[Buffalo Sabres] We have relieved Jason Botterill of his duties as General Manager. Senior Vice President of Business Administration Kevyn Adams has been named General Manager.

I'm sure "impact player" could be quantified with a little research, but I do believe this theory of yours will hold up when tested. But, I strongly believe that BUF has been completely mismanaged for the last decade or so. They desperately needed to build through the draft, not UFA! Good teams almost always have key players drafted in later rounds and developed in-house. Either Mittelstadt or Cozens has to develop into a #2 C with 60+ points per season.

If Season Ends - what to do with traded picks?
I dont think its really fair to give extra compliance buyouts. It may sound harsh but I think they should just leave it how it is. The team that traded for rentals also take on the risk of that player getting injured, not performing well on the new team, etc.
Having a hard cutoff of 1st round pick = 2 buyouts, 2nd round pick = 1 buyout doesnt really make sense when the draft order is finalized. If one team trades the 31st overall pick for a rental and another team trades the 32nd overall pick for a rental it doesnt seem fair that one would get an extra compliance buyout. Also, what would happen for teams like Arizona? Yes they traded a lot for Hall, but they also got Blake Speers, who is not a rental. How would you distingush the value of rentals in trades where there were multiple pieces moving both ways?

Who Should the Ducks Draft Your Preferences
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bf3351</b></div><div>So pick Byfield (assuming he is available at 5 and ducks are picking at 5) just to trade him instead of picking someone like Holtz or Raymond who may be 1 or 2 spots after?</div></div>
Not necessarily, but drafting Byfield (a better prospect than Steel or Lundestrom ever were) makes either of them more movable. Drafting for needs makes teams reach more, now in the top part of this draft I don’t think you can go wrong from picks 1-6 but in general I am against drafting strictly for needs when in my eyes taking the best prospects available is the better route
And centres can always be moved to the wing but wingers are rarely moved to centre

(PIT / ANA) - Pettersson for Sprong
Love the trade for the pens and I find excuses to **** on them lol. Peterson will become a top 4 guy, quality defensive defensemen for a team lacking in defense. Really puts pressure on Olli Matta cuz he is now expendable. I would say jack Johnson but no one wants that scrub. Trading a top 9 guy for a need is always a plus

Someone explain why Puljujarvi is so coveted on here
Puljujarvi's a useful player, through his career he's typically been a touch below average on D, somewhere between below average and good at driving offence, with a below average shot. (Depends on what model you look at.) Very solid but not spectacular transition microstats. He's a solid middle-sixer, no less, no more. I think some people view him as an Oilers-created bust and therefore fixable. It's not impossible, he's only 21, but at the same time I wouldn't bet much on it. I wouldn't give a first for him, but I'd be willing to toss a 2nd or lower at Edmonton to see what I can get out of him.

It's probably been brought up a few times, but...
AGMs are listed on the AGM page with the logo of the team that the person is AGMing; season and "created by" is also listed. Is there a way to list the teams that the person traded with as well? So something like a header of:
NAME SEASON TRADED WITH CREATED BY

For those that don't know the story: The owner of an area chain of McDonald's served their coffee boiling hot 'so the coffee would be still hot when people arrived at work'. The woman (in her 80's) dropped the coffee in her lap and suffered 3rd burns to her genitalia.

Odd Statement by Announcer Last Night
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>During last night's broadcast of the Kings debacle, our young play-by-play announcer made the statement that only 4 players remained from the Vancouver team that lost to the Kings in the 2012 Stanley Cup playoffs and then corrected himself by saying that "with the Sven Baertschi trade today, only three." Anybody know what he was talking about?</div></div>probably misspoke. nobody's said anything about Baertschi being traded, so it's probably in reference to his reassignment to Utica and simply not being on the active roster.

Best player in the league: Crosby or Ovechkin?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rangersandislesfan</b></div><div>But why is the question, Crosby or Ovechkin? Have you heard of Connor McDavid?</div></div>
Crosby and Ovechkin are the two comparables for their generation - a lot like Messi and Ronaldo. They started around the same time and have had a lot of success with their careers. Sure, McDavid is a fantastic player but he's also 10 years younger and hasn't notched the success those two guys have had. It would be like going back to 1993 and answering the question of who is better between Gretzky and Lemieux with Lindros.

Teams that need to blow it up
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Brian2016</b></div><div>I think the Kings are in the worst position of any team in the league right now. Worse than OTT. At least OTT has a decent young D core. ANA is in much better shape. Rakell is young and they have a top 5 goalie. Decent number of young Forward prospects too. I bet Doughty is wishing he waited for UFA. He'd have gotten the same $$$ and could've played anywhere.</div></div>
kings just had 3 draft picks in the top 40. where they got turcotte, bjornfoot, and kaliyev. if all three of those guys hit you have a center, winger, dman from 1 draft. they have vilardi, they have a couple other guys in forward prospects, they are going to get a top 5 pick again this year which will net them a great player for the future. once kovalchuk and carters deals come off the books they have almost 12m in cap space to spend. they could trade brown or maybe sell quick if he rebounds this year. they need a few defensive players. But they have kopitar, toffoli, brown, DD i think they will be back to contenders by 2021-22 season.
