I just fundamentally disagree with you here. He is not good defensively at all. Its insane we utilize him on empty net up 1 situations and honestly he shouldnt be on the ice in games the Rangers are winning by 2+ goals in really any situation. Wildly below replacement level player.

Even then, we will still need him next year too. Same with Lindgren, considering there's no UFA Ds that make sense, Forsling signed and Hanifin wants sunshine. Zad Kulikov or Hakanpaa could fit.
Goody 1.1m retained also, could net a mid pick and is way better in the long run.
Chytil is done.</div></div>
No one is spending positive assets to acquire Barclay Goodrow in almost any scenario. We would be lucky to get a Nemeth situation.

And then you don’t have to take the $2m hit in year 3 and 4. I could see a number of teams trading for Trouba at that price— and you’d likely get some good assets in return.</div></div>
I mean I think the word is out that he is a pylon. We have not been good at getting rid of our mistakes.

Probably not. But Grier is showing he isnt very good so maybe he will like Goodrow's leadership too, or something like that. Also shocking to me that Goodrow still has 3 more freaking years on his deal.

Anaheim is easy because they are the first team on the drop down. I dont care enough to search every roster for their fit as well. Lindgren is worth that return. I dont care who gives it.

Lindgren has been terrible the last month. Full stop. Love his heart but its already a Girardi situation. Goodrow continues to be a disaster since the day they signed him. Need to push him to 4W and better to the press box.

Thanks for at least not putting Dowd at 3C or trading a 1st for him</div></div>
Yea I just think the Rangers should trade Lindgren. I think he is playing the worst hockey of his career and would be a disaster to resign him. But it would be too big a blow for the playoffs. Either way. Would love to get Guentzel. I hate the guy but want him on my team so bad.

I dunno. I dont think they get Gustafsson and just waive him. And I would rather him in hartford than as the 7th D scratch. Would be stoked if he wins the job, but Gustafsson has also been sneaky really good the last two years, so you would want to get something out of him too. Its a tough spot.
Fully agree with the Vesey statement, just hoping management agrees. He is an elite defensive forward now.

At 24, you're concerned Lindgren will be done really soon? I understand he plays hard but how soon do you think his career is done? Not sure if you are aware but Pulju had huge hip surgeries done already a couple years ago...so if you're looking to avoid a player who is young with injury risk...he's not exactly the guys. Has been generally healthier the past 2 years though.</div></div>
Honestly i think you can replace Lindgren with a cheaper player to play with Fox and sell high on him now. He is great and i dont want to see him go, but would trade him for forward help. I think he just makes sense as a sell high. He will be fine the rest of this contract. His next contract will be a disaster.

Rangers weren't paying that price at the deadline, why would they pay it now for a 1 yr rental. It never made sense, but it made more sense when they got him for 2 playoff runs.

Lol with how bad he is defensively, Scheifele is slight upgrade over Strome, like truly marginal. To give up that kind of package for someone who would barely move the needle is silly.

Rather Rakell for a 2nd and 3rd and a B prospect. The chariot trade is a disaster overpay, but Lindholm would be so much better of an ad. Just dont think the price is worth it for a D rental when NYR have such glaring Forward needs at RW.

I would pay more for Lehk if MTL would do a sign to a bridge and retain trade. LIke MTL signs him to a 2 year, $3m contract AAV ($6m total) and then retains 50%. I would do Krav and a 1st for that kinda of shenanigans.
