Some random possibilites
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Acegamer</b></div><div>Marchessault is going to be a competitive UFA to get, so you will have to give him some security., and yah last year or two may not work out, but he seems like someone who is just getting better every year. Lindholm's value is lower now, I think 6-7 is the max he gets. And you aren't winning any cups with our current forward group. Look at it this way.
You are "trading" Zacha, Coyle and Ullmark for JG Pageau, Jake Guentzel, Johnathan Marchessault, Elias Lindolm, a 1st, 2nd, and a 3rd. This team would have 4 goal scoring wingers, decent play making centers, and i've recovered all of our lost picks. Why wouldn't you do this?</div></div>
I agree Marchessault could take a contract not far off that in order to acquire. I just think the team that does it will regret it sooner or later. It could well be this year that he falls off, and even with him the Bruins aren't going to be cup favourites right away so buying him for the short term doesn't make a ton of sense with the teams plans.
I also agree Lindholms value dropped from this time last year, but not by that much. Particularly after a strong playoffs, his number still begins with a 7. He's a more sensible target for this team than Marchessault, and you'll need some of that Marchessault money to get him. And then you'll need to fill the spot with a winger with a good value contract - that's where keeping Zacha comes in.
As to Coyle, I think he's better than Pageau at this stage and the money isn't that far off.

Might want to plan ahead because Leon will be getting at least a $4-5 million raise.
In other words, no Stamkos unless it's a 1 yr deal (highly unlikely because he'll be looking for a retirement deal).
Unless you switch Mantha into a 1 yr deal (he might agree to a short term deal).

Grzelcyk is a hard hard no.
I don’t think guentzel gets 10 more like 9 mill.
Maybe Utah would offer him double digits but I think it would be a regret very fast.
Not adding a pick to that LA trade, Geekie out performed PLD this season as is actually a hard worker. Not to mention they are freeeing up 6.5 mill and we are obligated to PLD for 7 more years after. PLD+ 24 1st for Geekie is the most id do for them

There was an article today discussing how LA could buy out PLD and get out of much of the contract without destroying their cap. If you want to roll the dice on him, prob better to wait for that and sign him to a prove it deal.

Trade Deadline - Low Risk High Reward Options
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Acegamer</b></div><div>You are forgetting that Calgary doesn’t have a ton of leverage here. Everyone knows that Hanafin is not going to re-sign. They could be stubborn and lose him for nothing. But I think if they get a 1st and a good prospect. They will take it. You wouldn’t get an offer of a 1st and 2 good prospects.</div></div>
That's what I'm expecting for Hanifan, a first and good prospect, and probably another player to make the cap work or another pick for retention.

Trade Deadline - Low Risk High Reward Options
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Shaun80</b></div><div>I suggest Lohrei and bruins fans say no chance. Bruins fans offer Lysell who's pretty much the same tier of prospect. Hanifan makes Lohrei expendable. Hanifan doesn't help replace DeBrusk who's probably gone in the off season where Lysell could.</div></div>
Yeah I don’t understand why Boston fans would be hesitant on dealing Lohrei for Hanafin, if the goal is to sign him. Top 4 would be solidified for the next 4 years minimum and he’s not going to sit in Providence that long waiting to play. He’d be wasted on the 3rd pairing. If you can deal him for a signed Hanafin and basically make it close to a one for one, pull the trigger.

Typically yes but I think Boston has the depth everywhere else to get away with a more practical Center. It’s not the usual was but I think they could make it work if they get super deep at c.
I wonder if there’s a way to make a hertl deal work.

I wouldn’t do it as Boston. I think you can find som solid c depth without blowing up a roster that is running smoothly

NMC - I think it’s safe to assume that Edmonton is on most of them. I love Leon, but I don’t believe Edmonton trades him and I don’t believe Boston can realistically secure him with NMC’s

Not without Carlo in the deal, and truth told I'd much rather see Poitras coming back than Coyle.
I don't think there's a fit between Edmonton and Boston: if the Oilers are trying to be competitive post-Draisaitl, the pieces Boston would need to offer (Carlo, Poitras, Swayman because of Ullmark's NTC, etc) take such a large bite out of the Bruins' roster that they'd be spiting themselves in the short term to do it.

Zero need to sign Hanifin… signing him would lock Lohrei’s potential down to 3D… instead get a versatile 3D and have lohrei play a bigger role.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Gofnut999</b></div><div>Nope
Edm keeps Ekholm. Boston keeps 1st/Coyle. Edm retains 50% on Campbell. Anything less than 50% is a dealbreaker. At 2.5m he can serve as a backup or is moveable. More than that he’s a long term problem.
Somone convinces RNH to waive when he has no desire to and Ullmark too…maybe we can talk.</div></div>
Campbell at 50 percent at 50% retained is still overpaid by about 6 million. What’s that worth?
I do think there is a trade there with Edmonton depending on whether they are not on his NMC. I’d rather try to make a three team trade involving Hertl than RNH personally

He’s better than skinner and people need to stop minimizing what he’s done. It’s OK to say you wouldn’t give up Nugent Hopkins for him without disparaging a good d corp.
Boston plays a solid defensive game plan, but Ullmark and Swayman are big parts of that success.
