NYR Greenway

The reality is neither Dubnyk or Stalock have been very good this season. Even if it means having 2 young goalies next year, I'd be ok with them getting rid of both of them this summer and going into next season with Kahkonen and Georgiev to see which, if any, emerges as their starter of the future. They have a couple other guys in the pipeline, but they're further behind in their development and won't be ready for another few years at least.

Seems like a win-win for both teams. It's not like the Toronto media is going to inflate the price for the Wild to get Georgiev. lol

Yep. I think in both the Cirelli and Strome case the Wild will have the cap space and depending on how the sell off goes the draft picks to leverage one of them away from their team.

Highly doubt Necas would be moved but you never know if Dumba is going the other way...

You can stop the bad offers now
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ryminister_27</b></div><div>They moved Zucker already and are listening to offers on 2 of their top d-man.. pretty sure that's signalling they're getting ready for a rebuild. You don't trade your best players and expect to contend for multiple years.
Do you think 35 year old Eric Staal is gonna lead this team for the next 5-10 years? Doubtful. A rebuild is needed in Minnesota.</div></div>
I agree with you, but ownership just doesn't seem to see it that way. The thing about the Zucker trade is it brought in futures and a roster player to take Zucker's spot for this season. Guerin was pretty clear he still wants them to make the playoffs since they're in a position to realistically do it, so while they probably should trade Brodin and Staal now while they have good value, they won't unless what they're looking for comes back. Guerin is listening to offers on Brodin and Dumba, but that doesn't mean a deal is being seriously discussed.

The wild are not letting guys go for nothing. Nor will they make a reaction trade of accepting "the best offer" if it is a bad offer. Teams always run into a need. That's what got Zucker's value up. Same thing will happen with Brodin and/or Dumba. There's still time on the clock. There's no rush.

Yep, the thing people here don't get is they don't need to move either player right now. Brodin can have his contract expire with a handshake agreement to sign again after the expansion draft is over and Dumba has a few years left for Guerin to find a better deal. For the people saying there won't be, the first offer for Zucker was Calgary offering a 1st and Frolik last year, so yeah... hold out until a better offer comes along. lol

Second most over rated player in rumors this TDL behind Athanasiou. The word "invisable" will float through Pens fans minds.

I, 100 percent agree with you. Leaf fans are the first to say that their players are all first line players and deserve to get a top return, but every other player on the other teams are overrated and can only bring a minimal amount.

The trade make no sense for MN. Their team gets worse and hey give up a 2nd.
-MN has Spurgeon and Dumba as top-4 RD, Pateryn is a fine 3rd pair guy. Risto just doesn't move the needle at all for them.
-JEE is too important to the team's future with him being the only young center of note. Asplund might turn in the player JEE is now, but not anything more.

I know. So was this guy just pulling my chain or what's going on. I mean he seemed honest and knowledgeable. I started following the Wildcats on Twitter to see if I can get any info on it.
The Twitter research has paid off. The guy was pulling my chain. Khovanov took 13 faceoffs and won 7 so not great in the circle, but definitely a center.

Moves EDM CAR PIT TOR
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BLIvingston33</b></div><div>Gotta move out wingers at some point, Hartman can be sacrificed for a guy that can play in the AHL if needed.
Greenway is the same situation and seems to really need a change of scenery since he can't move up the Wild lineup with the amount of wingers. I'll take the guy with the higher potential in Puljujarvi.
Taking Bjugstad gets a bit more back from the Pens in a Zucker deal, just buyout Rask. He's a stopgap until the next season anyway, you can give him a shot with no risk.
Disagree with Bokk, he's already playing pro now.
Rossi is just a name, could be Byfield if we get lucky, could be Stutzle, could be Perfetti. If the guy we draft isn't NHL ready then move up Ek and give Sturm a shot. I don't buy Sturm as an NHL centre either.
In the end, you gotta make moves and can't just sit on the current roster with Kaprizov and think anything changes.</div></div>
The thing is you're just reshuffling the deck with the wings, not really moving any out.
Hartman is the ideal 4th liner. You don't trade that for an AHL player that isn't needed.
Buying out Rask is a bad move. He's fine as a bottom-6 center, just overpayed. But a buyout and then filling the position elsewhere is a cap neutral move at best.
At worst Greenway is Foligno's replacement in the future. A guy that can chip in 10g/10a year, while being a pain to play against. Poolparty is an "all the tools and no tool box guy".
Bokk is playing in the SHL and not really lighting it on fire. The AHL is a step up from the SHL and it will give him time to get used to the smaller ice. Let him tear up the AHL for a season and use him as a callup.
Smart moves need to be made, not moves to make moves. I'm fine with selling off Donato, Zucker, Hunt/Pateryn, Brodin/Dumba, and Foligno but it needs to be fore something they need: top wing, top-6 center, and a goalie.
This is the core to build around for the next 5 years:
Boldy/JEE/Kunin (one of Greenway, Donato, Zucker is a placeholder for Boldy until he's ready)
Fiala/???/Kaprizov
Parise/???/Zucc (because we're stuck with them)
Suter/Spurgeon (because we're suck with them)
Brodin/Dumba (keep 1/trade 1)
goalie (we have a couple decent ones in the system, but most goalies are either boom or bust).

Moves EDM CAR PIT TOR
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BLIvingston33</b></div><div>I figure it's basically Hallander and a first for Zucker. Donato for Bjugstad, and the pick swap is the Pens letting the Wild move up one round for taking Bjugstad's contract off their hands.</div></div>
Yeah.. I mean. At the end of the day Pittsburgh has to trade picks or prospects to make deals.
A lot of Pens fans don't want to give up two of
1) This year's first
2) Addison
3) Poulin
4) Legare
5) Hallander
6) POJ
But you have to give to receive.
At the end of the day they can try to shop Galchenyuk, Simon, Bjugstad, and Schultz. If you find the right takers you could at least get a couple of seconds back. The Pens have unique flexibility this year and it is nearing the end for the elite stage of 87 and 71. Time to get creative for sure!
