Gone Golfing
I find it hilarious that people are always like you cannot fit all those players under the cap, you are in cap hell. And yet good teams manage to pull it off one way or another. Washington is a good team. Despite, Minnesota declines.

Sabres’ projected number 9 makes more sense here. I don’t think a top 5 pick would be involved here.

Trying to be realistic on Fiala
In my opinion:
If the pick is top ten, then it’s just a pick for Fiala.
If the pick is from 11 to 20, a middle six center has to come back with MN adding a third or so.
A pick lower than 20th is not on the table imo.
P.S. When Rossi comes to the NHL (hopefully next season), Hartman gets a second line wing job. That’s how to replace Fiala.

He was not a bad guy. Just became slower at some point (age related). And given the fact that Dumba is not great defensively, this backfired. Now when he has a true two way D with great defensive skills like Borodin, he starts to bounce back.

His inconsistency is driving me mad. Same with Fiala btw. But I think Fiala with extension is a better asset than Fiala pending free agent.

He might get a very good return by selling Fiala at ~2.5 mil to a contender at the tdl.

With all respect, I don’t think Minnesota is interested. Value wise it might be ok. But we would rather have one great asset than a couple of good ones.

(ANA/VGK) - Kesler, Moore for Dadonov and 2nd Round Pick [REVERSED]
I think that the league should send a clear signal that it is a serious organization in case there is no rock-solid proof that Ottawa did not receive Dadonov's no-trade list by the due date. This one is not similar to Berglund's situation.

(CHI/MIN) - Fleury for conditional 2022 2nd round pick
Ode to MAF:
On the ruins of freezy Babylon
King Billy Guerin sat
Wanting to build an Empire
To capture a Holy Grail
He asked the Gods of the fire
How in the world I can
Defeat the people of mountains
Win over arch city men
The Gods responded him calmly:
You gotta meet one of us
In the city of winds and hockey
Playing in goal for the Hawks
The old king started his journey
Equipped with a second round pick
Reached the good ole Chicago
Found there the goal god Fleury
He said: o the almighty
Please show me light,
Come to my ruined empire
And kick mediocrity out
The old God responded shortly
I ll do it but for a steep price
For a couple of cans of Surly
And a steak dinner at Mike’s
And now he is headed forward
To the land of the lakes and ice
Where the snow is so white and silky
Where the people re so patient and nice
Let’s hope that he s successful
In kicking mediocrity out
That he is never out after 9PM
In the neighborhood of Dinkytown
And if we are winning a cup this year
There will be a follow up
Thank you for your attention
Wish you success and love

Nobody s perfect) But with him it is really important that he is in a mood. And by the eye test, if he thinks he is not doing well, he just stops trying and thinks that the game is done, that is not good for the Leafs.

Toronto gets a KHL goalie. He played rather good this season. But there were some serious consistency issues over the past couple of years to the extent that Sibir fans wanted him out asap. My take: let someone claim him and try again.
UPD: don’t judge by his stats. He can have 10 horrible games and then make a couple of shutouts to compensate. It really depends on his mood.

Actually, one of my top picks for KHL rookie of the year. Have won a top line spot over some very experienced players, and keep in mind that Minsk does not have a limit on foreign players whilst most Russian teams do, so they literally could have brought in as many top foreigners as they could.

Yeah, Dumba might never be back to his previous offensive numbers, but he is gritty, provocative, he is a leader, and he is our boy. We the fans love him. If he would take a $6 mil long term contract similar to Brodin’s, I ll be good with that.

Although let's be honest, if he played for any other team, he'd have a great deal of value. It's funny how a guy can be quite good for a long time, have a great contract and still be a cap dump.</div></div>
To me he is like a little bit worse than Joey Manson whom has just been traded for an equivalent of two seconds. But we have plenty minute eating defensemen and we need puckmovers. Also, our left side is worse than our right side.

Don’t bother explaining. He does that all the time. Now, as a MIN fan, the trade is too blockbuster to my taste. If there is a possibility to acquire Kerfoot alone, I would be considering that. But, for sure, we do not have a room for Holl and plenty of good wingers.
