St Louis 2019-20 amp Future
I don't see CBJ parting with Korpisalo when they are going to lose Bob this off season already. We'd probably have to give up more to get them to take Allen, or get less of a return.

LOL Yeah. It seemed like every time he'd have a chance to wind up and let it fly, he'd snap his twig and send the puck 5 feet in front of him to the opposition.

Doug Armstrong hangs up the phone as soon as EDM mentions Robert Thomas. Especially for Kassain and Puljujarvi.

Pietrangelo to Philly Vorachek to CBJ
Straight up Petro for Voracek might fly, key word being might. But why not go for Panarin if you are going to immediately trade him to CBJ? If STL has any chance of landing him from them it's going to have to include a player of that caliber.

I'm not too keen on giving up Kyrou in that package. And the need for Stone isn't there. You already have Schwartz that is most likely going to be paired on a different line, and his numbers are comparable with a lesser cap hit. All rumors I've heard, and they are just that rumors, have Tarasenko on a line with O'Reilly. I don't see the need to do the trade. You're only helping out OTT, while hoping Fabbri and Kyrou don't come back to bite you in the rear end.

Not to mention within the division...
Staal had a helluva year last season, from pretty much out of nowhere. Don't expect him to duplicate that again.

Why are there not more swing/3 way trades
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>blues_0303</b></div><div>You would want to cut out the middle man if possible but just like SJS did with FLA/OTT they facilitated a trade between rivals. Organizations won't trade to a direct rival especially if both are in a competitive window. CBJ wouldn't do it and PIT wouldn't move Kessel to CBJ.
Armstrong would talk to Tarasenko first to let him know the plan but ultimately the point of three way trades is to facilitate a move that can't be made directly. In this case, I was using this as a swing trade example similar to what SJS did with OTT/FLA. But the difference is the assets being moved are of much higher value and larger scale. The big thing with these is the middle man can really clean up with asset return on these. SJS essentially cleared up cap space while getting draft picks just by filling out some paperwork.</div></div>
I realize this is all hypothetical. And I get the idea of coming out ahead by being the 'middle man' in this type of trade. I just think Tarasenko wouldn't go for this. Plus, Panarin would be more coveted by the Blues than Kessel.

If you acquire Panarin, why in the world would you turn right around and flip him? You run the risk of angering your top player by acquiring then immediately getting rid of him. I just don't see the benefit of getting rid of him if you actually acquire him.

Tavares Panarin etc
You're absolutely robbing EDM there. I think you only get Lucic(to balance the contract dump of Berglund), and PoolGuy with a pick for that package. RNH will take more going back IMO.
The CBJ trade I like. Steen to me seems like a throw in to make the salaries work. Like hopefully they would take it to stay cap compliant(For the record, I don't know their cap situation right now).
If all this happens at or before the draft... then MAYBE Tavares is a possibility. I still think it takes more money though.

I'd almost rather make it Sanford instead of Foley. Don't know why, but I'm not keen on shipping that guy out right after acquiring him and then signing him.

Thank you! I don't see why nearly every trade proposed on here has him included as part of the deal. Unless it blows Armstrong away, he's one of the 4 "untouchables."

I think STL would take that trade. And look for another goalie in FA or possibly a trade and include Darling in that package. Perhaps go after Grubauer with a package.

I'm with you. I'd rather move Thompson over Kostin. He seems to be the first prospect everyone wants to trade. Thompson at least has some body of work in the NHL, and given a bigger role on a team might do better. But I don't see a consistent 60pt player in him.

Where I would agree with you, I don't think STL makes the offer with Kyrou in it. Starting to think they believe he's become an "untouchable" prospect like Thomas.

St. Louis doesn't do this if Schwartz is part of the package. Replace him with Tage Thompson, Sammy Blais, or Robby Fabbri and the 2018 1st rounder we got from WPG and I think they do it.

No way that Stars trade happens. We're not going to give up 3 of the 4 prospects who were considered "untouchable" at the deadline, especially to a division rival.

While it most likely will not happen, I'd love to have Panarin. I'm sure Tarasenko would too, considering he tried to get management to sign him from Russia before the Hawks did.

Blues had Dennis Wideman from 2005-2007. So it's possible they go for Chris based on that logic.

That trade doesn't get done with anyone below Parayko. Also disagree with the signing of Green. Already have an albatross contract with Bouw, not sure they'd want to risk another one so soon.
I'd ask for a 2nd rounder in return as well, maybe even go so low as a 3rd. Otherwise, I'd classify this as a good "hockey trade." I'm a Parayko fan, but that helps both teams out. Pull the trigger Army.

They already won the cup
St. Louis wouldn't even consider a 1 for 1 that includes Rob Thomas. They covet him WAY to much. Now if you change that to Tage Thompson or Sammy Blais, maybe even Jordan Kyrou, I think they jump on it. If you want to pry Thomas from them it's going to take more than a 1 for 1.
