I would agree with ferarro but I know he isn’t better than Burroughs and Burroughs is (from the 2 games I have seen this year). Your second best defenceman

Peake for Garland makes sense. It should happen.</div></div>
Ummm, where are you getting Boston from this?

RD with size and pedigree
They aren’t moving Severson,
Jiricek is their future
Gudbrandson is being paid better than most royalty
That leaves peeke on the outside looking in.
he would also be not too difficult to move this offseason if things turn to faecal matter

Another garland trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JeffGorton</b></div><div>thats not how value is perceived by GMs. Canucks want to get rid of cap. Garland wants out. Thats 2 negatives already. Then you have 3 years at 4.95m. Garland may be worth that but theres only like 6 teams who can take on that contract and they arent gonna be doing it for free.
Reilly Smith only went for a 3rd during the offseason where it is easier to maneuver cap. Then you add in the value for Barron, who would be the 2nd best d man on the Canucks and slightly above Hronek for upside. Also a former 1st rounder. Lundkvist is a good comparable for trade value</div></div>
I agree that there is value in bringing him back, but asking for a trade doesnt bring your trade value down to the floor, If 950k were to be retained teams would give an asset. Smith is a good comp because he went for a 3rd at full freight. I like Barron but saying he has higher upside than Hronek is a stretch. He is more of a defensive defenceman, i’d do garland, 2nd for him

Another garland trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Fox_Czar_Cup</b></div><div>Garland 3× 3.5m is still negative value lol. Maybe a high 2nd+ instead of the high 1st, but this is close. Retain 1/2 to make him worth a 2nd. Besides that, or taking on term, he's yours</div></div>
The going rate is usually about 100k per point, so for garland, he would be market value if he gets 49 points, he got 46. This is a common gauge used by people in hockey to see if a contract is worth it, and if not how close it would be. Garland is in the range of Bjorkstrand, Rust, Schwartz, and Burtuzzi for Points per game, all of them fall within 600k of garland, with all but one caveat, Garland is the cheapest of the bunch. Garland isn’t a great contract, if the Canucks weren’t up against the ceiling they would not have to pay to get rid of him and in the end they will not have to pay, they may have to retain but they will not need to pay, AND add a first. Garland is also the youngest of the group, so if he were to hypothetically be bought out, he would probably sign for a few k less than what he was signed for on this deal

Well Jarmo has started to make a push to get better players, a play driving winger to play with one of Fantilli or Laine would help make up for inexperience or being more of a goal scorer

First he was on ARI, then he was playing with Sheldon dries (AHLer) and putting up 40-50. I think he will do just fine on the first line

After a year on the first line and the cap going up we will be able to trade him for an asset.
