Kings need LDs and Wings need RDs. Natural trade partners. The chances of something happening are significantly higher than you think.

Durzi has 111 games in the NHL, is our second-unit power-play QB, and is scoring at the rate of almost half a point a game, despite being played on his off side this season due to team mis-construction. This offer is almost as bad as us suggesting Sam Helenius for Simon Edvinsson.</div></div>
If this is the only nitpick of my AGM, I'd call that a win

Would he want to make that call as soon as he's traded? If he's leaving his home and the place he's played his whole career, and he's so close to UFA, would he not want to go to open market? If such is the case, no team should give up 2 1st Rd picks.</div></div>
If Larkin isn't interested in staying just ask him where he wants to play. An extended Larkin should fetch 2 1sts, a 1st and 2nd at the very least

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jfstompers</b></div><div>So you can't get durzi for Johansson, if you lose Dylan and trade him for futures and not ready now pieces your extending the rebuild and not spending in free agency the next season. You sell the farm sign a couple vet guys for 2 years because that's what yzerman always does and you wait for Kasper and cossa and edvinsson and whoever we get this year and see how it looks in 3 years.</div></div>
Horvat is a distinct possibility with or without Larkin resigning. I think a team wth horvat, domi, copp and Kasper down the middle can compete with lethal shooters like pasta and a rehabbed vrana on the wing. Especially with Rasmussen, Veleno and Fabbri able to take face offs when injuries happen. Defence looks super solid with chariot in the press box. Johansson ++ to get the Durzi deal done.

ROR - COPP
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aedoran</b></div><div>Considering Yzerman just signed him for 5 seasons I seriously doubt he trades him at all. With Copp being from the area and having played for U of M I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be too happy being shipped off to St. Louis.*** Now that is one of those things players remember and it could hurt Detroit's chances of signing UFAs in the future. I haven't payed much attention ROR in terms of trade value but he is a UFA and I'm pretty sure if he was traded to a contender the return would probably contain a 1st rd pick and a prospect or 2. So I don't see this as a good move for either team.
But it is something different from what we have been seeing over and over and over for the past couple of months.
***To clarify I have absolutely nothing against St. Louis. As a matter of fact I like St, Louis and I visit quite often. Since it's where my brother, his wife and my niece live. I was just saying with all the ties he has to Southeast Michigan he probably would like to stay for a while.</div></div>
The narrative that he's been playing ****ty is trash. He'll be great for us once he's slotted properly

Yzerman's too smart to pony up the assets it would require to trade for Horvat, especially at this point in the rebuild. He's just throwing out smoke signals to let Horvat know that there's serious interest here if he chooses to make it to UFA.

Hey OP, we might as well throw in Seider, Bedard and Raymond for EP. You've gone into full supermarket sweep mode in free agency and now we don't have cap to retain them at the end of their ELCs.</div></div>
Yikes!
You don't understand cap management. When your homegrown superstars are coming off their ELCs and require room for their raises you trade your aging but still effective veterans. Kubalik will be coming off the books, Perron will be coming off the books, Myers will be coming off the books, Sundqvist will be coming off the books. You trade Fabbri for more assets, trade larkin and horvat 2 or 3 years in to make room for Kasper and bedard moving to center, cap dump chiarot after year 2, Pasta will be a highly tradeable asset should Raymond surpass him, as will ep40 once bedard surpasses him.
Having too much talent is a significantly better problem than having too little.

Because if the team is willing to pay a max contract, I'm sure any player in the league would be willing to play anywhere. Again, I don't think any agent in history has gone out and said on behalf of his client, "**** this town, we're out." I'm a Detroit fan and both larkin and his agent were saying all the right things a year and a half out, but here we are a month before the trade deadline and nothing. To say there's no fire when someone reputable just said there might be smoke is as absurd as my trade proposal.

No, first you said that he wants to start extension talks as soon as possible, this quote sounds more like, we'll talk once we're allowed to and see what happens.
Like, what are you expecting his agent to say? "Petey thinks this town blows donkey d and he can't wait to leave for a team that has a shot at contending this century?"
