giving waiverwire players a chance
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bill_Karsen</b></div><div>Melker would be an asset to most teams. He’s a very, very good PK’er and very defensively responsible player. He’s everything a team wants on their fourth line and I’d take him over Martinook 7 days a week. He’s also having a great year so far. I’m guessing my fellow sharks fans either don’t know anything about him or they just want to clear his cap.
Habs definitely reject, though Radil had a good game against Anaheim on Thursday. If Radil keeps playing that way then I’d rather keep him and his low cap to be honest.</div></div>
Marty just isn't getting traded tho lol, ask any canes fan, they'll say the same things about Marty that you said about Melker lol

Simek the Radimer One last move to complete SJ
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bill_Karsen</b></div><div>Well when you lack draft picks like SJ does it’s a necessity. We’ve found some good gems. Simek, Melker, Suomela, Donskoi, Korenar, Sorensen etc. (Sorensen and Donskoi were drafted but we’re toiling in Europe when SJ signed them). Not to mention serviceable guys like Bergmann and Yurtaikin who have debuted this season.</div></div>
I’d much rather take my chances on guys like that instead of signing freaking Brouwer and McGinn to PTO’s:veryangry

Haha we don’t go that far, but I always find time to mention the absolute hilariousness that was Oskar Sundqvist being the 6th best forward on a cup team after being a horrendous the previous year.

Simek the Radimer One last move to complete SJ
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bill_Karsen</b></div><div>Maybe, I think it’s more that he completes the pairings, he makes the perfect partner for Burns, he’s very physical and doesn’t make mistakes too often. He’s already chipped in a goal, some good passes and a heap of blocks and hits. He came in last year when the team was struggling too and after he arrived they went like 29-7, which also had to do with Karlsson turning it up. We love Simek in SJ. ( he also looks like a crazed murderer)</div></div>
“Crazy murderer” Holy crap he literally is Sundqvist (look at my pfp for reference.)

Philadelphia Flyers signed Ivan Provorov (6 Years / $6,750,000 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Brian2016</b></div><div>Also gotta take into account the fact that Morrissey should see substantial exposure to WPG's elite forwards both at 5on5 and on the PP. His offensive numbers should probably be higher than Provorov's assuming Ghostesbehere retains the #1 PP role. Maybe it's just b/c I've seen Provorov a lit more on tv and in person b/c the Flyers play the Devils 4 times a year and PHI gets more national TV exposure, but I just think he's the total package of 2-way skill, physicality, and high hockey IQ. Before his regression last season I thought he was a future Norris contender...He still might be, but who knows.</div></div>
Also, Dom Luszczyszyn at The Athletic in his annual team previews/rankings grades Provorov out as a 0.9 on his Game Score whereas Morrissey is a 1.6. It’s behind a paywall, but it’s a very rigorous analysis (accounts for scoring contributions and expected goals for/against primarily as well as other things and corrected for age curves). It’s weighted with the most recent season in account, so that doesn’t help Provorov, but it shows that Morrissey is a top pair (but not elite) option whereas Provorov is a solid 2nd Pair guy (over the past 3y).

Class 108 trading

Yeah depending on your rankings ??:
1. Crosby
2. Ovechkin
3. Malkin
4. Patrick Kane
5. Patrice bergeron/ Jonathan toews
Patrice bergeron is there because he is one of my favorite players and because he is the most complete players in the league. I add a hard time with that 5 spot, stamkos add some great year but he was inconsistent when st louis was traded so he relied a lot on him for is production. Claude giroux add is moment but never brings the flyers to the other level, same as joe thornton. Ryan getzlaf was pretty steady he was a candidate and i add duncan keith and erik karlson up there but karlsson hasn’t crack the top 5 because of is defensive play and is injury’s

Adding on the right side
I'd hate to give up Spiridonov, or Dahlen for that matter, for guys who aren't even true top 6 players. It shouldn't take more than a middling prospect and a mid round pick to get either Strome or Fast, and I don't think the Sharks need both.

Thornton centering the promising youth
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bill_Karsen</b></div><div>I don’t think so. He’s strong defensively, skates well and has scoring ability. Ruined? C’mom, he isn’t Melker. Also the sharks top 6 is pretty interchangeable, Kane and Hertl could easily be top line. They were swapped around a lot last year in PDB’s never ending line blender.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>papishark</b></div><div>Sorensen will get ruined with first line minutes</div></div>
I do agree Sörensen would not have a good time with those minutes. Call me crazy but here’s an idea (I don’t love it as it puts a lot on the kids “not really kids anymore” and all on labanc).
Meier - Hertl - Labanc
Kane - Couture ‘C’ - Sörensen
Chekhovich - Thornton - True
Gambrell - Chemlevski - Karlsson
Now you can also do
Kane - Hertl - Meier
Sörensen - Couture - Labanc
As a hot fix to help labanc and Sörensen.
This being a great situation if it works as we now have a great top 6 (if it works) and not trading to make it great saving assets and cap space
