Pirri should have left Vegas, would have gotten more ice time somewhere else

Benning is worth so much more than Brown, and he's probably better than Psysk, too.
Also, Gagner was the Oilers 4th leading scorer last year (P/60), why are you sending him to the AHL?

Nylander - Slowly get better
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DirtyDangles</b></div><div>Non of those guys you listed are 2nd line players no matter who you stick with them.</div></div>
<a href="/users/Bluetomorrow83" target="_blank">@Bluetomorrow83</a>
Not my battle, but I thought some facts were in order:
Tanev plays the 3rd hardest minutes of any forward on his team, after Wheeler and Scheifele. He starts a lot more in the d-zone than they do too. He has a positive DFF% and GF% during those minutes. By TOI, linemates and production he's a 3rd liner. He's WPG's best PKer. These things have value to EDM, even if they aren't sexy.
Donskoi plays anywhere from 1st to 3rd line, had the 7th toughest minutes on his team this year and doesn't PK, but man his numbers vs Elites are good - easily best on his team.
Pirri is a 4th liner, gets fantastic results (71 GF%!) but in a fairly sheltered role.
Nylander is a good 2nd liner, has the advantage of being younger than the others, but played very sheltered minutes this year due to starting late. Even last year though, he played the 7th toughest minutes on the team, hardly a 1st line driver.
I thought I would add each player's 5v5 p/60 (and TOI) - and their most common linemates - for the last few years for context.
Nylander
16-17: 1.77 (1050:46) - Matthews, Hyman
17-18: 2.38 (1134:55) - Hyman, Matthews
18-19: 1.78 (708:49) - Kadri, Matthews
Donskoi
16-17: 0.98 (736:52) - Couture, Ward
17-18: 1.85 (842:40) - Pavelski, Meier
18-19: 1.90 (1008:55) - Kane, Hertl
Tanev
16-17: 0.53 (452:55) - Lowry, Thorburn
17-18: 1.41 (640:19) - Copp, Lowry
18-19: 1.53 (940:19) - Lowry, Perrault
Pirri
16-17: 0.95 (571:01) - Lindberg, Fast
17-18: 6.02 (29:54) - Tuch, Karlsson
18-19: 1.91 (376:40) - Tuch, Eakin

TBL trade looking for feedback
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MG1986</b></div><div>Which team are you talking about? I was talking about the proposed deal with Tampa Bay. With their current roster, they have what it takes to go to the Stanley Cup finals, assuming everyone stays healthy. But then you mention Duclair? Are you referring to the Blue Jackets? That team's a mess. I wish they would deal their upcoming UFAs to make this trade season more exciting :P</div></div>
What he's telling you, is that this is offseason moves. Meaning the whole season is over and that's when these trades would happen. This team is for 19-20.

Lucic to Vegas

I agree. I would rather just keep Lucic then do this deal. I also think if the Oilers retained 2-3M per year there would be more teams then a person thinks wanting him.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Claesson4Norris</b></div><div>Sens say no. Bobby Ryan may be older and have a worse contract buy he's also the better player in my opinion. He also has the bonus of not being Milan Lucic. but Hoffman and RNH have about equal value, but there is a huge difference between the quality of players available at 4 and 10. EDM needs to sweeten the pot</div></div>
Sorry I cant see how RNH and Hoffman have equal value. Nuge is 24 entering his prime, Hoffman is 29 on the decline he is a one dimensional player, where as Nuge is a natural center that can play wing. Bobby Ryan in the past 5 seasons with OTT hes only manage 135 point in 353 games played, and only hit 45 points his first year and has been unable to produce more then 30 points since.. and in the past 5 seasons has missed a total of 57 games. For numbers sake, Milan in the same span has 242 point and has only missed a grand total of FOUR games in 5 seasons. Simple facts... Milan Lucic is the better player by a country mile...

Year 2: Thrive
I really like the team. That right side still looks a little weak but for all we know Poolparty and Yamamoto could be bonafide NHL ready by then. The only concern is having Gustav and Lucic on the same team with those contracts scare me, but otherwise I like what you've done!

Five stars just to take away the spurious one star rating.
Yes, you're right, obviously, that the Oilers could use upgrades at right D and goalie.
Any chance at six years of Draisatl for eight years of Carlson (signed and traded, 8x8), eight years of Grubauer (rfa, probably around 4M?), and one year of Connolly (who scored more goals than any remaining Edmonton winger this year besides RNH(?))?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Capitalfail67</b></div><div>sooo how are you going to move a 6 million dollar contract for the next 5 years for a player who is 30 and will average between 30-40 points? playing with talent players
nug is a center....why waste him at wing? look at malkin and seguin stamkos all centers who hate playing wing......they dont play nearly as well at wing
aberg is out playing 80% of the roster thats really harsh</div></div>
Nuge has been on the wing for 7 games, he’s put up 4 goals and 5 assist. That’s not a long time but it’s worth trying instead of trading him for just a winger. He can always be slotted back at Center if they need him too.
Lucic... sure that’s a tough sell and we are probably stuck but if there’s a few GMs who might trade for him Bergevin would be one of them. Wouldn’t be the first time he traded a younger more skilled player for someone on the back end of their career
Aberg is okay but he didn’t do much a few games ago when he was on the top line with Mcdavid
