Don’t want Foligno back even at league minimum, he was terrible last year.
They need to stop pissing away 1sts.
The rest of the league does not see Wheeler at 36 with a terrible contract with term as an asset. That 2nd year will make him almost impossible to move even with 50% retention.</div></div>
Well given he had 17G-43A-60P in 65 games played last season and boston would be acquiring him already at 4.125mil for 2 years if you count this season would be very easy for boston to retain another 50% on his 4.125mil contract and still come up on top of a deal next season if they were to get Wheeler then trade him on his last year of contract . That being said if boston were to retain 50% of his contract next year he would only have a cap hit of 2.06mil against boston and any team involved

Not that the trades are bad but they wouldn’t be the smartest from the Jets since Ehlers could be entering his prime rn if not started his prime years last season and Connor is arguably their best player on a good priced contract with some years left on it

Honestly if i were the Devils gm i wouldnt want to make any major moves this season that could take you out of top 10 pick contention this year, be able to extend some key guys on some what of a discount or reasonable contracts for the next 3-6 years to keep your young players then start pushing hard toward a cup contending team after the 2022/2023 season

From am outside perspective, it will probably work out better for the Devils in the next 2-4 years not signing him than it would’ve been to sign him. Devils have a lot of promising prospects coming up very soon and will need to space out contracts and how much they spend on each player appropriately to possibly create a cup contender for a long time

As for the Detroit trade I don't think Detroit is in a position to trade a first round pick next draft, I also grabbed some underrated really good young players from them. I'm not opposed to adding a 2025 2nd from them either. Also I am a little biased as I'm a Wings fan.
Thanks for your input.</div></div>

Fair enough, they both have pretty similar ceilings of they develop/used correctly, just figured given both contracts youd rather have the extra year of Suzuki and be able to “tank” essentially better lol since Drury could play in the NHL rn while Suzuki prob needs another year giving you better shot at not scoring and getting the 1st overall pick lol

Blow up
If your really trying to blow the team up and get the most value in the Vegas trade id take away the 1st rd pick-Thompson-Hague;
And instead:
Vegas gets-Hellebuyck-2023 1st rd pick (Jets) 2024 2nd rd pick (Penguins)
Winnipeg gets-Cormier-Brisson
And for New Jersey trade i only think you get one of the players wether it be Holtz or Bratt alongside with the 2024 1st rd pick
And idk if you noticed but you traded Hornquist twice

And your other statement is also true, Stars probably lost money due to Covid and Gaglardi wants to make it up ASAP.</div></div>
Could be newer fan trying to learn the ropes pf players ok the league or casual fan who doesnt pay too much attention but thats besides the point;
But yeah Dallas has been in a rough spot ever since their playoff run couple years ago. Expectations are high with this team given the talent just hasnt worked out for them in recent years and i don’t believe they can afford another rebuild, have to find some sort of success with their roster to build off of and stay competitive

He’s talking about the Robertson-Hintz-Pavelski line that popped off last season

Other than that only thing id change is taking the 3rd round pick away from MTL trade. A 2nd rd 2023 picl alone would prob get the trade dome but as far as Faska goes idk much about him either, to me with what ik he would just be a sweetner to the deal</div></div>
Also i dont think id sign Sandin only because Toronto would RFA him and would require Dallas to give up their 2023 1st and 3rd round pick (between 4.2mil-6.3mil) if they didnt match the offer so would have to trade back for that unless you traded for his player rights before hand or you offer a contract within that RFA compensation zone that Toronto cant match or double down and offer longer contracts with more money for 2023 1st-2nd-3rd rd picks with contract around 6.3mil-8.4mil

Canes most likely take that deal tbh pretty fair from what i see.
You could prob get 2023 1st instead of 2024 first from Detroit and a 2024 or 2025 2nd imo given what Jets are giving up.
All the trades look pretty decent to me ngl, prob change Drury to Suzuki tho for the Canes. Year younger and just as high of a player ceiling. Canes in their situation just need nhl ready guys where i see Suzuki needing 1 more year before being brought up to the league, But im getting from this as a 2-4 year fast track rebuild so to benefit you more prob want the younger prospect
