Sunny
You can do Scandella traded at half retention. Then sign Sunny with whatever you want for a year. Then you start Tucker in the minors. Lines would be:
Vrana - Thomas - Kyrou
Buchnevich - Schenn - Neighbours
Saad - Hayes - Kapanen
Toropchenko - Sundqvist - Blais
Leddy - Parayko
Krug - Faulk
Perunovich - Bortuzzo
Binnington - Hofer
Scr. MacEachern - Walker - Rosen

I'd add a few B names to that list. Zherenko, Robertsson, maybe Beck and Buchinger.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Blues4TheCup</b></div><div>fair enough. there is risk. Who would you want at 10? Im hoping for Moore or Leonard</div></div>
Reinbacher or Moore would be great, but I fear they'll both be gone. Leonard or Dvorsky would be cool consolation prizes. If all of them are gone, I might turn to Danielson, and perhaps even try to trade down a few spots to grab him.
My general comps:
Reinbacher looks to me a lot like Petro at that age. Like A LOT.
Moore = Larkin
Leonard = reminds me of Coronato, or maybe even like Schwartzy if he could also play C (wouldn't that have been something)
Dvorsky is a tough one. Hmmm... maybe... like a poor man's Malkin? Or like Horvat if he was more responsible defensively?
Danielson is a lot like O'Reilly, but faster and meaner.
Honestly, I just want it to hurry up and get here already.

SJ Draft Carlsson Swap Vrana with Labanc Retained for a Swede Czech Roster
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CheechYou</b></div><div>It's more even than we'd think at first glance. Also, Labanc has far better underlying numbers than his point totals would indicate. Just needs a change of scenery.</div></div>
Ok but Vrana has 8g in 10 games with STL and when you add in his 2a he is at a point a game pace. Labanc may need a change pace but Vrana clearly doesn't. So why trade a player who is thriving in STL for a player that might bounce back? I have nothing against Labanc he is a solid bottom 6 forward but he isn't going to return Vrana.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Blues4TheCup</b></div><div>why are you not over the cap? is brodin on LTIR?</div></div>
Oh, CF ACGM doesn't calculate the cap correctly at the end of the year. The cap is actually calculated daily and so each day under the cap banks against your overall total. It's weird, but it's how it works. So even though the Wild were like 1.5M under the cap on a whole year basis, at the deadline they could sign a total of about 10M in annual salary. We only take on the remaining daily cap of the people we sign. It's always funky and there's a calculator on CF for it, but ACGM doesn't use it.

next year
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Blues4TheCup</b></div><div>who do you want at 3C? also who do you want with our pick? Sale? Sandin - Pelikka?</div></div>
If we do end up 9th, I'd want either Reinbacher, Dvorsky, Danielson or Moore with that pick. With the later 1sts, I'd like one of Price, Lindstein, Simashev or Molendyk and then perhaps Stramel, Honzek, Ziemmer or Heidt (depending on what transpires before then).
The 3C issue is tough. I'd love Acciari back, or even Barby or Sunny, but there's bound to be a lot of competition for those guys. I wonder if we could snag Laughton or Sturm for a decent price, but really I'd be happy with a short term stop gap player like Bjugstad for a year or two. The LDs are my top priority for this summer. I certainly hope it's also Army's.

Taresenko having a full NTC clearly at play here. Probably not many options for Doug Armstrong to make, got the best deal he could, otherwise he walks for nothing.
Held onto him a year too long

I could see a 2nd plus a 3rd for both and that's probably the max they can get. Something like the 2024 2nd and the lowest of the 2023 3rd round picks

As nice a prospect as Jones is, I think we're well past our small offensive LD quota. Unless Army has a way to move Krug if not also Leddy, Robertson and the 2nd would be preferable.

I just don't think the Blues want much to do with Foegele, he's not having a good season and he's signed for another year at a semi-significant cap number. Not really worth it if all we're getting is a third, I'd rather let Accari walk and get nothing.

Boston Bruins signed Mitchell Miller (3 Years / $950,000 AAV)
In case you needed to be reminded of who this moron is, here is a snippet from Wikipedia:
In 2016, Miller and a classmate were found delinquent in an Ohio juvenile court on charges of assault and a violation of the Ohio Safe Schools Act.[4] The pair were accused and found guilty of forcing a developmentally disabled African American classmate, Isaiah Meyer-Crothers, to eat a piece of candy that they had wiped along the inside of a urinal, repeated bullying of Meyer-Crothers, and repeatedly calling him a n*****. Surveillance video also captured them kicking and punching Meyer-Crothers.
Really hope this degenerate heathen gets whats coming to him, he doesnt EVER deserve to step foot on NHL ice.

Change the third to a fourth and that’s probably a done deal. A 3rd is too much for Mikkola imo.

(CGY/FLA) - Tkachuk for Huberdeau, Weegar, Schwindt
Holy ****. Capital B Blockbuster.
This is fun. Is this what the NBA feels like all the time?
Seriously what the hell is the Atlantic divison? This arms race is just getting silly.
And with everything going on, will Huberdeau want to stay in Calgary? His contract is up soon. Weegar's contract is up too btw. I don't see why not but I didn't see why not with Tkachuk or Gaudreau either so.
Anyway time to be controversial: Huberdeau is a great playmaker, one of the best, but he is very one dimensional in his talents and as such gets overrated. Weegar is great so that helps to even it out but with the contracts I'd rather Tkachuk signed for 8 years at 9.5.
Literally who cares about a 1st in the year 3000. Time value is a thing people. That guy won't play until 2030.
I like this for Florida much more than for Calgary. They should have gone for a futures package and rebuilt (Lundell, etc from Florida). They weren't good enough before, just got worse and if they can't sign Huberdeau they are ****ed. And now they have missed on the top of the 2023 draft class too. Not that its a bad return, hell its a good return but I just don't think its the RIGHT return

I get the sentiment, but you are not getting him next year as a UFA. His big deal is coming this year to the team that trades for him. No team (Blues included) are going to trade without at least the assurance Matthew wants to be here in the long haul. You either trade for him now, or watch him play somewhere else for the next 8 years

Matthew Tkatchuk to the Blues
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Blues4TheCup</b></div><div>most I would do is Tarasenko, Neighbours and a 1st. otherwise I would wait until he is a free agent</div></div>
From what I've read, CGY isn't going to let this situation get to arbitration. Either a trade or a longterm extension; letting him get to a 1yr deal could be a fireable offense. If Tkachuk's camp makes it clear that there are only a few (or one) team that he will sign long term with, that cuts into their leverage but it still should yield them a better return than they'd get if they try to move him on a 1yr deal.
If it comes out that he only will sign long-term in STL, I could see the pkg you have - Tarasenko (could go to a 3rd team), Neighbours, 1st. Otherwise with competition I think the Blues would be offering a little more. Probably not as extreme as some of these armchairs I've seen lately, holy smokes.
