Flyers don't need a goalie prospect, we draft one almost every year and have one of the deepest pools of goalie prospects in the league. I get that Lekk is a wing and we already have depth there, I just want the guy who has a beef with Cutter.

I just found an Athletic article from last deadline and it looks like I was wrong, retention must be done through the entirety of the term they're under contract, not just the active contract. I knew that retention needed to be an equal % across all years of the contract, but wasn't sure if that included if there was an extension. I must have been remembering some speculation from before they got clarification from the league since signing a long term extension then immediately trading the player with money retained hasn't happened in the cap era as far as I know.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Mr_Gardoki</b></div><div>I think you're saying that because you're not familiar with them. These are all former first round picks all within a couple of a years of their draft years and Tippett was a highly touted prospect.
I'd say that Hoglander nor Pod are any higher than those prospects were at the time. Tippett was certainly a higher pedigree than either of them.</div></div>
Both Tippett and Pod were drafted 10th overall. I think they’re quite comparable. When Tippett was traded, his value had come off considerably since he had not established himself in the NHL despite lots of chances. Very similar to Pod. My point isn’t that Vancouver’s prospects are better. It’s that the trade value for the rentals weren’t premium prospects. If Vancouver offered a first and Pod, that would be comparable value

Bud it's a rental, 1st + B Prospect + C Prospect + Previous 39 Goal Scorer, is plenty. Check out some comparables. Horvat, who's a year younger and plays centre, went for a 1st + B Prospect + Middle 6 Winger.

I honestly see Kuzmenko being a very worthwhile gamble for Pits for this year and next. If Pits can get another 3rd or something, then all the power to them. But I actually like this for them. Considering this also wouldn't hamper them from making the playoffs this year either.

you know u have bias and credibility issue too when you say '' the leaf should never be favorites '' right. Cant say they were the underdogs when playing colombus or mtl.

Retaining 1M on Garland just to replace him by signing a 30 year old Teravainen to 5x6.1 is a bad idea

I think they’re comparable but the money is the biggest thing. Jensen makes 4.05M compared to TVRs 3M. It’s not much, but it’s closer to money in money out and makes it more palatable to take on only an extra 900k for the remainder of their contracts rather than 1.9M. I do think right now TVR is also playing better or at least is providing what the caps need - physicality and blocked shots. Jensen is less physical, a better skater though.

Canucks accept IMO but only on the basis that bear signs with the Canucks, if bear doesn't then we probably would have to decline because our Rd depth is fairly weak after Hronek.

Would Vancouver be willing to do their 1st + Willander for Konecny + Walker?
Obviously sucks to move the Willander for a rental and Konecny but to get those two players could be huge
Just me thinking out loud tho lol</div></div>
The only way I’d see the Canucks consider moving Willander is if they’re getting a RHD with term that fits the age of the core (someone like Rasmus Andersson). Can’t see them moving him for a winger

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SomeonesOffended</b></div><div>Gotta think St. Louis declines they’ll want 2 1sts and garland for him</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jim_Benning_Almost</b></div><div>No chance I'd trade Hunter Brzustewicz yet. Buch is a great player, but Hunter one of our future big potentials.</div></div>
I'd consider moving him for a 1st line winger/top 4 RD. It's good to have Willander and Lekkerimaki in the system who could conceivably contribute on ELCs and I think the Canucks best window is probably in the next couple of years while Miller is still producing, the OEL buyout isn't at it's most punitive and Hughes and Demko are on their bargain contracts.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>xercuses</b></div><div>I’d want a little more for Buch ngl</div></div>
Any comparables? I think this offer is fair (good roster player, top prospect and a 2024 first round pick). Buch is a good player but not a superstar e.g. Nylander

The value on Tanev is probably a 1st, retained a touch more and Hanifin prob 1st + 3rd. And no Brodie doesn't add any value to the deal. You are trading him to shed cap or you can keep him.
Not even a flames fan just being realistic.</div></div>

Breakdown here wpuld be Brofie and the 3rds for the retention on Tanev (similar player but retention cost). 1st and Steeves is no where close to landing Hanifin
