don't think he knows, he last said every test has come back negative) but he was also a bad commentator long before this started.
Now he's just a bad commentator who is having trouble speaking, which is an ugly combo.

Opposite can be said. With 2 1C's, 1RW, 1LW, and a 1D, they're barely hanging onto a division spot.

You can make that argument for sure, but I'd personally say no. With the margin they have to make up and the timeframe they have to do it, taking the chance is well worth it, imo. Like even if, starting last night, Minny won all of their remaining 10 games, they'd still miss out if LA won only 6 of theirs.
Can't afford to settle for the loser point right now so might as well give yourself any advantage you can in securing the extra point in OT rather than going to a shootout where you don't have that opportunity.

We already have been over that. Caufield is the better player and has the most potential and skills. Better production, better goal scoring production, not far defensively. Better production this year while being 2 years younger and coming back from an injury.
Also, when acquiring young player, you absolutely pay for potential lol. Nobody is giving up a top 10 pick in value for a 60 pts player if there wasn’t for potential

To get Necas, we would have to give up a big piece. So, our 2024 first. It could also be Caufield, but Carolina are adding in a Caufield - Necas swap as Caufield is undoubtedly the superior player

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NorthernLeafsFan05</b></div><div>Every team wants to win. Every team is backed by huge investors and owners with deep pockets. If you can't survive in a soft-cap league, then maybe you shouldn't have a team. There are no shortage of backers with deep pockets to take their place</div></div>
That's easy to say but teams need to be stable in order to maintain attendance and profitability.
For most teams to survive, they have to be competitive to draw in casual fans and entrenched to maintain hardcore fans.
If teams are moving around in lean years because of poor attendance, they are losing fans from both groups and people are less likely to invest in their merchandise as well.
Demand goes down forcing them to reduce prices across the board for tickets, merchandise, and advertising.
There are way too many factors to simply implement a soft cap and let the chips fall where they may.
It's in everyone's best interest to maintain existing teams, keep everyone competitive, and level the playing field.

Both systems allow for the big market teams to dominate while the smaller market teams struggle
While the systems may be different concept is still the same.
If either came to the NHL it would cause a lot of problems
The big market teams would thrive while the small market teams will struggle and not just with ticket sales.

That will cause the rich teams to become OP
The big 3 TOR, NYR, MTL would just outbid most of the teams for their players
Would also cause players to demand more money from teams to stay
Small market teams would have trouble with player retention and potentially collapse

whats the take on KK
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac2000</b></div><div>Why would they consider moving him? xGF/60 north of 3, ELITE defensive metrics, and the worst PDO of any Cane this year. He's been unlucky, not bad. Canadian hockey fans want to call him bad because of his time in Montreal, but he's coming off a 40 point year and even in a down year this year, he still can hit 30. Don't touch that contract. There are ways to keep Kotkaniemi and re-sign Guentzel, and almost all of them involve doing the smart thing. Moving Jordan Staal. Kotkaniemi with some offensively gifted linemates will be a 50 point guy, there are the signs of it. Watch him and its evident. He'll set up Brendan Lemieux whose all alone and Lemieux will hit the netting above the glass, or a cross-crease pass to a defenseman sneaking in that ends up going back into the slot or something dumb. Don't touch it.</div></div>
See what I mean about Canes fans not being able to admit a mistake?

But at the same time the swing was pretty bad. Still we have seen DOPS let worse things go and I know its Wilson but still</div></div>
Wilson (a repeat offender) LITERALLY clubbed Gregor in the face with a stick, from behind, completely unprovoked... That is the kind of incident that warrants an in-person hearing. I dont care if clipping Gregor wasn't the expected outcome, the action of swinging the stick was intentional and flat out dangerous. If Mo got 5 for what he did to Greig, then this should 100% gets 5 games minimum.
