having some nice disuccions with Ducks fans on the site, a 1st for him 50% retained. Which would be nice pick up bc of the additional term and you get a transitional 2C over the next season and a half

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>coga16</b></div><div>he never plays up the middle of the ice, face-offs are not what being a Center is about, He would have to change how he plays his game to actually play C, its not as simple as hes good defensively and takes draws so lets shift him to the middle. I dont doubt that Landy could learn to play Centre but he has never in his career, so why force it now</div></div>
Playing center largely about what your role is in each zone. For periods of MacKinnon’s career, Landeskog was almost always F3 in the defensive zone while MacKinnon had easier defensive responsibilities more like a winger. Once they move to the offensive zone, MacKinnon takes over as a more traditional C.
It’s not ideal and it’d be an awkward fit, but stranger things have been posted on this godforsaken website.

but if hes not playing on Macks Line, hes not goign to get that transitional fluid hybrid role at C, it will be more straight line C which I think isnt that easy to shift to so late in his career. He really will be playing a traditional C position with his responsibilities in all zones. I think its risky

Yeah because a NHL top player last season goes to average this season just months later all because of that mighty birthday passed! LOL Ever think there is more to the story?

EJ press box
Arizona wants a 2 for him, a 3 would be worst case scenario. 20 points, a plus on a bad team, can play all situations, cheap cap hit, there’s going to be a lot of teams in on him

I’m not sure it makes sense for NY to do this one for one tbh. IK the model hates Pageau but he proves his worth in the playoffs.

Yeah with the current conditions that exist in the NHL, Quite a few players are taking one year deals and banking on themselves.

I’m a supporter of the pageau for girard. Even did this trade myself but didn’t include the 2nd.
Isles still have to find a way to also ship out Josh Bailey, in order for them to fit Kadri.
There are most people just assuming that if pageau gets traded, he goes for cap space, to sign Kadri.
We will see. It’s a lot to expect Lou to move two players of significance in Bailey AND pageau. But for them to do this trade, that would be the requirement. Teams like ANA or OTT could fit Bailey.
It can also be beauvilier and pageau. But I’ll be pissed if it is.

I don't really know. Could be waiting for the deal with Zacha or clear cap space or just agreeing with the structure of the contracts.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BDAvs</b></div><div>Who do they move? And do they get better?</div></div>
Same if any of Frederic/Forbort/Foligno/Nosek is moved. Worse if it's Smith/Reilly (assuming it's for cap space with no player returning).

Bergeron already told Zacha he'll be at camp and Montgomery pretty much confirmed it in an interview this week. It's just not officiel yet for some reason.

Honestly i feel like if the avs can offer 6.5 x 5 kadri will consider. Maybe sneak up to 6.75-7. Dont resign JJ, 250K less on Cogs and helm and maybe manson stays around. Think fluery would be about 1 mill cheaper. Maybe use those savings and get nuke over marchment. Only time will tell but i respect the idea.

Avs 2021
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Alfie11</b></div><div>I really hate this narrative that he disappears in the playoffs. Sure he gets locked down more in the playoffs but he still creates plays, and any playmaker is gonna look bad if their linemates refuse to get open, or are unable to finish if they are. His shooting percentage even excluding the empty netter was what you would expect from him, you just generally expect him to get double or triple the amount of assists, which is more on the guys he's playing with since he was putting in the effort and creating some quality chances. Could he have been a little better? Maybe, but Johnny isn't the guy who should be blamed for the loss. On the Avs he's easily a 100+ point player consistently and without the pressure of having to run the entire offense solo he's sure to thrive. Also why does everyone expect him to leave for the east in 2 years just because he's from there? He's literally on the record as saying he loves Calgary and could see himself playing his whole career here, not everyone is desperate to go back where they came from, otherwise Toronto would have Stamkos and a plethora of other stars lmao, that's another narrative that makes absolutely no sense just in general. Another point--2 years is not a rental, that's a significant amount of time, you could literally win 2 cups with him even if he does end up walking after. Coleman essentially fetched two 1sts for a year and a bit, 2 full years at an affordable price tag of a star like Gaudreau would cost at least the package I mentioned and give the Avs easily the most dangerous offense in the league. Don't try to get a star for peanuts and then complain when he costs a significant amount.</div></div>
100% disappears. Have never had a player change my thoughts on them as drastically as Gaudreau in the last 2 playoffs and in particular last year against the Avs, where he showed as much leadership and grit of a toddler having a tantrum. COL isn’t trading Newhook unless an elite C is coming back period. His upside as a legit 60-70 pt player on an ELC makes his value almost irreplaceable to the Avs. And how many times does it have to be explained Goodrow and Coleman fetched what they did almost as much for their contracts as their play as TBL was willing to overpay for that.
