What do the Panthers do Next Year
I don’t think Montour stays, and we will likely move either Bobrovsky or knight
Balinskis will be a regular guy on the d core next year & Samo will be a regular top 9 guy & Lundelll will sign for 2.5-3m

Hanifin to FLA
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rolfadinho</b></div><div>Neither of these trades make any sense for Florida.
1) Hanafin isn’t a need. We need more lower down depth at RD instead of a top line LD.
2) Florida has already made it clear that Knight is their future and that they will be moving on from Bob within next year or 2 (probably not this offseason though).</div></div>
How have we made it clear knight is the future? By stashing him in the AHL while he makes 5 mill a year? Yeah ok lol it’s better to move him while he still has value

Cant get him in FA if he’s traded elsewhere and extends? And while he’s not a NEED for this year he still makes the team better? lundell has just gotten worse since his rookie year trading him isn’t a big deal to me

It’s not as much a need now as it is something that helps the team longterm, getting a top pairing D is something that helps us for years down the line and provides more clarity on what we can pay To the guys who are UFAs in the next few years

I absolutely get where you’re coming from here, he is all potential but that potential is still there and unless enticed with something quality I highly doubt we move him for the sake of moving him
It’s a hard trade to figure out for sure his value is so unknown

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>Those would ve very nearsighted trades that will probably heavily backfire</div></div>
Maybe, but at this point I’m done with knight and I’m sick of spending 15m on goalies it’s just not sustainable
If he was actually playing in the NHL that’s one thing But I just can’t stomach a guy making 5m a year to be in the AHL
As for the lundell trade I don’t think it’s short sighted at all, Barron is a young defender I think the value there is fair

Lundell
I actually like this trade a lot and would do it, monahan id a current upgrade on lundell and would be a perfect fit at 3C, Barron is a piece I like a lot, with the fact 1 of ekblad, Montour, forsling will be gone in the next 2 season a guy like Barron would be huge for us and a 2nd is a nice cherry on the deal

You’re deluded, our forwards are as good as anyone in the league and we have actual depth this year we’re not playing with 20 players, Monty and Ekblad missing 2 months isn’t a big deal considering the season is 82 games lmao we will finish T3 in the Atlantic for sure

I don’t disagree with majority of that but at the same time we aren’t particularly desperate for cap space, trading a top 6 F for a 6th to open up 3m in cap to sign a worse player doesn’t make much sense

That’s Fair, being honest I saw a flames fan post this exact trade and I liked it so I copied it for this I could see it being a later pick just feel like 3rd offsets some of the question marks around Kyilngton

The odds definitely aren’t great (30%) but regardless it doesn’t make sense to move Bennett unless it’s for a fantastic return (multiple high picks or a d man with term + picks) he’s a perfect 2C at a cheap cap hit even if we don’t make the playoffs this year we still have him for 2 more seasons and next year we are likely competing again

They lost Weegar and I’m not a big believer in Montour or Carlsson . Forsling is good but if that defence struggles and/or Bob/Knight , yikes</div></div>
Lines aren’t set in stone, Tkachuk will play with the 2nd line too and Balcers will be very similar to what Marchment gave us lmao

Not sure if you’re blind or trolling but our Forwards are perfectly fine depth wise
AB, CV, MT, AD, SB, SR, AL Are 7 good players
Cousins, White, Balcers, Hornqvist, Lomberg are all at least average and they’re physical players who play good defense and can play a depth role very nicely and we’ve still got Denisenko and Levtchi who are unknowns and could be difference makers
D wise isn’t the best sure but we’ve got 3 good players there and personally I think Carlsson will take a step as he was very good last season and Gudas is a perfectly capable 3rd pair guy

No way this team is better than Tampa and Toronto, they're fighting with Boston and Detroit for third in the Atlantic.
The Metro likely takes up the two wild card spots: Carolina, NYR, Washington, Pittsburgh and potentially NYI all take the bacon. It's either third in the Atlantic or bust.</div></div>
Lmfao the islanders stink and we’re far better than Boston and goddamn Detroit we will battle with Toronto and easily be 2nd or 3rd in the pacific

Why the Panthers got fleeced
Short term yes, Calgary fleeced and when you consider the position they were in this is a great haul but at the same time if Huberdeau leaves in a year then it’s a far different situation
From floridas perspective Weegar is gone anyways and Paying Tkachuk 8x9.5>paying Huberdeau 8x10
Gonna be verrrrry interesting to see how it plays out tho
