Montreal crushed. Wild overpay by Florida for a garbage rental. Great work by MTL front office.

Doubt Dvorak gets moved, but this might at least be worth considering.</div></div>
the whole point of paying such a high cost is Dvorak for 3 years at a bargain rate. Arturi as the rental, Dvorak the long term acquisition.

Jets TDL and 2023
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tsyls</b></div><div>Well Bryan Little will never play again, so you can put him back on LTIR. As for a scheifele to NYR deal, I feel like it’s Schneider or bust for that deal. Jets don’t need another smaller RHD dman like lundkvist.
Also why are the jets giving up another 2 2nds to move Dillon? I get that Edmonton sends McLeod and then two throw ins, but still doesn’t make any sense from a jets perspective. They’d be looking to get 2 2nds back, not give up another 2 2nds.
Seattle and Blake say no to that trade.</div></div>
I don't want scheifele, but would be hard to say he wouldn't be a useful player for this year and two more years. Jets retaining 50% would make it super interesting. Maybe Schneider, Berard, Krav and 1st for full retention gets it done.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Mc2229</b></div><div>Hey man are you sure about that? Looks like my trade was pretty similar. Yeah thought so.</div></div>
Lol number one you are dork. Number two, the trade wasn't similar to yours. Krebs was a bigger asset at the time of the trade and the time of this post than anything you had the Rangers giving, which was literally a rental in Strome and vet player in Buch who I guess is similar enough to Tuch, but wasn't signed to a deal at the time and was 1 year from UFA. Krebs was a top prospect on an ELC with years of team control, so to equate him with Strome here is silly.
Anyway congrats on thinking you were so good here that you went back to a post from July to clown on yourself?

We can also add our HC as a bonus. He is a great guy and have been in the NHL well before Gordie Howe. Tons of experience. Did I say he was a great guy?</div></div>
I mean sure whatever, maybe he gets more of a return. Maybe his NTC limits his return. Maybe Dallas retains 50% for more return. Doesnt really matter for my interests in this AGM. Doubtful the Rangers trade anyone from the current 23 man roster for Pavelski, so the return is irrelevant mostly. Just want to look at what the lineup looks like with him and healthy.

Dont agree. Wont be as many teams that can fit him, and that price reflects Rangers not asking for retention. Will have to see stars willingness to eat cash to get a bigger return. Lastly I believe he has an NTC where he can pick the 3 teams he will allow a trade to. So hopefully he would be willing to go to NYR, but unlikely for their to be a bidding war.

I disagree with this. However the hype around Caufield is untenable at this time, would be impossible to do something like this and survive the firestorm in MTL. Kid has to fail a few times for it be considered.

Ok. so add a 3rd or another 2nd or a prospect or whatever. Its not gonna be much more tho. Not much money avail for rentals and Vegas isnt a typical seller that can take money back to make a rental work. Their number one priority is moving the full $5m and not taking a $ back.</div></div>

Kassian is a cap dump currently. And that contract stinks. You would need to add a 2nd i think to get the Rangers to consider biting, and even then that would be stupid with their cap issues next season and beyond.

I mean its not a nightmare because you have Elias Pettersson when you didnt. And then you figure the rest out.

Ignoring the lunacy of this fella's part 2 with EDM, that Eichel offer would be far and away the best offer Buffalo has been floated in this process, and an upgrade on what was reported as NYR's last offer as well.

Whats The Plan Chris
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lenny7</b></div><div>They do have a ton of potential performances bonuses...might not be the worst thing in the world to give the team a year of growth, see where they are at the deadline, and go from there.
Still have the potential to be a prettttty sneaky squad (albeit in a very tough division).
*Should* see guys like Miller, Kakko, Laffy (With a solid offseason I feel like he's going to breakout...jumped straight to the NHL after a covid lockdown from March-Dec, didn't play in the WJC, etc.), and Chytil take a solid step forward this year. Not a Rags fan, and definitely get a kick out of the "SO AND SO IS THE GREATEST PROSPECT EVER!" thing that was going on during the constant Eichel trades on here, but man, I definitely think they're a potential threat moving forward.</div></div>
you miss the point entirely. All those expiring deals that need to be re-signed are next years cap problem. The Rangers have ludicrous space this season and to do nothing with it, to not weaponize it all and just shrug and play out the year would be a massive missed opportunity on an expiring asset, in this case short term cap space.
