they should tank. Adding Lambert, Wright or another top centre would go a really long way

Bro, they traded a Calder finalist goalie because they didn't want to spend 3mil on him. They're already there

Figured as much. Doubt Petry would waive his NMC to go and Weber is good but in a few years will not be worth the 7.8 million he's being paid now. And all us Armchair GMs say that WPG want established D and 2C so trading Josh Brooks or Cale Fleury wouldn't provide that. Pipeline dream at best

Instigators Eichel Mock to NYR
I love Eichel, but eww.
And i agree, people are nuts if they truly believe Eichel is going to fetch 3-4 eye popping pieces.
GMs are not going to gut their entire team for one player. That's counter productive.
And i know, they are not the same tier, but O Reilly is an example, so are guys like Mcdonagh and EK65 (before SJ imploded)
Guys like Thomas, Parayko, Sergachev, Meier they weren't part of any deals like people would have assumed.

About 40% too much. An Eichel trade return will be much less than people Think, but still to much for teams to pursue.

Seem deep at D, with him being more like a Brodin maybe he could be got, but yea you are probs right, he is locked up for a reasonable number for time and is good. Gonna take a lot more to pry him out.

Canes Off Season 20
No. Ottawa does not need 3 years of Jake Gardiner struggling through 14 minutes a night.
They have Chabot, Wolanin, Reilly under contract for next season and Brannstom and Lajoie in waiting.
IF they wanted another LHD it would be to replace Boroweicki's role and they'd grab a UFA like Bitetto who'd sign for less on a 1 or 2 year deal.

Checking
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tkecanuck341</b></div><div>The dollar amount isn't the issue, the term is. Both of those guys have 3 years remaining, while Carter only has two. The Kings have plenty of cap space now, but the first of the kids (Vilardi, Clague, Anderson, etc.) will need extensions in 2022. That will likely be around the time they start pursuing free agents.
The Kings would rather just eat Carter's contract for two more seasons. They're not looking to be competitive before then, so there's no reason to trade for those guys.</div></div>
In the final year of Ghost's and JVR's contract, LAK currently only have Quick (1 year left), Kopitar (2 years left), and Doughty (lots of year left) that would have a cap hit over $2.65m. I don't think the JVR and Ghost contracts would hurt their ability to resign any players that would need raises. But I can understand wanting to leave roster spots open for younger players and wanting a little more flexibility with $$.

Bunch of moves
Chicago says no. Seabrook has played 1100 games with them. He’s a leader in the locker room. His contract sucks and I think Hawks are content with letting him play bottom pairing minutes as he ages. I also think Hawks don’t give up on Strome yet. Dach is the real deal but he’s also still 19 and has only played 60 games. Don’t want to give up on Strome too soon. Giving him up now likely regresses the offense until Dach starts to emerge.
Only benefit of getting Vlasic is he’ll be close to his nephew Alec Vlasic and help groom him for the next few years.

Ugh what the hell JR
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KakkoForMauriceRichardAward</b></div><div>MP is their 2nd best defensive d-man at this point, moving him is a no IMO. Trade Dumoulin before him</div></div>
What? If Pettersson is the 2nd best defensive D man, than what does that make Dumo? Dumo is the last (well 2nd last after Marino) defenseman that the Pens should consider trading. He only costs $4.1M, which is cheap for a top pair d-man. There is no way that any team would be giving up the value that Dumo has to the Pens. Ideally JR could have found a Matheson type player that is a RD instead of an LD, but he didn't and now he has over $16M in LD. Something has to give and it won't be Dumo...I hope (JR better not touch him)

Turris buyout
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DiehardRedWingsFan58</b></div><div>Exactly, Right now buying him out shouldn't be an option. Perhaps in 2 years but not now 8 years of dead cap is poor cap management.</div></div>
You need to either play him and hope he gains back some trade value or, like you guys said, retain some cash and take back another bad contract with less term.
Ive always been a fan of Turris and am kinda shocked his play dropped so terribly. As a jets fan I would love to see him in the peg, but it's a long term gamble. plus it helps out the Preds.
