24-25 Avs Tracker
has the potential to be a great signing. We'll see how he does in playoffs this year but anytime you can get a solid backup for under a mil is a good signing.

Serious rebuild
Walker is playing real good right now but i think we're a bit blinded by his .5 goals per game. He's not worth 5 mil. him and malinski will basically be the same player in another year. Makes no sense to make a big downgrade in what manson brings to get more of the same in what walker will bring. i hope he keeps bumping up his play to make a huge pay day in free agency but we didn't really pay much for him when you factor in the johansen contract, which should tell you that you can find average puck movers easier than the grit and grind type players who are playing top 4 minutes.

A Pessimistic Attempt
honestly i think trenin will be a rental. Doesn't change much and just gives us basically a couple mil to make an addition at the deadline, but i think it's a solid group.

Avs Offseason No Landeskog
way too much money being spent on a 4th line here. we have 4, 1 mil and under contracts on the offense right now and you have 0, so right there it's not sustainable plus 0 money for any scratches for injury. Plus moving manson is a mistake in my opinion, he brings a lot more to this team than points and he will make his presence known even more in playoffs when physicality picks up even more.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bradshaw97</b></div><div>I like all these numbers, I was putting together a 24-25 team and had all these numbers, I like the idea of Manson being traded out to keep a younger walker, although I think Avs would need to get a Manson type replacement at a cheaper rate, Brendan Dillon/ dumba, zadorov, edmundson, kulikov, hakanpaa, whoever is left and would be willing to take a cheap 1 year contract</div></div>
I'd argure you might be able to replace manson with dillon but he's also older and slower so i don't think it owuld make sense, plus he's not coming any cheaper than 3 mil at a minimum. No point in any of the others, just downgrading from manson when we can get another puck mover at the deadline like walker again.

i'd way rather keep woody than trenin right now or Drouin for that matter if landy is infact coming back. Plus i personally feel like we need manson on the back end, we have 0 grit if he's not back there.

I'd like to have barron back, they can't fit evans under contract though. Sakic drafted barron and mack liked him. We don't have much in the system with his size so to have him come into the rotation next season could help with that.

nothing against annunen, he's gonna be full time backup next year, but with all the moves made this year seems like a mistake to not get depth at goalie after how our last cup run went riding franky basically.

Do your research on Trenin because he's not a center. He sucks in the dot and takes like 40 draws a season.
I had the name "what lines" but the site didn't change it.</div></div>
I agree that rants can score, i don't know what thats about. But Trenin will most likely be center, he's not going to be like a go to guy for faceoffs and playing 4th line on colorado ight see 5 draws a game outside the defensive zone. I don't think Colorado is as much concerned with the draws for 4th line center as much as the responsibility of the positon and bringing the edge we haven't had since calvert.

Mitts sticks Walker walks
personally i think we're bridging mittlestadt. I don't see him getting more than nichuskin if he wants long term and matching landy. He's never had 20 goals, he's never shown playoff success, hes an rfa the factors are in our favour going into arb so with that i think he banks on himself and gets 2-3 year bridge deal around the 5 mil mark. Plus we're a good tax state so we will be able to cut a better deal, look at the rest of our big names that are big factors in the cup that could have made more on the open market.
I also think moving manson is a mistake, this is a pretty light d line in terms of physicality and i think manson will make his presence felt again this post season.

Finshing moves
Pass on columbus deal, we don't have cap to pay him next year and malinski will be just as good for us next at 850k.
i'd like dowd but I think dowd needs to be half retained if we get him, cap reasons next year, 650k 4C is a solid piece for playoffs and next year. Plus i'd be looking to add edmunson from the caps, i think he can basically swap in and out with JJ and brings some grit to replace manson if he goes down.
I'm pretty impartial about the goalie trade, whoever we bring in this year for backup is basically a rental, i think annunen is full time back up next year now. with that being said i'd probily keep provestov just to have an ahl goalie next year.

Avs no trades with Landeskog dream
Basically agree with your comments. I think we got malinski for a depth puck mover if sammy goes down again which is nice. I would like to trade to basically get another cheaper manson that can rotate with JJ. Manson's been having injury issues and if he goes down i think we might be light on grit for a playoff run, i don't really feel like jones can really make an impact in any aspect for being the 7th D.

dowd i think makes a lot of sense if you can get him half retained. A 4c who can move into 3C if injuries arise at 650k would go a long way on a cap crunch team.

Byram for mittlestadt is fine, i think everyone had a feeling we were going to be moving on from a d for a 2C, so thats just a hockey trade.
If we're done making moves i'd call the ryjo move a loss for sure, we have more than enough cap to keep ryjo and bring in walker with something outside the first. SO hopefully we fill that cap space with another big fish but if we don't i don't see the point of the deal.

i mean there's no way drouin finishes playing anywhere with mack. it was a good experiment and for how much we are paying drouin i think its worked but lets face it he's been playing with mack for 2/3 of the season and a bunch on pp1 and has 36 points macks got 105. he's not staying around, plus he's just a roster player for pits to fill out the rest of the season.
