<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>edeangel84</b></div><div>The people calling for his head were the same ones defending Bylsma. Now we see it again, Sully is great but he was let down by goaltending... nonsense. The guy doesn’t make adjustments. And the forecheck? Huh? The forechecking was on the other side of the ice when they absolutely blitzed our D in our own third of the ice. We had a lot of shots on net and Sorokin saw the vast majority of them because almost none of our forwards like to go to the front of the net</div></div>

I too wish he would have made some adjustments to the forward lines. There wasn't much to be done defensively, so I give him some lee-way there and people saying Legace should have been put in net are out of their minds. Maybe you make a goalie change after the 4th goal game 6, but still the damage was done at that point. Sully needed to get Jake and Rust away from the Pelech/Pulock pairing but he was too hardheaded to take Jake off of Sid's wing and Jake drowned the entire series as a result. Easily his worst showing of his career.

I think it makes sense to bring Sullivan back for another year. This is a team that had no consistency on the blueline all year, a huge question mark in net, and basically an entire new cast of forwards trying to mesh together with constant injuries that finished at the top of the toughest division in the league and I would agree with hockeyfanatic outplayed a very good Isles team in most ways in the first round. Their young goalie stole the show and our young goalie **** the bed. It was optimistic to rely on an unproven young netminder to anchor the last remaining open window of the Crosby/Malkin era but at the same time we just got done watching Murray do it, and so maybe that's what fueled it. Either way this offseason has to be about solidifying the net, having a better option than Legace or DeSmith to turn to in the playoffs if a situation like this happens in the future.
