Just stop being a troll already… Any team would love to have Hughes but would any team really want Reilly? No I don’t think so. Just watch when Hughes defensive game gets better. You’re gonna wish that you never said those comments… once he is better defensively he will be a top 5 d man in the league….

Vegas as in LAS VEGAS NEVADA. And yes, Joe Haggearty is a hack, but writers at the Athletic, you know, the magazine also seem to think Seattle will may take Zboril. More likely than Lauzon. Not my words, just what I read.

Are you confused? Eric Engels didn't write anything about Zboril. Eric Engels squashed the Danault to Seattle rumor.
Joe Haggearty mentioned Seattle selecting Zboril and a lot of people tend to agree.

Vegas has him as the odds on favorite o be selected. Also Joe Haggearty has mentioned this and some writers in the Athletic seem to agree. Zboril has a great relationship with Jay Leach in their Providence days.

I did hear a rumor that NJ trying to put a package together for Quinn and drafting Luke.</div></div>
I’d rather the 2nd. Moore buyout is 3 of 4 years at 833k cap hit, year 2 it’s 1.33. So you are saving $ over burying him year 1 and 2. Year 3 and 4 you are out 833k. Cap likely going up by then too. But it is nice to have the other dead space back, here ya there.
If they could do a 3rd and some pieces to get Seattle to take him…all in.

Lol, nah, if we could get a 4th for Kase i’d be happy, or use him in a package to Seattle to take Moore. 5 concussions in 2.5 years, plays a soft game, mediocre production for the most part. Great advanced metrics….pffft….means little. Rather give the roster spot to someone else.

He also knows that he can take more then 5.5-6 per and get a cup. He know the Bruins were after him for the trade deadline. The deal also is what the market is (RNH) unless he does not want to win and wants to take the money.
As far as Moore we need to ship him so if not Seattle then someplace else.
You do not want to trade Kase?</div></div>
I don’t want to sign Kase. If you are going to trade him, trade his rights.
I don’t see KP getting that kind of $ or term at his age coming off a down year.

That's a pretty powerful, well-constructed team. I think you'll have to pay more -- substantially more -- for Murphy, especially with any retention, but it makes sense to pay whatever it takes.

Getting all three Hughes brothers
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AgentWebster</b></div><div>As a Devils fan what is the deal breaker for you in this trade? I mean say Jack E is 100% you still say NO and if so why?</div></div>
For me, It's a lot of things. To start, Eichel is older and making a lot more money with less team control at the end of his contract. There is no guarantee that Hughes can't be an equal or better player in a few years.
My next issue with him is his attitude towards the team with the injury and their lack of success. Even if the injury issues go away, NJ is still on its way out of a rebuild and probably won't be as competitive as he would like in 2-3 years. Those issues could reappear and his NMC would make it even tougher to move him if it became a big problem.
Finally, NJ still has a lot of holes that need to be filled. They need a top line LW (assuming Holtz can become the #1 RW), a number 1 defenseman and a very good defenseman to round out the top 4. The two firsts could potentially fill two of those holes while trading them away would push the issues down the road and prolong the rebuild. All that trade does is give them an upgrade at their 1C for probably only a few years.
All things considered, it would be tough to convince me that trading for Eichel would end positively for NJ.

Actually the fact that he likely wouldn't be selected in the expansion draft probably helps his value because teams won't be worried about trading for him then losing him.

Getting Gaudreau Forsberg and
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bruins1054_gmb</b></div><div>I'm not buying that. Why trade assets for someone you could have had for free?</div></div>
Lots of reason, but here the 3 main ones
1. Teams get "x" amount of contract slots and if a team is towards the max they may not want to eat up a spot and save it for the TDL or NCAA FA's
2. Claimed players need to stay on the NHL roster all season or they have to be offered back to their original team
3. Depending on the players cap, if they claim them it's the whole hit. If they clear then teams can try and trade for players and get the other team to retain.
This off-season was also drastically different and team had no chance to see players in pre-season games i.e. couldn't scout. Seny was injured the end of last year and with no pre-season no one was going to claim him or most players that went through waivers to start the year. Unless a player fills a team need or is a no doubt upgrade then most will clear waivers. Tinordi is a perfect example. He's a depth d-man, but post had a need for a big LHD with the injuries they had. If they were healthy they wouldn't have claimed Tinordi

So we've gone from no trade value to minimal value and moved the discussion to the expansion draft.....which has absolutely nothing to do with this conversation.

A lot of players (almost all) cleared waivers to start the year, doesnt mean those players don't have value.

Next years roster options moving on from Krejci
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Silkysmooth42</b></div><div>A few things:
1. Tuukka for 5 years? come on
2. Krejci is gonna be cheaper than RNH by a bit so might as well stick with him until he shows signs of slowing down.
3. Carlo for 4 years is a problem, either another bridge to take him to 26 years old or you lock him up... (6 or 7 years at 5-5.5 million)
4. It depends on this year obviously but Hall isnt gonna be that cheap. Also bruins probably dont want him (you are screwed trying to resign McAvoy, Studnicka, Debrusk, etc...)
5. What is the point in bringing in Oleksiak? Zboril and Lauzon are doing just fine
6. Not gonna trade away Smith after 1 year after they just signed him lol
7. Ritchie die?
8. No Taxi Squad next year (im guessing you meant to just scratch them)
And now for my opinion:
1. Brian Elliot is unnecessary. could just use Vladar</div></div>
Good takes.
Additiion. Kase - my guess us they move on from him. Tying him to long term significant $ with his concussion history is not a good idea. I see him being exposed to Seattle if he is not traded.
