Sabres vs Devils in 2 seasons
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>littlejerryseinfeld</b></div><div>I think their big contracts are a little top heavier and with older players
Buffalo hasn't made a prospect depleting move and/or big ufa signing so as of now we will have waves of ELC contracts to support our big money guys.
Should be a fun competition, especially if Lindy sticks around</div></div>
I agree Sabres best players are 25 and younger and top forward prospects will be making the team in two years. I think biggest difference will be defense and goalies. Devils do not have a Levi in the system and hamilton should be declining. I dont think Nemec and Hughes are going to be Dahlin and Power.

That is just false. He has had terrible stats and with Ottawa he had negative value. He has done nothing but decrease his value as leaf. So please explain to me why a year ago Ottawa gave up picks to get rid of contract he would have value now?

Look at Provorov trade. He is going to be UFA and will not resign. Saying you would rather lose him for nothing is dumb. You will be terible this year. Getting a young center who has been one of the best defensive dman with upside on offense. Sabres are to deep in forwards for him to get a shot.

Yeah I don’t think so. Olofsson while gets a lot of hate is still 25 plus goal scorer and should fetch early second to late first. Ilya should get 3rd especially eating both salaries the. U get a 40th overall pick. I think value is very fair.

The Dach trade is what i based this trade off. last years draft was one of the worst drafts in recent memory and this year is suppose to be a very deep draft. Which is why I valued 16th overall more then the 13th and 66. Like i said he has yet to prove anything on rangers and I think he would thrive on sabres.

If he didnt get drafted first overall he wouldn't even be worth a second round pick. Never reached 20 goals or 40 points. This is a very deep draft and think this could help both clubs. Sabres are ready to compete now and Rangers have to many left wingers and not enough cap space. With this trade they can resign UFAs and possible trade pick in another trade.

Is this a Playoff Team
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AC14</b></div><div>Yes the Parayko contract is so bad.
He's being asked to play 20 minutes a night 5v5 with young forwards who are mistake prone, and doing so at a rate of a 36% ozs. But please continue to spout about his back injuries that he missed time for in 2021. Or the fact that he's consistently gotten worse although he's been paired with Niko Mikkola, Marco Scandella and Nick Leddy in a role that is so defensively heavy that it's typically reserved for guys that play 14-15 minutes ES. But lets also ignore the consistent 30 points a season while doing it with virtually no Powerplay time.</div></div>
He is 30 and signed for seven more years. Contract will be fine for next couple years then will be huge anchor on the team. One of the biggest strengths to the sabres future is the players signed long term will still be in prime and cheap. If sabres would take on that contract they will not be giving up anything close to that value.

Sabres say no to both. Dont need another scoring poor defense player especially at that price. Parayko contract is terrible.

Sabres become one of the top teams
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sabres89</b></div><div>You bring up an interesting question. Should Anaheim retain on Gibson? The buying team wouldn't directly be paying for the retention, but Anaheim may find a better market by retaining and indirectly receive compensation for the retention. Kinda like ek65. Nobody that's looking for an offensive d on the wrong side of 30, has 11.5m in free cap for the next few years. If they retain down to 8m, there should be teams interested, the buying teams would be indirectly paying for retention but literally only because the market allowed for it.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MitchMafia</b></div><div>I don’t see what they gain by keeping him. And I agree with retention (Ducks should have cap room for a while given minority’s elc’s) should get a better return</div></div>
I believe the package is more then fair. They get a former first round pick who had great season in AHL. He fits perfectly in your timeline. A young promising goalie with NHL experience. That is equilvalant to two 1st round picks. Not sure how you can argue he is worth more then that. If anything that is an over pay.

Time to go all in
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Czu8iks</b></div><div>CBJ fans would say it's bad deal for them, but they should be reminded their team sucks, and adding scoring is the way to go forward.
I would try to add pick swap 13 OA with 12 OA in Arizona deal. Could be nothing, could be big. Arizona with 2 picks in top 12 could reach, Sabres also would love to reach with their prospect pool.
Flyers will not make that deal. They could take UPL, who still has potential and his value is relatively low. But it wouldn't be trade with Hart going to Sabres.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChucktheFNG</b></div><div>The reason it's a bad deal for Columbus is not because they need to score more, it's the fact they need to be better on defense and with puck control. Oloffson went -28 on a decent team. If the Jackets actually end up with room on the wings (they still need to move 3 or 4 guys for that to be the case) I think it's more likely they pick off cap casualties that can also play in the middle ie. Ross Colton.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sabres89</b></div><div>Look, I like olofsson, I'm probably the last one. I don't think Columbus should be in the market for rentals. Playoff teams that don't score enough (and have a good two-way center for him to play with) are his market. No point trying to jam a square peg into a round hole.</div></div>

Wait, don't answer, I already know why. No thanks to your absurd trade offer.</div></div>
It is a gamble. Could he turn it around maybe. But I don’t believe he will ever live up to 1st overall pick. I just think Sabres have a really young core and he could grow with them and would be best chance he has. If he was a second round pick the value I had in trade is crazy over pay. Only reason you will get any value is because where he was drafted.

No PP time and still produced at the same rate. If he was that good it wouldn’t matter his coach he would play.

It is very rare and one case doesn’t make your point. But more importantly Binnington played over 150 AHL and three season before he made the jump.
