Utah
Possibly have to bargain one of those dman rather than top term and top dollar for all, but other than that looks great, believe a early dman drafted last year, might need to be paid in 3 years, also some of the kids, but looking good, like the build.

Not even a sneak it past the new gm with some shiny prospects and picks. Leave the contract dump till later in the conversation lol

cup yr 1 in SLC
No thanks from Utah, this team is built for a good run, anybody added should have a 3/5 year window of good play in front of them. Might start by buying guentzel/ and or Reinhart, leave the center ice position with geekie coming, and then figure out blueline from there, maybe a purchase of skji and or pesce to start. Keep on drafting and developing along with some key ufas, capdump is closed moving forward lol

Not sure why someone would pay for that player and caphit, would a random mid making a million and play quarter or a third of the season, not worth more? Possibly younger with more potential going forward?

Rather 2 years of him than 6 or whatever is left on that kadri deal, that’s a lot of cash for somebody that possibly backs up top 6, slotted 3rd line vet center is a little over doing it.

Jenner/laine for both packages, gives you a 2 year trial over 6 years of kadri, would be interesting what Columbus says?

trading matheson to Utah
Bad karma move on utahs part, hopefully he has a career like his pops in Utah. Probably just easier for Utah to spend the cap to get the return anyway.

Picking 5th
Doesn’t really do much for Arizona, they have an abundance of picks and quantity of prospects, they are shooting for gold, need of franchise changers via draft/free agency or any trades.

Utah closing cap dump, busiest buyer July one with 20 plus million per to spend, firsts are nice, but roster spots going to be tight all ready with all the picks going forward.

Wouldn’t be straight up, but something along your capdump theory, solve it all in one swing, shiny with cap sandwich, see how they chew on it.

Utah can make there own potential mistakes, but go buy guentzel or and reinhart, maybe one of those Carolina dman also, quite the squad for Utah.

Utah go buy guentzel and or reinhart and keep the kids, guenther Macelli and geekie would be a non starter for me, Vegas 2.0 coming without the Vegas draw and no state income tax, but this team is primed for about 3/4 ufas to go with the kids and be instant contenders.

premature speculation
Utah and carolina kind of interesting trade partners, utah could use 2c/ offensive veteran forward to improve group, and ld top end to do something similar and have the picks and kids to do it. They possibly have an interesting tender with some term to throw in along with some decent cap hits or picks to send back.

Coyotes probably don’t have a great use for that second, or add it the cupboard of seconds they all ready have, probably moving everyone to Utah that has term, than adding players with cash or picks over going younger or draft capital.

Are the moose not in the middle of their own playoff hunt and possibly playoffs in Milwaukee? Probably minimal movement but possibly anything nagging or could use the game off should come out for the jets. But shouldn’t mess with the moose too much.

Can’t give that much term and money to monahan, slippery slope, stastny similarity. Hopefully not out termed, but hopefully not too much term, I actually wouldn’t mind a little raise and term on Stanley, lambert isn’t ready for 2c, but possibly a perfetti type audition to the nhl. Probably a few more suitors for montour, so may take bigger number and more term. Interesting build, could be blockbuster season yet of a hockey trade and possibly get back a 1 for ehlers/iafallo/random prospect.

Hopefully We Have To Defend The Cup Next Season
Respect the creativity of the trade and that many picks possibly can’t be turned down, but Arizona/utah have a ridiculous amount of picks all ready and cap for days, so would be interesting how they proceed forward on this. Possibly eyeball the replacement in free agency and add the picks and keep it going. Quite a retention might be an issue, but still 3 years of firsts tough to turn down.

Sounds like Utah spending to the cap and in doing so, not going to have the roster spots for all those draft picks, probably going to have a Carolina defenseman or two from free agency, maybe pick between guentzel and Reinhart or both, new Vegas 2.0 with a healthier cap room and a plethora of picks and prospects to play with.

A lot depends on ehlers and then Connor trades or extensions going forward. I wonder if there is a predraft trade of some sort that brings a 1st possibly with a rhd dman that is in the mix and has some team control, possibly a center prospect with something similar to compete for 2c, obviously depending on monahan also. Looking like a blockbuster a brewing, don’t mind Stanley and heinola as 6/7, but could use a rhd dman to join the fray.
