Not sure what your definition of close is but they are over $80m right now and the deal would put them roughly $1m shy of the ceiling

Bemstrom over Danforth, Robinson, or Olivier feels off. Would also hope they can get Fantilli on the top 2 lines to play with more skilled guys. Also think Texier, while effective, would be tremendously underutilized on the 4th line. Hopefully they can move Rosy to make the Fantilli and Texier bumps easier to accomplish. That said, I think a Tex/Voronkov swap would make sense regardless

yeah its a Leafs fan making this so they don't have great knowledge of any of the teams involved. Jackets acquiring 2 more wingers and not moving any is a guaranteed "no." The lines aren't great imo, Voronkov needs to be waived to go to the AHL I believe (he'll start on the roster). I could be wrong but I don't think that Swayman would be that cheap for a 4yr deal.

While Bolduc is very good, I think the Jackets would stick with Mateychuk. The Provorov contract ending in 2 years seems to perfectly line up with the intention of a left side of Werenski - Mateychuk - Svozil

they have enough cap that they wouldn't have to buy him out so I could see them doing it if they get toward the end of the offseason with room to spare. There are worse things you could spend $8m on as a NHL owner than a first round pick
