HEY HO SABRES NEXT SEASON V2
This Avs fan would do that in a heartbeat. It's an overpay for Colton if you ask me.
At the same time, I think he brings a lot of what Buffalo needs. Maybe there is something here.

I'd love to keep both, but I'm taking Walker if I have to choose one. Manson can be replaced easier at the next deadline or earlier.

I don't agree with much of your comment. I think he's worth both the price and the salary. I may not have the right team though.

Also too much in the PHI deal. Maybe Cristall straight up, no 2nd.</div></div>
Avs are really high on Ritchie and likely decline anyway. He's having a great year and has a skill set that the team covets. It sounds like they pretty much took him off the table in trade talks.
I can see your point too though, and it's possible the 1st is a pick you won't want to give away. There are arguments against this trade from both sides.

All part of the Yzerplan.

Not unless Landeskog can't return. I'm sure they'd love to keep at least one but probably can't afford either.

Almost all of Kakko's points have come at even strength over the past two years. I like that.
And when I say high ceiling, I'm not suggesting he's gonna be a top line player. An effective middle six forward with 40-50 points, mostly at 5v5, for the next decade is quite attractive. The risk is if he can get back to that point.

Colton and Olausson for Kakko and Robertson? Might not solve the immediate problem for the Rangers but it adds RW in the system. And Robertson is pretty blocked.

cap circumvention
It's more likely Landeskog's career is over than it is he plays in the playoffs. This isn't a TB or Vegas situation. It's a timeline that has been stated for a long time.
And as others have stated, the earliest he could return is the third round. How effective do you think he'd even be after not playing hockey at all for two years and coming off multiple surgeries and rehabs?
Every now and then LTIR is used for what it is intended. This is a pretty clear case of that.

SHARKS HAVE THE WORST COACH AND GM IN NHL HISTORY
Tell Greer I'll give him two 4th rounders and a failed prospect for Eklund and Bordeleau in the offseason. If necessary he can throw in one of the second rounders for the coming draft, but it's not a deal breaker.

Claim Bjornfot and slash or Raanta
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PuckLuck_77</b></div><div>Correct, Bjornfot only played in Henderson for a LTIR conditioning stint. This is the first time he's been placed on waivers by Vegas.
And I gotcha. Not trying to rain on your parade, just letting you know it's not likely he gets through to Colorado. However, if you guys (or any other team outside of LA, for that matter) also puts in a claim, it means LA has to play him on their roster for essentially the rest of the season. If no one but LA puts in a claim, since he was theirs at the start of the year, they can automatically place him in Ontario. Weird nuances to the rules.</div></div>
If he didn't pass through with Vegas, then that changes my opinion a bit with respect to LA claiming him. Not sure if the relationship has soured at all, but it seems possible they'll just move on. We'll have to see.
I actually like the waivers rules (or at least think they make sense). There will never be a perfect balance between allowing a team to have control over their players and ensuring guys aren't totally blocked, but I think what they have does help.

Claim Bjornfot and slash or Raanta
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PuckLuck_77</b></div><div>I'm 98% certain LA will. Similar to the ****emo situation earlier, they will get him if only to place him straight down to Ontario (if no one else puts in a claim) for LD depth, which they are sorely lacking right now. Plus they're trying to make Ontario a team that can compete for a Calder.</div></div>
Lol on the censoring of a guy's name. How silly.
Didn't he clear again in Vegas though? I know he played games for their AHL team. If so, then I don't think LA can just claim him and stash him in the AHL.
I could be wrong here. I'd need to look at the transactions and the rules. I thought that was where things stood though.
Edit: He played AHL games for Vegas but no waivers were listed. Maybe it was conditioning or something. Regardless, my point of posting was that the team should put in a claim. If it works out, then great. If someone else takes him before it gets to Colorado, then it is what it is.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PuckLuck_77</b></div><div>Kings are VERY likely to reclaim Bjornfot. And since they're lower in the standings, LA will get him before Colorado. The question is whether or not anyone lower than LA puts in a claim.</div></div>
I thought about that possibility but don't think LA will end up claiming him. I'm not super confident in that statement, but I see a situation where it's time for both team and player to move on. We'll see. I'd like him to fall to Colorado though. Stranger things have happened with players on waivers before.

Sharks have everything avs needs
A couple issues for Colorado. One, they can't afford to keep Ferraro. He'd be a great add, but it only works for this year. Two, they need a roster spot for Kovalenko. Sturm takes that.
So while the pieces makes sense to a degree, they don't in the long run.
Kahkonen for like a 4th makes sense though. Just do that.
