Got that right. I just don't even know the value of Gavrikov/Bean. Pulji and Holloway don't hold a ton of value.

So here's my mindset....
Blues: Get Bean and Gavrikov on the back end to replace losing Krug. Holloway and Pulji are a change of scenery kind of players. Then a first round pick
Oilers: Get a d-man with playoff experience
Jackets: get some younger pieces back for an expiring player. Good goalie prospect since Elvis and Joonas as nearing 30
Honestly don't even know. Overall bored and playing around with this stuff

There has to be SOMETHING wrong with him. His shot doesn't seem as hard, had issues with his back earlier this year (I believe he had back injuries when he was younger, thought I heard that somewhere)
Just don't see Leddy getting traded unless it's attached with a pick for nothing. Krug would probably be a similar situation but his PP Specialty could make it enough to get a deal done.
Mikkola is still younger, think he could slide in as a second pairing Then with the likes of Tucker and Rosen, think they could slide into that bottom pairing just fine</div></div>

Also regarding Krug, I like him, but think that once Perunovich is back, Krug can be expendable. Krug, Faulk, and Perunovich are extremely similar players in playstyle. Getting rid of one (Krug makes the most sense with age and contract) to bring back in a more defensive minded player should benefit more.
I think pairings of Faulk/Parayko, Perunovich/Leddy (this scares me), then Mikkola/Rosen/Borts is a decent D-core. Not great by any means. Get rid of Leddy for that defensive-minded player so Perunovich can activate more would make the most sense. My opinion of course.
If there are any d-men with the defensive mindset around that 4-5 mil mark between ages 26-30 is a perfect companion for Perunovich to work with on that second pairing. And he can be the PP2 QB while Faulk is on PP1

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mokumboi</b></div><div>Five hundred metric tonnes of no. And do not listen to the Blues fans who constantly hammer Parayko. He's far better than they shriek, even in a down year. The sheer volume of things that he does stop is massive, and most of the things he gets blamed for are actually the fault of Leddy or a forward or some combo of players that he was stretching jurisdiction to cover for. Some of these people have been bagging on him for ages now, forever throwing tantrums because he's not as vicious as Pronger, even when he was #1 among all NHL D-men in on-ice GA and #3 in on-ice GF over the back half of last season AND then was excellent in the playoffs until one notable error well into the Colorado series. Go to Facebook, you'll see Blues fans blaming Parayko for goals when he wasn;t even on the ice. And they don;t think past releasing him or giving him away or shooting him out of a cannon. They don;t consider what it would cost to replace him, for example. So no thanks.</div></div>
My biggest gripe with him is just he doesn't use his size, and when he does he always gets hurt (example being the game against Colorado earlier this year, hit Mackinnon in the 3rd to preserve the lead and was injured for a bit after). I think the biggest issue is just his contract. Then having Krug, Faulk, Leddy, and Parayko all on NTC with decent cap hits. Would love to get rid of one and think Krug or Parayko should be first to go but who would want that cap exactly.
I like he plays those minutes, think that is valuable in its own right. But the shot and physicality? It just lacks.
He used to be a favorite but seems to be lacking a lot since he signed that extension
Plus I've been liking Mikkola as of late and think trading away Parayko opens up that cap space (and then some) to resign him and have him step up a bit more

Only notion behind any of this is just frustration as a Blues fan. Parayko has been horrid but EDM could potentially pay up for D-help
Barbi was added for depth
Have heard the likes of Yama, Pulji, and Holloway on the trade block. Would this package even work? Not a clue.
Just not sure on these players overall value.
IMO, Yama Pulji and Holloway are young and could turn it around so there's at least potential. First round pick could be too rich but maybe EDM is desperate enough to do it?
Just give honest thoughts on this. Who to add/take away. Change draft pick, etc.
I've always thought highly of Pulji and Yama since they came to the league, just maybe a change of scenery could spark something (Vince Dunn, Tage Thompson, just to name a few that have succeeded after leaving the Blues, be nice to have it happen the other way)

Don't think Mikkola will resign in STL and Heinola has previously requested a change of scenery due to lack of opportunity (from what I've heard at least)
Blues get a young LHD that has shown potential, WPG gets a solid bottom pair D-man to play with Schmidt
Was tempted to add a few later round draft picks but wasn't sure on overall value of both players

Just feel like they both could use a change of scenery and could be good fits on the wings. They have 1 and 2 years left and both are 24 years old so could be late bloomers (like Tage Thompson). Could be cheap options to re-sign as well with their current production.
Just chose these players due to the cap situation for this year (would've preferred younger prospects but the money wouldn't work) and the Oilers could use a defenseman so they could need it. Draft pick could change as well. Could be later round possibly.

