Pageau and Smith and Marleau
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KoneDome</b></div><div>Agreed. Probably a bit of an overpay, but I think Pageau would fit really well in their bottom 6.</div></div>
Pageau is a great 3rd line role playing C. Valuable to a playoff team. I think Pit could try to squeeze something better than a 4th out of Ottawa to balance it out. Even if they overpay I think it's worth it to take as many shots as they can while Sid and Malkin are still playing at the level they are.

Now you're speaking Senators language. This would be a vintage Melnyk trade.

Two Small Moves
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>bigZ98</b></div><div>Yeah but what I am saying is that he wont be producing like he is now if thats why the trade is being done. A 1st for a PK (of which we have plenty already) and role player (again, have plenty) is too much to pay. if it was a lower price (which it wont be because some team will for sure overpay for him) i would be okay with it</div></div>
Agreed. The only reason I think this would be considered is because a) the first will likely be on the lower end and b) they get a mid 2nd back. As a sens fan I'm hoping there is somewhat of a bidding war between a few teams because getting that much for a 3rd line player would be amazing.

Two Small Moves
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>bigZ98</b></div><div>JGP not worth risking the first. He is having a career season and is doing so by logging top line minutes. Bring him to Pitt and hes a 3C with limited ice time (especially with how good Bluegers line has been) and his numbers likely fall back to earth. Its almost like a Brassard thing waiting to happen again. If the pens are gonna target a 3C they have to target someone who can and does play 3C. Which is why im willing to give Bjugstad another look at 3C with how this team is playing rn</div></div>
Pageau is a legit 3C. Good PKer and role player. Brassard was a guy who should have been playing 2C but was in the bottom 6 because Pit has Crosby and Malkin, and also wasn't really that good anymore anyways. That being said I don't think Pageau is worth the price most people are tagging him with, but I don't think this trade is too bad considering they get a 2nd back.

Avs Price
I think Price is still a top 10-15 goalie in the league based on skill. His numbers reflect below that in the past few years but relying solely on numbers despite how "advanced" they might be is a bit silly.
What gets lost in translation here with everyone arguing is that although Price is still a good goalie, his trade value is <em>extremely low</em> due to his contract and performance the past few years. Clearly he hasn't been playing as well as he did from 2014 to 2017, and when you make 10.5 mil you are expected to carry. Suggesting any team trades their best prospect and a first for that is insane. Especially a contending team that needs all the cap they can get to prepare for inevitable injuries in the playoffs.

At least 20 team would move the world for Price . He's not for sale at dollarama .</div></div>
I don't think any teams would move the world for Price. I'm saying that as a big fan of him. He could be performing at Vezina levels but the simple fact is he makes too much money for a team to be super competitive and a team close now would sacrifice a lot by bringing him on now (Avs). Your goalie can be a wall but you still need depth up front to go all the way. He carried the Habs for many seasons but I just don't think a goalie is worth so many assets no matter who it is.

projecting 20-21 opening line up plus trades
Judging by the WJC I think Byfield would need some time. He didn't look great against bigger older players. That being said a few years down the line he would look great in a sens jersey for a few years.

I'd take a pick that's anywhere between late first to mid second, or a decent prospect, whatever the best offer of that is.
Pageau is a good role player, not a guy you dish out a bunch of picks and prospects for. He's being a bit overhyped.

I'd take that in a second if I were Ottawa.
I like Pageau but he's overrated here. He is a good role player and addition to a team looking to make a push. He's getting decent numbers with higher than average ice time this year. If a team overspends for him to play on the 3rd line, they will be massively disappointed with his offensive production. This is a good offer for Edmonton to shore up their bottom 6 and pk.

hall trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>coga16</b></div><div>I do see Timmins being the piece that moves. 1st Timmins and Kaut is what I think gets the job done. Other than that, then Devils are trying to be greedy and it will burn them. They are on the clock and don't have much leverage in maximizing hall deals (agreeing for him to extend iwht a new team and its been speculated hes going to UFA regardless)</div></div>
I think a 1st Timmins and Kaut should be a no brainer for NJ. Well all argue on here about the other Avalanche pieces being a part of the deal but come to think of it in reality Colorado probably doesn't give any of their top top pieces up. This way, Col still gets a nice luxury of Hall for the ROS and playoffs without losing one of their best young players/prospects. Sucks to lose Timmins who I think is really good, but the 1st will probably be low. Joe could make this trade and probably sleep easy knowing he did what he could for a nice run this year and still have a future.

Hall
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>coga16</b></div><div>Again that’s not the point, plus hall is not a missing piece for them to make a cup run, when 90% of Avs fans say that on this site yet other fan bases ignore it..around in circles we go</div></div>
Hall might not be a "missing piece" for Colorado this season. But if you can add him for a prospect who isn't even playing and some picks, it should be considered. Real men, like I assume Joe Sakic is, would have the sack to pull the trigger on a deal like that to get Hall and probably be cup favorites. Put Hall on the 2nd line to keep your first in tact, and your 2nd line is even filthier. Players like that don't come around very often. I realize letting go one of your best prospects is hard, but when you have so many it should be a no brainer for management.
