If Matt Murray fetches a 1st, I see no reason how Fleury with 2 years left can't fetch a 2nd/3rd

I know its a pretty easy speculation link for Murray to the Avs to fill some air time and articles, but as it stands Avs goalies were good just unhealthy and are still under contract for next season. Murray isnt an upgrade that would justify them to shift the net and eat into valuable cap space
Avs should explore the goalie market for a clear upgrade that fits their price tag but they arent forced to make a move from what we know right now, fully expect both goalies to be healthy to start next season so they arent forced to making a move this offseason</div></div>
I think upgrading your offence would make you an even bigger threat considering you still have loads of cap space.
I like your D and Byram + Timmins coming up is gonna be huge for you guys.

Completely agree. I still think trading for Murray would be an overreaction by the Avs. Murray and Grubauer are pretty much equal

much easier to hide a bad forward over a d man who plays 15 - 18 min a night. And Okposo although on a terrible deal, could still hit 20-35 points

It would make sense tbh.
RD offensive, replacing Schultz. He's just not good defensively but then again in a 3rd pairing role, he would just need to be passable. Unless he's paired with JJ, then that's utter disaster

And frankly the latest rumors I've seen don't even list Minnesota as one of the top 5 or so suitors at this point, which is good, because for the price Penguins fans want, and the contract Murray wants, I'll gladly stay far away. We already have Kahkonen ready to go.</div></div>
Honestly, I'm not very high on Murray.
I would be perfectly okay with a Hartman for Murray swap. A lot of fans need to realize his value isn't that much, and BEST case scenario is the one I listed on this trade.

I have no idea what the goalie market will be like. I only see Minnesota as a potential candidate because of Bill Guerin. Jim said he's exclusively looking at younger players so that's why I chose Kunin

That's why I wrote pens add a little. But let's not act like Matheson's massive contract is movable. He's a 3rd pairing D who can slide into the top 4 when needed

Hornqvist being moved is realistic. It's a bit of a luxury having him bottom 6 now and we desperately need to improve the D core

I don’t blame the coaches though. Galchenyuk just wasn’t good enough to play in the top 9, and because of where he was drafted, that was viewed as a terrible thing by the media.</div></div>
I realized all this when he was moved to my team (the Pens).
He just seemed lazy, didn't want to win puck battles. He has a decent shot too but never really makes the most of it

Value is fair but I don't think Winnipeg should be pressed to win just yet.
Most of their core is in the mid 20s. Adding Petry at 32 gives them a window of 3 years to win. I love Petry but every player regresses at some point.

The one guy I do feel bad for is Galchenyuk.
The media was eating him alive while he was battling a substance problem. The coaches kept punishing him for no reason.
Living in montreal, I still don't know how Mario Tremblay is employed. The guy single handidly put the Habs franchise back 10 years

While Subban may not have regressed as quickly on the habs, I still think the best part of that trade for the habs was getting rid of Subban’s attitude and adding Shea’s leadership. There’s no doubt that Shea has done wonders for this franchise and it’s young players.</div></div>
Absolutely. Weber is great to have in the room. I just think it puts more pressure on the Habs to win now as he's 35 and Price is hitting his mid 30s

That too. Also taking into consideration that the Devils are rebuilding and don't have the same talent to make Subban excel in what he does.
30-40 points is realistic on that team.
But on Nashville, he was doing well even with Josi above him

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kotkaniemi15</b></div><div>Sergachev is playing very sheltered minutes on one of the best teams in the NHL. Sure he put up some points in the regular season, but if you watch the Lightning in the playoffs, he doesn’t have much effect on the outcome of the game one way or another. 40% of his points are on the PP, and he’s obviously not a defensive stalwart. While I do think that if Mikhail improves this could end up as a bad deal for the habs, I don’t see anything (yet) that makes me regret the trade at all.
You’re not giving MB enough credit for getting rid of PK Subban. Weber’s deal isn’t bad, and if he ends up slightly overpaid for a year or two, it’s not the end of the world. I’d certainly rather have the good and the bad of Weber instead of the bad and the bad of Subban.
Edit: Added in the “yet”.</div></div>
I think we see it differently.
I don't think Subban would have regressed like this on Montreal. He fit the system well and was a great offensive dman.
Sergachev is also 3rd pair because of the talent in front of him blocking him from moving up.
Columbus series Sergachev was an absolute beast making great defensive plays to save his team. He is 100% noticeable and will only get better from here.
He is also not being rushed because there's no need to. He's got a better chance of hitting his ceiling like this as he gets to learn the game at a better pace learning from the likes of Victor Hedman and McD.