Blues Move D NTC at a cost
Mindset: Puljujärvi and Yamamoto haven't been performing too well as of late. Blues take a flier on them improving as middle 6 players. Blues shed one of their 4 NTC on defense, most expensive pay rate (Krug) which could be expendable with Perunovich in the system. Have to attach a higher pick due to the contract and age but EDM is in a win-now mode with McJesus and Leon, meaning Krug may waive his NTC for that possibility.
Sure would such to lose a top PP-QB for the Blues but need to shed someone and have been without Krug for a little while now. Should be good to go come playoff time for EDM (assuming they make it of course)
Not sure how I feel about this, just throwing ish at the wall and seeing what sticks. Curious on your thoughts

Winger For NJD
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Tennisman142</b></div><div>I think the blues would prefer a 2023 first if they are selling Tarasenko. Blues already have Krug and Leddy on the left side so I doubt they are wanting to add another 4-5 million cap hit on that side. If they really wanted Graves they could wait until the offseason to sign him</div></div>
Graves was thrown in more to make the money work. Originally was going to do Foote and a 1st for Tank but the money wasn't there. If there's a third team to absorb more cap, then maybe that would work. I just downgraded the 1st for a 2nd just due to the fact another player got thrown in. Could be a first still, especially if the Blues are willing to send a late round pick the other way.
In terms of Leddy and Krug, I think for long term success one may have to go. I like them both as players but having our top 4 making the money they do all with NTC makes it tough. I would think Krug is expendable with Perunovich in the system (although he has injury concerns). Similar play styles, just a lot younger and cheaper. Graves could be a solid fit temporarily until ScottyP can prove he is worth the starting gig on the second or third pair

Winger For NJD
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AC14</b></div><div>Although they kind of need to. They can’t dedicate that much to Graves as a UFA unless Leddy/Krug are moved.
In terms of the trade proposal, I would imagine the Blues would pass. I think they’ll really shoot for a 1st with Tarasenko. I’d imagine Foote is somewhere around the value of a 2nd? I know trades don’t work like that but i don’t think he’s a strong enough prospect to accept a 2nd in return for Tarasenko. If Graves needs to be thrown in for cap purposes I’d imagine that would be alright, however we have tons of those bottom pair to middle pair d men on the left side who are more so specialists of some sort. Graves is probably an upgrade on Mikkola, but we currently have Mikkola so it’d be hard to fit everyone in the lineup. Wouldn’t see him holding much value to the Blues unless they really like some of his analytics</div></div>
I just hope they get rid of Krug. I like him as a player but he just doesn't seem to fit in much with the likes of Faulk and Leddy. Just think it'll be tough to move him.
Graves was thrown in for cap reasons and I agree Mikkola is a solid bottom pairing. Plus with the likes of Perunovich hopefully coming back, he is a cheaper, younger player similar to Krug's playstyle.
In terms of the 2nd vs 1st, I bounced between the two but thought a second would be more likely to get accepted for sending out a B-tier (projected middle of the lineup player) but a first isn't out of the question. Maybe if the Blues send back a late round pick to make that happen

Agreed. I haven't liked Parayko much. For a big guy, he just isnt physical enough and he's a second pairing guy. Blues should get rid of Krug or Parayko. Maybe both. Need to shave some NTC on defense imo. Feel like he'd waive his NTC to go to Edmonton and they could use a D. Wonder if 2 younger mid-6 players and draft pick could work. Blues Get Chychrun 3-team Trade
Only slight addition maybe is to send Tank to the Yotes to retain some salary and maybe even have NYI send a 3rd (or later) round pick for that salary retention.
Arizona gets about what they want to Chychrun and then some (reported to be two 1sts and a 2nd OR prospect), Blues get a few D-men to help while shedding Scandella's contract (LTIR anyway) and Tank who not sure if he still hopes to be traded or not), Islanders get a sniper to play with Barzal on that top line as a rental for the year (and potentially beyond if they chose to resign)

Also if we are trading Parayko we have no need for Chychrun because our defense would still suck. This is such a garbage proposal. This trade makes our team worse in the present and even worse in the future because we traded our 1st, a 2nd and Bolduc. A defense of Krug, Faulk, Chychrun, and Leddy is no better than Parayko, Faulk, Leddy, Krug. They both still suck.</div></div>
Just kind of using proposals I've heard elsewhere and combined it all somehow to make the money work. Is it a perfect trade? Of course not. Just a basic concept. Obviously plenty to change. And Yama and Pujli are both 24, so can use them to build with Kyrou and Thomas. Parakyo hasn't lived up to his contract and I've seen nearly everyone (including those on the Athletic) talk about trading away Parayko. Plus Chychrun was in the Norris conversation a few years ago, still 24, and a few years of control at a good rate. Will cost quite a bit to acquire him. Sure things in this MOCK TRADE can be adjusted to make more sense. Just a start.
