I like Hagel but I'd rather Mikheyev and Kerfoot in the lineup as suppose to Roberston and Hagel.

Id like to keep Kerfoot tho is the only thing. I don’t think there’s anyway it gets done considering it’s not our #1 priority and the cap constraints, although it would be a pipe dream.

If they somehow make it work with the cap , Gourde would be terrific fit as a 3C. I still think a D should be #1 priority tho.

Couple Additions To Get The Club Playoff Ready
Let's throw Chara in the lineup and bring Gabriel back, then we will be "Built for playoffs". Having toughness is always nice, but they should also be good at hockey, which Chara and Clutterbuck just aren't. Acquiring old, slow big bodies isn't what is going to get this team over the edge in the playoffs, it will fall on the big 4 along with other guys chipping in when needed. I'm fine with acquiring Hakanpaa for the 3rd pair but if we are going to trade for someone to play 2RD, it should be an upgrade over Holl.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>csick</b></div><div>Maybe they can beat Washington but have a tough time seeing them beat the other 3 especially if Boston adds someone at the deadline</div></div>
Any other team that is a top 5 team in the NHL and ppl are calling them cup contenders, but it's the leafs and the playoffs lol. I still think they should beat the bruins and caps given what I've seen this regular season, although I'm not confident lol. Florida hasn't exactly shown they are playoff tested either, granted they did play Tampa and had goalie issues and it was a still a good series. I would be more hopeful with a Florida series then a Tampa series, simply bcuz TML for the most part hasn't had issues with D in playoffs it has been more so scoring and Florida is not as good defensively as Tampa and even though Bob has had a good year this year, he doesn't have a great track record in the playoffs at all.

Agreed, not everything needs to be realistic, I saw your post and you made it clear it was a hypothetical. People take this site way too serious in general, there is no room for creativity or fun lol. Obviously moving McDavid makes no sense, but most trades on here usually don't make sense, which is ok bcuz nothing on here is real haha.

Idk really who ‘deserves’ him the most but for the sake of the NHL I think it’s best for the league if he ends up a Hab. You want big time players playing in big time markets, not in Arizona lolol.

Big contract in a big market, if he’s not performing he’s going to hear it. He’s been decent after the first 9 or so games, and very very good as of late ppl just carried on the hate from last years playoffs with the slow start.

Off the top of my head, Makar, Fox, Josi, Hedman, Ekblad, McAvoy, Slavin, Toews, Heiskanen are all better then him I’m sure there’s a few I’m missing. He’s just not good enough defensively to make an argument for top 5.

He's been good in a bottom pair role. Holl struggled mightily to start but has been a lot better as of late. Tough to say a guy playing bottom pair minutes has been better then someone who has been playing in the top 4. Especially when their analytics are similar, even advantage Holl.

I just don't think the upgrade Hronek is on D outweighs the downgrade from Zadina to Marner, it doesn't make the team better. If Marner is dealt it will be in the off-season. The 5 mil of extra cap space does us no good at the deadline as teams contending usually add, not get rid of 1st liners. Too many moving pieces required to hope to be able to use that cap space at the deadline.

He might as he's the flashiest player, I don't think he should though Seider is more important to the Wings then Zegras is to the Ducks. Seider is pretty much a legit #1 dman already, I think his impact on the game is much larger then the other candidates.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>m1234f_</b></div><div>he is just over a point a game player this year and is a ghost in playoffs.... marner is over paid and they need cap space for years to come or mathews is gone, pick your poison
let me guess you want seider raymond and 4 1st`s. lol
the trade might not be quite enough add another pick or depth player but seider is untouchable at this point</div></div>
I know he struggled last years playoffs but the year before that him and Matthews were both good and the first series against Boston he was the Leafs best player. There was a lot to be desired last year but 25 points in 32gp in the playoffs isn't smth to scoff at. That being said I think Seider is about as untouchable as it gets he's unreal and the clear Calder favorite imo.
