next years team
Do you seriously believe that Minnesota will trade you their 21 year old Calder nominee right handed defenseman and a 30-goal scoring two-way forward on the right side of 30 for a B-prospect, a first-round bust, and a late first? This is un-precedented levels of delusion

Makes sense if Norris could be healthy, but that's not the case. Sens would accept if this was offered though.

I would give our first for Michkov and not even think twice about it lol.

hawks decide to go beast mode
Kent Johnson just started a 6-9 month rehab following shoulder surgery, so he will not be traded. Columbus is three years into their rebuild. Even if he <em>was </em>tradable this summer, they're not punting a 21yo former 5th OA pick for a late first next year and an an insignificant LHD prospect who was drafted the same year as Johnson.

You can chalk this entire thing up as what won't happen this off-season. I usually try to give props when due but it's clear that you should stick to Ottawa and Detroit.

I can confidently say that watching this team without Timmy and with a Mikkola-Hamonic third pair would be enough to kill me

Does this whole thing remind anyone else of that scene from Family Guy where Peter takes the 'mystery box' over a boat because "a boats a boat, but the mystery box could be anything! It could even be a boat!" What an insane take.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Boodin</b></div><div>why are van fans trading away hronek?</div></div>
Hronek is really good but playing with Hughes has made him look great. We worried about him being paid like a great defender and not a really good defender who also happens to be playing with the best.
Canucks offered under $7M/yr and Hronek's agent apparently pointed to Sergachev as a comp lmao

I know little about Michov other than what I read about him being probably the 2nd best overall prospect but because he expressed desire to only play in the NHL for certain markets, some teams passed on him. But if your opinion is that a high end prospect would never be worth a set top 10 pick, that is utterly insane. 99+% of NHL players do not get drafted and play in the NHL the year they are drafted. And prospects carry less risk than draft picks.

Bonk is not worth a top 10 pick, NO PROSPECT is worth a top 10 pick because THEY ARE PROSPECTS, they have not played a single game in the NHL and potential is meaningless in this discussion.
Norris is going nowhere, is he is healthy he plays if he is injured he is LTIR.</div></div>
I'm very confused myself. So no prospect is worth a top 10 draft pick...but top 10 draft picks are worth more than prospects?

I would definitely do that deal with Philly if they offered it which means it's probably favored towards us lol. The Philly pick will probably be like 17-20, and our pick looks like it's gonna be like 8-10 because we can't tank properly. So it'd be Laughton + 18 for example for Chych, and pick 9 for Bonk. I think we'd have to add something like Jarventie or Boucher, or a toss them a couple of those 4ths lol.
If Pitts doesn't want Korpi I'd also rather just buy him out and send a contract to Sprong or someone like that to play 3rd line RW.
I'd be really happy with this team going into next season tho.

I really don't think Jarry is the answer to your problems.
I would think keeping Korp and adding Brossoit is a much better idea long term.
Jarry has a larger and longer cap and might be the most bi-polar goalie in the NHL when it comes to being amazing or awful.

Don't be fooled by 1 game from Korpisalo. If the Sens want to compete next year, they need 2 new goalies.
Yes, the team defense/system has left our goalies out to dry to a certain extent but Korpisalo, Forsberg, and Sogaard have all been awful. Korpisalo is 2nd worst in the league with a -17 goals saved above expected this season. Needs to be bought out. Korpisalo is big and athletic who can make the flashy save but is so out of position and doesn't make nearly enough of the saves he needs to make.

Interesting concept with no trades. It does kind of show the redundancy of having Chych/Chabot on the same team.
Sanderson Zub
Chabot Demelo
Branny Kleven/JBD/FA or trade
If Korpi can give them league average goaltending maybe they can make a push next year.

I see what youre trying to do with the depth at RD being improved to maybe offset having chychrun at 1RD, but imo hes just not a fit anywhere on this roster. I think we would be better suited keeping zub with either chabot/sanderson and finding someone else to play 3RD altogether. Leaving zub at 3RD would be a waste of our best 5 on 5 RD

I think they are better off Keeping chabot and trading Chych for assets and signing Demelo. Trade Forsberg and run Korpi and Sogaard as your starters. Dorion handcuffed Ottawa on his way out with the Korpi contract.
