I do like your second line. I believe that Bertuzzi is going to develop into a top 6 player and Rasmussen appears as if he will be NHL ready for next season. I also like Puempel in the line up, he is underrated and overlooked by most.

The amount of Stars I gave should tell it, I think.
The idea is cool, but unrealistic. Trade values are ok.

Yeah man I think that's fair now. Thanks! Really interesting though how this actually might be the way to go. Although we have a ton of decent players, I think with the inconsistency and mediocre state we've been in the last 6-7 years, I think it might be time to have an absolute fresh start.

Stone is definitely worth three 1st's if none of the picks are in the top 10. Then you add in one of the biggest standouts in the OHL in Formenton. I would do that trade for Stone alone but no way I'm adding Formenton. Other than that I think the trades look decent!

New Islanders
Neat group. I agree that the Islanders need help on defense.
You could give Carlson the same 63M over eight years, if you trade for his rights. I bet whatever team has them would consider swapping for any centers you didn't plan on re-signing? Just, for instance....

So, there would be a benefit to Isles fans if JT signed with the Rangers.

Ho-sang
You wouldn't even get Ho-Sang for Okposo straight up, I'm not sure how you think you could get a first too. In spite of Ho-Sang's issues he's still a good player and the Isles are hardly busting a nut to move him. Why would they take back Okposo now he's overpaid for so long (a deal I'm sure they could have given him had they wanted to in the first place)? They'd literally be better served by not qualifying Ho-Sang and just letting him walk for free, not taking Okposo, and keeping their first than making this trade.

I See the Strat Here!
I think the value for Holtby is fair although the Caps would have too many RHD if they re-sign Carlson, which they likely will do. They also have Matt Niskanen, a solid two way top 4 guy, and Madison Bowey, a young player with offensive upside but still ironing out the defensive side of the NHL game.
Treliving is getting bashed by Flames fans for giving up the picks for Hamonic, so for one, I doubt the two teams become trade partners in the near future. Also, both Clutter and Greiss' contracts are looking bad while Ferland is on a cheap, one year deal. He has played well alongside Johnny Hockey and Boring Sean Monahan, so unless someone like Foo or even Lazar emerges as a legit option for the RW on that line, Ferland is not being considered a 'depth winger' by CGY.
Am keeping my fingers crossed that at least one of the Isles' picks makes it into the lottery. Other than Barzal's emergence and Beau/Pulock taking a big step in their development, it has been a tough year for the Isles faithful.

you can add Greiss to Wash as a back up goalie to Grubauer.
The only Unrealistic thing would be Dahlin... and your D depth is questionable... to much depth not enough top

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BigBeardBurns</b></div><div>With this lineup, why need Beauvillier? U can just move Vanek or Duclair up or something. Trade Anisimov plus Connor Murphy for Leddy. (Add a 3rd piece if Isles fans think thats unfair).</div></div>
True, the Hawks wouldn't need Beauvillier and obviously the centerpiece of the trade is Leddy - the Hawks need a "Leddy" - but you can never have too much depth...
I would probably do Murphy & Anisimov for Leddy - I think that would be more than fair.... Especially if Tavares moves on the Islanders will be looking for a couple of centers, so a deal like this could potentially help the Islanders in that case.

THE DREAM OF REBUILDING THE KINGS
Agreed. Most deals are pretty fair.
<a href="/users/Larkinisking" target="_blank">@Larkinisking</a> is probably accurate with his assessment of the Carolina trade.
I feel Dallas views Honka more highly too to deal him and a 2nd for Toffoli...but the framework for a deal might be there.
From a Leaf's perspective. It's a big ask for Doughty but can't imagine anything less would get the deal done. Maybe the 1st rounder is conditional on re-signing.

Doubt Carolina deals a 21 year old Noah Hanifin, For a 33 year old Jeff Carter. Carolina will want a future elite #1C of similar age to Hanifin for him Carter probably doesn't fit their long term plans here.

It would need to be a 1 year deal for Nash IMO because Boston has 8 RFA's due up for new contract and they can't tie that up in Nash. I'd give Nash a 1yr $4 mill, but I'm sure someone else goes more.

2 key moves
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BigBeardBurns</b></div><div>Oh, and Tavares would prob want more in MTL, just a side note...</div></div>
Yeah I wonder what kind of offers he will get, I feel like 12 mil for 8 years would be right at the top though. I can't see him getting McDavid money, being older and not quite as good.
I definitely think Mtl's only chance is to put the best offer out there though, plain and simple. And it probably has to be better than the next best offer by about 1-2m annually, then it becomes difficult to refuse for Tavares and his agents.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BigBeardBurns</b></div><div>U can trade Jordie Benn and Schlemko and get a 4th and 6th/7th instead of burrying them. Put a 2019 2nd on MTL’s side instead of the 2018 one on Edm’s incase this trade doesnt work out for Mtl (like Drouin, then they’re stuck with 6M on RNH). U can put some condition on it or something of u have to, but good trades.</div></div>
Yes a trade for Benn and Schlemko is what should happen, I was just too lazy to think of trading partners, returns, etc. lol so I just buried them, but they need to go.
I think it would have to be the 2018 pick in the Patch trade since that will be a high 2nd rounder. RNH is a really good young player, and I think it would take Patch plus another decent piece to get him. Just my feeling though.
Thanks for the comments!
