Maybe we draft Nygaard to help that. He's supposedly that type of player.</div></div>

Dude I would love to draft Nygaard, I just don’t know if he’ll be available when we get to him since we expect to be mid first round?
For Durzi, I’m banking on them moving to SLC lol. Whenever a team relocates, there is a good bit of team turnover + the yotes have a solid defense prospect pool.
If not Durzi, I fully expect us to go hard after Sean Walker

I stand by what I said about Bert.

Haha all good!
Yeah you’re right about Bert but do we really think he’s gonna get more than 4-5 years at this point in his career? Esp given his play-style?
Could def see him settling for a 3-4 year deal on an up-and-coming team that he’s got familiarity with like the Wings.

That trade is too light anyway.</div></div>
Durzi is on the Yotes bud.
And Bert train is optimistic thinking - we need a gritty top 6 winger who’s got exp and he fits the bill.

I like Walman, but he reminds me of Brendan Smith too much tbh. Rather have a project like Valimaki than another Smith

Wishful Thinking
I hear all of ya!
1. I do agree that he’ll prob get overpaid, and Yzerman wouldn’t pay him too much. But he would be a good fit I feel as a 2C that can play against opposing team’s top lines
2. Forsberg I feel like it’s not money for him. Ain’t no way they haven’t offered him an 8x8. I don’t think he’s worth more than 9M at the most. 8-8.5M for 7 years and the chance to play under an organization with a ton of potential and have that great Swedish connection there. Again, might be a longshot but I think there’s a chance.
3. I do think Edvinsson makes the team next year and the other 2 are close. I think Valimaki is in a similar situation to Zadina where he has the potential but not the opportunities.

That’d be good too! I put him at center bc blashill and Yzerman both have stated how they want him to grow into a Jordan Staal-like center. He looked good at center last year but it would be nice if both him and Veleno could grow into solid C’s

Clearly you don’t watch Red Wings games 😂 Larkin is awesome. While he probably is suited more for either a first line winger or second line center role, he’s a great 2 way center who can literally do anything you want him too. Just on a bad team unfortunately, but wings on the come up

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DiehardRedWingsFan58</b></div><div>Even if we get the #2 overall pick, I see Yzerman taking Tim Stutzle. Not interested in a 30 year old Chris Tanev the guy has to many health issues. And reportedly Robin Lehner wants close to 7 x 6.5 on his next deal. Doubt Yzerman has any interest in acquiring a long term goalie.</div></div>
If we could get Lehner to sign like a 2-3 x 7, that’d be perfect. I could see Yzerman going after Tanev but who knows
As far as the draft pick goes, i honestly like stutzle’s game better than byfield, but they do have a lot of wingers already and stutzle is a primary winger.

Zadinas Ascent
Larkin is still the best player on the team, he’s ridiculously responsible on both ends of the ice. But he certainly doesn’t look like he did last year. His defensive game is a bit better but you don’t see him driving the play as often as he did last year

AA would be great on a team with a good defense. The guy has no defensive skill whatsoever. He’s a league worst -35!!! Our defense was a bit more consistent last year I guess, and there wasn’t as much pressure on him either. It sucks that his stock is going down but regardless, I don’t see him being on the team much longer.

And as far as everyone else goes, I think those amounts are perfect. They’re all nhl-level players and will require short, low cost prove it deals to stay w the team

I put Mantha at that much bc this injury is going to cost him some stats. Goal scoring ability aside, he’s not as valuable as Larkin, and will probably want another 1 or 2 year bridge deal that takes him into UFA status while he’s in his prime where he can get paid lucratively

A part of me wants to see hirose on the top line with mantha and Larkin and have Bert go to the 2nd line with Nielsen/filp and AA. I think Bert is lowkey a top 3-4 player on our team, but AA’s line needs someone who’s consistently engaged like Bert

Oh I completely agree. Mantha plays so much like franzen with the inconsistent play. Mantha just has more skill whereas Franzen was more reckless and physical. But hirose is young, a lot of our guys are. They’re going to make mistakes. This is hirose’s first full season and he’s done a solid job. Not his fault that his teammates can’t finish. Him, Larkin, and hronek are the only ones who can consistently enter the zone on the PP so he’s crucial to the team

Yeah, next year will be nice bc of all of the room on defense we’ll have, plus the cap space. But the forward group is stuck with Nielsen and Abby for a bit longer, and like I previously stated, I think that Zadina and ehn should 100% be on the opening roster but I don’t think they will. Hell, I’d even say that Veleno (imo, he’s our best prospect) is ready to make the team
