Having a 3rd pair guy being a righty isn't a massive deal, it's certainly not worth taking a roster spot from one of the prospects. If we're talking Shattenkirk or at least a top 4 contributor maybe but not a guy with 13 career points.</div></div>
Ok fair enough. I thought it was a match for both teams.
Bellemarre would be interesting for MTL.

Realistically we could just trade Streit (with 50% cap retained) and Bellemare for the 2nd pick (though that might be generous on the Flyers part). If we're taking cap dump (Desharnais) as well the price would be more picks (additional 3rd's / 4th's I'd guess).</div></div>
The Flyers have ONE right hand d-man, how can you have no use for Pateryn ?

Size/toughness definitely improve but Idk if we are further ahead, if the ask is only Carr, DD, and a 2nd I'd do it probable but I feel it'll be a higher price (rumors of league interest in Iggy from teams like Edmonton).</div></div>
Beauchemin has another year on his contract so we are helping them by doing this trade.
Beauchemin for Desharnais
Iginla for Carr and 2nd
For this year, we have enough cap space for this trade to happen.

Essentially they're throwing in him because they added sergs and a first but I know where you're coming from. If I were the Habs I'd just straight up stay away from adding debt. Mark my words duchene is going to Carolina for either hanaffin or slavin</div></div>
Desharnais is there for cap reasons and it gives Colorado a center to finish the year.

Galchenyuk is better when he plays on wing. That's my opinion so we need a center.

Depends if we sign him before July 1st. There is a really easy work around to this. Agree to a deal with Radulov now and only sign it on July 1st. That way MTL doesn't need to protect Radulov. The player takes the risk that the GM goes back on his word but I don't think there is any GM taht would do that with such a high profile player. It would be media/ethical suicide.</i></div></div>
The NHL said they could penalize teams trying to cheat like this with deals before the expansion draft.
I think we protect:
Galchenyuk
Pacioretty
Gallagher
Danault
Byron
Shaw
Radulov
Weber
Petry
Beaulieu (Emelin or Beaulieu could be traded this summer)
Price

Dallas-Montreal
I think this trade helps Montreal for the playoffs with more depth also both players played in Chicago, Bergevin knows them and they won cups. It helps Dallas because they don't keep these players beyond this year.
Montreal would still need a second line center (Hanzal ?).

Beaulieu is like Girgensons. Both 1st rounders that need to change teams to maybe resurrect their career. de la Rose is capable to play as a 4th line center, he did it but Mitchell took his place here.
