Thread: Next Year
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bcarlo25</b></div><div>lol want to know what's a worse way to judge a player? freaking corsi. Hey I agree with you for the most part, points are a lousy way to judge a player. Except when you're talking about a certain type of player. The type of player that brings literally nothing to the table other than offensive production....like Eberle. He brings nothing to the table. He is flat out garbage.

Can we agree on a couple things? First, heinen is a much better defensive hockey player than Eberle. That's a no brainer, so i assume we agree on that. Second, Eberle isn't going to find himself any significant powerplay time in Boston. Maybe second unit, maybe on the ice for 20% of bostons powerplay time sound about right? Want to know who had better offensive production 5 on 5? Ya, it was Heinen. If I was sweeney I honestly don't think I'd give that walking turnover without a pulse in clutch moments a PTO.</div></div>

A) He's not using corsi to evaluate a player. If that's what you got out of that, then you're a professional dumbf*ck.
B) Eberle is an excellent offensive player, his offensive CF and xG rates are well above league average.
C) Heinen (using the same metrics that were used to evaluate Eberle) is in fact, slightly below league average offensively. Both his offensive CF and xG rates are slightly below the league average. Eberle has him beat easily on that.

Whichever team signs Eberle (since he had a "down year") will be getting him on a steal of a contract.
