Prospects Earning Jobs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>arafay</b></div><div>Lambert isn’t ready for nhl in my opinion. Lucius needs to get back up to hockey speed. He’s spent too much time out with injury. I think he at least starts in the A, then works his way up like perfetti.</div></div>
Agreed. Samberg is the only prospect here that should make the NHL. DO NOT RUSH Lambert, he will be deadly, but let him hone his craft in the AHL or in a Euro league for a year or two

Balanced Attack
I kind of want a blockbuster, Dubois, heinola, and Gus, two guys getting stuck in ahl anyway, and see what the return is from montreal, even if it’s a bunch of guys with 1-3 year terms, and picks and prospects with some team control. Kind of take a swing with one hand and defend with the other. There’s a few guys probably still on the Montreal gms list to get rid of the last guys misfires. What kind of uproar does last years first bring? Few vets he probably wants gone too, turn the room over to some younger players, where Winnipeg is still sitting with some vets, that could take it right off the rails or make it work.

Are they a playoff threat with Klingberg
Not this season, even in the Pathetic Division. It's too much to ask for both Wright and Beniers to get going in their rookie years. But they'll be breathing down the Ducks' necks and in 2023-2024 they'll start to make a real impression. Of course, that's IF they land Klingberg, and Grubauer returns to the mean.

They’ll give it a run but I think they come up short. Wright probably isn’t ready for a full season yet and Beniers as their top centre this season seems unlikely. I’d expect McCann on that top line centring it.

All depends on beniers and wright, how quick they can get rolling, the rest of the squad doesn’t have many holes, big need is 1a/1b centers and klingberg

Beniers and Wright will have growing pains. Gru needs to be a LOT better. Klingberg will help the offense but is not much on defense. The Pacific is very chaotic right now so anything is possible.

if grubauer's as bad as he was last year, for sure no. i think probably still no regardless but it's within the realm of possibility if grubauer gives you league average goaltending

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Boggsauce</b></div><div>I see what you’re saying but I would have to say he gets =/> Eichel. He isn’t injured/recovering from major surgery, he just had a 100 point season that Eichel’s never even come close to, and there’s likely even more team control if he’s coming with a 7/8 year extension.
I’d imagine 3 first round-equivalent assets. For example Kemell, Tomasino, and Fabbro</div></div>
Yeah but like i said CGY has no choice but to trade him. They have no leverage in a deal plus i highly doubt he comes with an extension. I think any team that trades for him knows hed be open to signing there long term but i dont think it will be a guarantee and i also dont think he signs an extension till next summer.
He also is a W eichel is a C. I think that is something that is massively underrated. Another thing about the poimt comparison is both his linemates hit a ppg and gaudreau was the 2nd highest scorer in the league. Eichel played with a 60 point reinhart and a scrub. The flames were legit contenders buffalo was a bottom 5 team in the league.
I could be wrong but i think youre looking at similar packages to these.

It could’ve been Suzuki but I doubt it was Caufield. He’s most likely untouchable for the Habs, and they would prefer not to move on from Suzuki anyways.

The Jets would do well to consider Dubois’ value not just in a vacuum, but in relation to losing him in two years for nothing. It sounds like he really wants to play in Montreal. So the Jets can get assets from Montreal for him now, or get nothing from Montreal for him later.
Holding out for an expensive asking price only makes it more likely the Jets lose him for nothing. They should keep this in mind when they’re pushing for Suzuki or Caufield as a return.
That’s not to say the Jets should accept the vast majority of Dubois trades proposed on this forum. And if someone other than Montreal is willing to offer more they should take it. This is just something for the Jets and their fans to think about.

Oh.. Yeah I hear ya, I was hoping for something to happen, hell even a slightly better 4th liner would've been something.. lol
I'm fully aware Winnipeg is a tough sell for UFA's but I seriously question if Chevy even tries to sign anyone other than past their prime 4th liners.

Probably just to get his confidence up and let him have some fun again, I'm guessing he's seen as a project by the Jets if they're sending him to the WHL.
