You'd be surprised how much the flat cap affects his next contract.
The only team with the space for a 9-million dollar contract is the Ottawa Senators, and even then Eugene Melnyk does't like good players so that won't work.

1) Montreal trading a guy under team control for another rental lol. (Tatar, Petry, Gallagher, Danault, Palmieiri , thats a lot of rentals)
2) Youre practically giving Danault away
3) Colorado has a ton of depth and arent in need of bottom 6 guys with term</div></div>
1) Montreal trading a guy who doesn't fit into the lineup for a RW who can score and a good LHD. We don't need Palmieri for very long, especially with Caufield waiting in the wings.
2) I'm trading Danault for a big winger who needs a change of scenery after an injury-riddled year, but has a lot of potential. I also get an experienced C who can fill that 3C role.
3) Well... fair point.

I don't see the Jets accepting the Laine offer. Not a problem with me, I would prefer Nikolaj Ehlers anyway.

MTL accepts the Domi trade. It's a great hockey trade. The Danault trade gives me pause because Backlund is older, even though he had a good year. Might need to add a piece to that one.

While I'm sure Danault would love to centre a line with Panarin and Kakko, MTL will not trade Danault for futures. The time for that has long since passed.

You don't like the trade. That's fine. You're entitled to your opinion.
And for the record, I would be shocked if Domi goes for 8th overall.

Fair point about Pearson and Domi's point production.
The fact that Pearson was traded for Gudbranson only means that the Canucks won that trade. Filip Forsberg was once traded for Martin Erat, but that does not make Forsberg any less of a player, and the same applies here.

I think it's a no, but not necessarily a hard one. Pearson had a good year, and if he were a RW and there were some more assets heading our way I would consider it.

I can't tell what you're really saying, but I get the impression that you don't like the Killorn trade.
How many middle-six wingers were on pace for 59 points when the season was paused?

I think the Canadiens would consider it. I can't say for sure if they would accept, but they need a guy like Buchnevich: a young RW who can score. Pro-rated over an 82-game season, Buch got 55 points last season. If you want Danault, I'm sure a package centred around Buchnevich could be arranged.

I know that a Habs armchair GM roster posted that Danault trade, but I think that Danault goes for immediate help, not futures. MTL says no.

I applaud how you don't hold back in your trade offer for Mackinnon, willing to give up seemingly untouchable pieces. However, Colorado only accepts a Nathan Mackinnon trade offer if the player going their way is Nathan Mackinnon. In other words, they won't trade him.

Not to discuss NHL20 trades, these deals are just trying to incite flame wars. I just looked through a bunch of the trades in this simulator, and I must say, I would be shocked if any of them happened. It is possible to claim that all of these trades are troll offers. The fact is that fans can't get past their biases when submitting trades. I have never seen a trade on this site where both fanbases said "I accept". Perhaps it would be wise, in the interest of not wasting time calling out trades, to raise the standards of a troll offer to any trade where the gap in value rivals that of the Grand Canyon. Under this new definition I sincerely doubt that this remains a "troll offer." Laine for, say, Parise and a 7th-round pick would be a troll offer. This is merely a trade that Winnipeg passes on.

If you wish to call out every Laine trade as a troll offer I'm afraid you will never leave your keyboard. There are people who use this trade simulator not to submit trades that Kevin Cheveldayoff would accept, but to bring impact players to their favourite teams for minimal cost. Chevy does not read these trade simulations, and he certainly does not use these to gauge Laine's value. Unless you yourself are Patrik Laine, I fail to grasp why you continue to rip on the fantasies of other fans.
