The price for Horvat alone would be roster player + prospect + 2023 1st round pick
The price for Kuzmenko alone would be a 2023 1st round pick
The price for Schenn alone would be a 2nd round pick
The price to take on 2 years of Reily at $3m would be a 2nd round pick

Two 1sts are fine but they will be late 1sts. The main problem is VAN adding their 2023 2nd round pick in 2023 and 3rd round pick in 2024. It means the two 1st round picks are not worth as much. Kerfoot is a cap dump. Voit, Timmins and Abramov are worth nothing. Remove the picks added by VAN and its a deal.

If they don't pay Myers $1m to play RD then they will have to pay someone else a minimum of $750k to play RD. So they can keep Little and save $250k, or take Myers and spend an extra $250k for 1 season and net themselves a 4th round pick.
Arizona are cheap but they're not dumb.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>You certainly don't understand the cap and LTIR</div></div>
This would not be a bad idea for Arizona if the trade happened at the beginning of next season, when Myers' signing bonus is paid.
Although Myers has a cap hit of $6m, he will only be owed $1m in actual salary next season. So effectively ARI get a veteran RD for minimal salary cost.
Since Arizona do not have Little on LTIR this season anyway (because their roster is nowhere near the cap limit and they don't need the cap relief). So switching Little's cap hit of $5.2m for Myer's cap hit of $6m is probably worth it to have a contributing player and the 4th round pick that the original poster suggested.

Rebuild in the Offseason
NSH wouldn't trade Jeannot for Garland 1:1, let alone adding a 2nd round pick.
NYI doesn't have the cap space to take on Boeser.
No team is going to want Pearson's remaining $3.25m cap hit next season. He will need to be traded at the 2023 TDL with retained salary to garner a return.

Cheers. Yeah I figured that. But obviously VAN is looking for RD too, so maybe not the best trade partners.
Was thinking Lauzon could handle 3RD this season and surely Prokop must be stepping up to NHL next season?
Another option instead of Stillman is Dermott (a LD but can play RD) but he is a bit more valuable in a trade

Clearly Florida doesn't have the cap space to make this deal happen. Other reasons why this won't happen: OEL has a NMC, VAN won't retain on Garland for 4 years...oh and did I mention Florida doesn't have the cap space...

Foegele could be internally replaced and I personally don't see it costing much if anything to move him. My bet is Holland wanted both Jesse and yamo settled before exploring what to do with foegele. The fact he hasn't been moved yet doesn't mean the cost to move is high just that Holland has to follow a certain order of business first. Decent bottom six forward who makes a somewhat fair wage for his contributions. I don't buy into this narrative that EVERY other team will hold the oilers over the fire and make them pay. Just takes one gm to see foegele as a free upgrade in a future consideration type of move. Good age decent experience there is lots to like about the player.</div></div>
You are right that he is easily replaced, but it won't be easy to move him. Cap is tight all around the league. No one wants mediocre players on overpaid contracts esp with multiple years left. There are about 15 teams that want to move guys like Foegele and not many takers. You will likely have to pay a lot more than you want to in order to move him, but there are teams like Chicago, Arizona and Buffalo that will take assets along with someone like Foegele

Chiarot was a rental (i.e. on an expiring contract) whereas Barrie has 2 seasons left on his contract. And Chiarot is actually a decent defenseman.

I get that you're kidding, but Miller is a top player. In the proposed trade, the 3rd pick is Dermott's value. You're not getting Miller (even as a rental) for an overpaid 30pt winger, a decent RD and a 2nd round pick. Mayfield is the only real piece of value and his contract expires this season. I believe Miller will be traded with an extension in place, which will make his value much higher.

I think trading Pujli when they lack Right shot wingers through out the entire organization is absolutely insane right now. But sadly I still think he will go.
Foegele & Ryan should be the ones to go. Ryan could even be burried in the minors, fingers crossed someone picks him up off waivers... if not, he would only be 250k against the cap playing in the A.</div></div>
EDM should definitely pay to get rid of Foegele. It is the simplest solution to their problem. Waiving Ryan is probably the easiest move to deal with him, actually saves $1.125m so only $125k cap hit remains. Replace him with a league min player and you save $375k. Gives them space to ice a 22-man roster.

There is no advantage to having a player on LTIR and Ferland's contract is not insured, so no team will pay to take Ferland and VAN should not pay anything to get rid of the contract either.

Agree they will try and move those guys, but not going to be cheap. There are a lot of teams looking to move cap space out, lucky EDM still have some high 2023 draft picks to sweeten a deal

I don't mind the Miller trade. But the other moves make our team weaker. Barrie is dreadful in his own end. He can QB a PP, but we don't need that. Dickinson is not a 3C and should not be there. Dahlen likewise on the 4th line and is fringe NHLer. Rather we offer sheet Nic Roy ($3.5m x 4), sign Motte ($1.5m x 2) and a vet D that can play defense like DeHaan ($1.5m x 1)

No one is trading for Barrie at the TDL. He isn't a rental and is woeful in his own zone. If a team needs a cheap PP specialist they could likely sign Subban for much cheaper on a 1 year deal, and get a much better defensive player
