overhaul
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>StutzlesNumber1Fan</b></div><div>Replace Cates with Bonk and we can talk.</div></div>
From the Flyers standpoint, Bonk is developing perfectly to slide in to their roster at RD in their top 4 very soon.
Sanheim - Drysdale
York - Bonk
It would take a lot from the Sens to get him out of their prospect pool.

What will an extension for Shane Pinto look like
He's looked really good, but still a lot to prove with his injury/suspension he's missed a lot of games.
They'll bridge him 2 years at 4 - 4.5 million a season.

Pinto seems to be getting better every game he plays in the NHL. I don’t know where his ceiling is but I feel like they ride it out for a while even though this deal is tempting. The question is whether they feel like he can out compete Norris for 2C and take less money.
Ultimately the Sens go Stutzle-Pinto-Grieg/Ostapchuk (one moves to wing) at C for now. Norris becomes the piece to move.

Sens pass, they can get better futures for Chychrun.
I like Tavares, good player. Nothing against him.

Because I think he would pair well with Sanderson or Chabot and we’re stacked at Center. Deal addresses a need and clears 1.4 million dollars in cap.

My only worry is I think his numbers are inflated because Saginaw is absolutely unreal.
It depends on the dynamic of LHD/RHD and where Ottawa see that being the deal breaker because I think Dickinson is better on London overall.

At this point, he could anywhere from 4th - 11th. So it's in the realm of possibilities.
I think if Lindstrom is still on the board at 6-7 he'd be tough to pass up for Parekh. Catton is also on the radar and some places I've seen him like 10-11 which is nuts in my opinion.

Seperate both players on the Calgary side, they aren't a package, if you were the GM, what does it take to get each one of them individually and what situation are you in (re-tool or re-build):
Markstrom - They'd probably want a 1st in there and an above average pair of prospects 1 likely a goalie (he goes to a team in win now mode with a goalie issue)
Weegar - 1st and a A level prospect at the very least, he only gets moved in a complete rebuild as they would want the cap space. (Otherwise he's been great for Calgary if they're re-tooling they keep him.)

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Leafsfan98</b></div><div>Mintten, Cowan and Knies are untouchables according to Friedman...
So, I packaged a 1st+ 2 of Toronto's best available prospects and a conditional 3rd that becomes a 2nd if something that's likely to happen happens... Then add in a guy that can play the right side/can be flipped/could help fix the room in Ottawa for a position that Ottawa is very strong in (LHD with Sanderson and Chabot)</div></div>
If those guys are untouchables, the Leafs do not have the assets available to gain a player like Chychrun. The Jones trade is a hypothetical so that 2nd/3rd isnt a set asset.

2. A 2 way RHD is not what the Sens need? Got it
3. Top 60 in goals per 60 while being good on his stick... Get hit a decent bit but always gets back up and keeps going...
5. Last time I checked, the McCabe trade was a 1st, 2nd and 2 AHLers for McCabe at 50%+Lafferty+2 5ths... The upgrade for conditional 3rd (that can become a 2nd) to a 5th more than covers it... Hanifin trade was: 1st+3rd+2 5ths+fringe NHLer for Hanifin 75% retention + worse fringe NHLer</div></div>
He’s a pending UFA at the end of the year, they can sign him if they want to without making him a piece in a trade.
Niemela hasn’t played a single game in the NHL so I don’t understand how you consider him a “2 way D-man” just because he’s a RHD doesn’t mean he’s the right guy.
Let’s be honest, you packaged a couple 2nd tier prospects and a d-man the Leafs are going to let walk and threw in a 1st and assume that gets you a division rivals top pair D-man retained for a full season.
No chance.
Cowan or Minten gets the conversation started if prospects get tossed in to whatever deal involves Chyc.

Couple of things:
1. Brodie is a pending UFA on the back 9 of his career, so that part is irrelevant. Plus he's not very good and a LHD which the Sens don't need.
2. Niemela is probably the last style of defenseman the Sens need at the moment.
3. Robertson is soft, doesn't kill penalties and provides secondary scoring at best, this type of player can be found anywhere at any time in free agency and/or other leagues.
4. The 1st is a good starting point,
5. The 3rd and 5th swap is for the retention.
The Sens decline as it addresses none of their needs.

Tarasenko is, he’s worth the 1st (2026 is far away btw) with a mil retained.
Gauthier is interesting and Schmidt is a shot in the dark. Jeannot is for cap purposes and the 3rd is irrelevant. That part does not get Chychrun.

It’s reasonable for Chychrun, not enough for both with $1 mil retention based on how he was inputted in your lineup

Correct. I just worry about packaging Tank and him for an underwhelming return. It’s 2 separate deals at the deadline.
4 puck moving LHD with Zub and JBD is skilled but chaotic, add the youth factor and you can see where the problem lies.

Sanderson Zub
Chabot JBD
Chychrun Guenette
Branny dealt, and Hamonic in the press box is honestly what I’d like to see to end the season. You burn an entry level year with Guenette is the only problem. Plus who knows when Zub is back.
You can’t have 23 million on the left side with the Chychrun extension but patience is key to maximize the return. The 3rd pair has to be physical (e.i. Kleven next year and a FA who’s physical and shut down on the right side). 2 puck mover PP QBs and 2 defensive specialists paired together in the top 4.

He had a bad night. Re pair him and move on. Hamonic also had a bad night but I don’t blame him completely for Chychrun’s game tonight to be fair.
Our goaltending situation is beyond streaky… it’s a serious problem, I’m not going to say either goalie is bad, but it requires a shake up.
